Definitely the two biggest question marks are OLine and Linebacker. Really glad they moved Young back to nose. I think 7 wins is definitely attainable with this roster. All depends on the overall health for the season.
-
My bad. I misread who you were talking about
-
He's listed as the third guy for kick returns.

Vito would've had heart palpitations if he had to write an article about Shanbour being named the starter. He's So excited that Mason was named the starter.

Flash sale 50% off tickets to Lamar and UAB
MGNation92 replied to oldguystudent's topic in Mean Green Football
This is the second flash sale they've had. They really are pushing to improve attendance/ticket sales, which is a breath of fresh air. -

DRC: Lamar official talks about impact of hurricane

If you're improving weak areas and still scoring points I have no issue with that -
Coaches Show starts back up tonight!
MGNation92 replied to MGNation92's topic in Mean Green Football
I really enjoy them. Usually a decent crowd, all you can eat BBQ for like 10 bucks, and you can usually talk to the players/coaches afterward -
Yeah people are concerned about starters getting hurt, like Guyton returning kicks. Southern Miss has Allenzae Staggers, arguably their best WR, as the number one guy for returns. If he can do it and do it better than anyone else, then go for it.

Brendon Weatherspoon Health Update
MGNation92 replied to AustinFromUNT's topic in Mean Green Football
Perfect candidate for Redshirting. I think Brammer is the most likely to play out of the freshman O-line. Maybe Mose. I honestly like our depth at guard better than tackle. Hopefully Murray and Mayfield stay healthy -
This sounds oddly familiar

http://www.meangreensports.com/sports/m-footbl/spec-rel/082817aaa.html Show runs from 7 - 8 . Always a good time with good insights from Coach Littrell and some good BBQ from Rudy's. See y'all there!

Yes you are correct. The .8087 number includes his Rivals rating. See the 2 Star rating of 76 below? Thats his 247 rating. He wasn't a 3* until they calculated in the Rivals rating.
-
Yes they factor into composite ratings, but 247 has their own ratings. Is you look just below the Stars/Composite rating you'll see 247's own rating without factoring in the others. I'm saying the Rivals rating is typical higher than that, bumping up their composite rating.
-
I always find it interesting that a lot of the players committed to schools with dedicated(paid) recruiting services have higher ratings on that service than others. Take UTSA. They have a rivals page, almost always, the rivals ranking is higher than the 247 ranking. Would be interesting to see how our ratings would be skewed if and when we get a Rivals/247 subscription page

DRC: Projecting who will play among UNT's freshmen
MGNation92 replied to Brett Vito's topic in Mean Green Football
Everything Vito has been indicating is that TJ will start at Nose, and Young at DE, even with English out. Seems like a complete and total head scratcher to have a true freshman backup the nose with a solid 2 Deep at both DE positions, even without Young. -

Yeah losing English was a kick to the nuts when it comes to DT depth. Seems like detriment to not move Young back to the middle, but I trust the coaches. -
Under Head Coach June Jones of all people. They're already 0-8 so why not take a flyer I guess?

FWIW, If we just beat the teams ranked below us in this list(including Lamar), we'll end up 5-7 for the season. https://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/ncaaf/2017/08/28/ohio-state-rates-no-1-re-rank-college-football/607237001/

They're putting the final touches on it. I heard the announcement video of the announcement of the dates they're gonna release the depth chart is dropping today 👀👀👀

He's referring to the context of the 2015 versus 2017 seasons. The 2015 team had quit under McCarney, nobody believed his BS coach speak anymore. He had lost the team completely and they showed that by laying down and taking their beating in an embarrassing enough fashion that RV had no choice but to fire McCarney and let Chico finish the season. The QB situation was completely screwed up and consequently there was absolutely no internal leadership on that team worth mentioning. For 2017 everyone has bought into Littrell and staff and his message/values. They are working their ass off to win because they want to, the leadership is there, the fire is back. There's internal and external accountability. Completely different scenarios.

Nah you're good. His point is that John has been a huge part of the UNT community and has donated a lot of time and resources to support the program. He's definitely one of the more respected alumni/donors around here because of what he does. He's also a really good dude in general. If you're of drinking age, go down to East side and find the big dude with the beard and talk to him. Either there or Oak street drafthouse just down the street. I believe he owns both.

DRC: UNT's Lawrence earning reputation as "The Standard"

True. If "The Standard" is getting 10 yards a catch and moving the sticks I'll take that every day of the week. -

Yeah his brother was the WR coach at Sweetwater high. I'm not sure if Lawrence was on the team but they recently went all the way to state for 4A I believe
