Will you be singing the anthem for any other games?
-
I drove from W. Ft. Worth to go to the game. I was one of a few students in attendence. Unfortunately, there were some LSU students (?) that were complaining about some of the play calling by the refs mostly concerning the 3 sec. lane rule while we were trying to get rebounds. There was one call in the 2nd half that I had a problem with called on #33. Other then that, I thought the game was called fairly even. Yes, there were many poor shots. I was disappointed at the number of shots that never hit the glass or the rim. I was, however, impressed with the effort the team gave in the 2nd half. It'll be interesting to see how we do in conference play. LSU was a very good team, but did they need to use the full court press for almost all of the game? <_<

So will I. Hopefully, both teams will be competitive, even if they are both playing very good teams. Maybe there will be a surprise.

I'll be on a bus on my way to Crested Butte, Co, so I won't be there in body, but hopefully in spirit. Someone cheer for me.

I know what you mean. Thing is, you didn't miss much on the Tech game. It was rather one-sided. My problem with my family is that my 2 younger brothers are playing video games constantly, plus there's only one phone line, and I feel like I'm not getting enough to quench my GoMeanGreen.com addiction. Plus I hate just sitting around the house, which gets old after a couple days. I can't wait to go skiing starting on December 28th through Jan 2nd at Crested Butte in Colorado. Overall, I'd like to wish everyone on the board a Happy Holiday (trying to stay P.C.) and a Happy (and safe) New Year. *holds up some mistletoe* Later all!

Go to the athletic office. I know the one of the Men's team has a pic Chris Davis and the Women's has a pic of three of the ladies, all looking mean (for you Heather Trout lover's she's one of the three).

With Jerry Jones in the hunt for a new coach, how about hiring a General Manager?... <_< Looks like (after a 5 hour meeting) Bill Parcells is a possible prospect. However, I don't think he'd be very cool with the fact that Jerry likes to hire Asst. Coaches and choose what players are needed for the team. Parcells is looking for the "the absolute right situation," except that I don't think the Cowboys (more like Jerry Jones) will provide that situation. Even if the Cowboys don't get Parcells, it will be the 4th coach hired in 7 seasons. It'll be interesting to see how this pans out...

It was close until close to the end of the half.

While this has nothing to do with UNT sports, I found this rather amusing.... Watching SC @ midnight, they cut to a rodeo, specifically bull riding....Commentator says, "Oops, I think we got the wrong tape..." They rewind it, then cut to U Texas Hoops action. I commented to my brother, "I think SC hates the Horns." "Nah, they just like making fun of them. Besides, they're a bunch of jerks anyways." (referring to UT) Earlier in the Pro-football season, I forget which station did this, but when they showed the players and their positions, the U Texas players didn't say anything. So, to be funny, the station dubbed in a funny Texan accent and edited the video with some (crooked) buck teeth and such. I can't help but laugh when "top" teams like U Texas make themselves such good targets for humiliation.

Didn't you see him limping?

There are many a baseball player that dream of a .480 average. That's incredible! Out of curiousity, where is the team going to play until the softball field is ready?

I'm done after my 6.30 final tonight. I'm looking forward to letting loose. Unfortunately, no free pizza for me.

Groundbreaking Ceremony for New Residence Hall
UNTFan23 replied to Nosretep's topic in Mean Green Athletics
Well, the residence hall is to hold roughly a little more then 300 beds. It will have a "H" shape to it. It should also integrate nicely with Santa Fe. What I found interesting is that they are using the equivilence of a RAD (Rapid Application Development) with JAD (Joint Application Development) concepts (used in the development of Information Systems). -
Other then the natural color of the wood, the only collors on the floor were GREEN and WHITE. No ORANGE or BLUE! As for the Mean Green sharing floor space with the Lady Eagles, I think what helped get the new floor was Title 9 funding...The Lady Eagles needed a new floor, so what if the men happened to play on the same floor.

[*]The foul calling by the refs seemed a little lop sided. I noticed one of the refs was the same we had at SMU. <_< [*]We also got mauled under the basket. [*]Need more offensive rebounds!!! [*]TCU just made some good shots while we didn't. [*]We seemed to be a little banged up, since a couple of our players got little or no minutes. (Justin Barnett, angle?, 0 minutes @ Center) But the new floor looks sweet. They also are working on a new lighting system, which should (strictly my opinion) be completed in before the start of next semester. Crowd looked nice, but was hushed several times (see refs) when things started clicking. Hopefully, they weren't scared off because of one bad game.

They recently tore down an old apartment complex, plus the little trashy stores that were behind pickup(?).
-
I've heard 300 beds. I'm thinking of attending the ground breaking (study break), and the capacity will surely be announced.

From Amy Ayres: A Groundbreaking Ceremony for UNT's new Residence Hall will take place on Wednesday, December 11, at 3:30 p.m. on the corner of North Texas Blvd and West Prairie (former Texas Pick-up location). A reception will be held in Santa Fe Lobby immediately following the ceremony. All students are encouraged to attend. The Residence Hall is scheduled for occupancy next fall.

I hear we'll get to see the new floor. I'm excited, is any one else? I'm also hoping to see stands on the floor for the students. It'll be awesome if I can help make a difference for the team (Men's or Women's). I think if we come to play (and play to win), there's a good chance we'll walk away with a win. Especially since both teams are pretty much equal equal.

I was wondering the same thing about our football players that play bball in the off season. I also wonder if any other players might try and join the squad...

Anyone going to be in chat during the game?
-
98 - 30 with 3.00 remaining in the 2nd half Um, why is TTu getting so much freaking air time in the DFW area. At least Bobby Knight is providing mucho entertainment with his "quality" commericials.

Planning possible vacation to Texas
UNTFan23 replied to GreenEggs&Ham™'s topic in Mean Green Athletics
While I haven't been to the zoo recently, they've done some major renovating, using a safari theme. Now is the time to go anyways. The animals are more active (those that can live in a more cool/colder climate) since it's colder. Lately, they've been doing x-mas decorations during the holiday season. I still think it's first rate. Edited 'cause I can't spell.
