  1. So which endzone has the Athletic Center in it?
  2. You could almost create a game based off of 6 Degrees of Kevin Bacon to tell whether NT might win/lose a game.
  3. So we can beat NMSU, USU, and I-da-ho, which would means a 3-8 season in the Weak Ass Conference with pure Dickey ball. Remember, this is a conference that has 3 Div. 1A wins thus far in the season. (Link) Yeah, the Sun Belt hasn't done any better, but think about why the WAC wants us ... as a central time zone bridge for La Tech. I mean, if we're going to retry the western experiment, why limit ourselves with the WAC. MWC is a far better conference with a local bowl game.
  4. The question is ... will we? If we run pure Dickey ball we'll lose this game.
  5. The recruiting board is a closed board, but the main football board is open. Funny name for a message board ... The Washboard ... cause I thought cats hate water.
  6. Link However, ULM and the F_U teams made this week's Bottom 10 with the MUTS on the waiting list. I thought this was pretty funny ->
  7. Nope. The Cowboys managed to stall out some key drives with some holding penalties in the 4th quarter.
  8. Someone took the ice pond?!
  9. My biggest concern is that Meager takes forever to make his reads.
  10. I'm pretty sure we had 4 PF's.
  11. It be in our best interests for this game to have a ton of people at this game since we have shown interest in joining Conference USA. If we were only to have 12k, then we don't deserve to be in C-USA, especially considering the fact that Tulsa is a short drive and could bring at least 2k in fans. Plus Tulsa has some local recognition with casual fans.
  12. I know you do more then just yell at the Refs Rachel.
  13. So long as they wear green.
  14. Sorry, I had to fix some glaring errors in the article. Changes have been bolded.
  15. That's great to hear what the concert band is gonna play, what does the marching band have lined up for us?
  16. wow, that pic in your sig is ... uh ... distracting.
  17. Just saying it wants a username/password to view the article. I have registered for all the DFW news sites, but for everyone else, I don't see the point. If I can't read it, guess it's not that important to me.
  18. A myspace webjournal thingy-ma-do is far from something personal. I mean, if you want to keep something "personal", keep it off the internet. Period.
  19. I like being the underdog though (accordign to CFN). Gives us something to work towards.
  20. Link (requires registration) Posted on Wed, Sep. 14, 2005 RB could see more carries By JEFF WILSON Star-Telegram Staff Writer A sentence overheard during lunch Sunday at the Bar-B-Cutie in Nashville, Tenn., was something many North Texas fans might have been wondering Saturday night. "Jamario Thomas," said an unidentified Middle Tennessee fan, "I think he was hurt." The fan seemed stunned the defending NCAA rushing champion had a mere 10 carries for 58 yards, while 2003 national rushing champion Patrick Cobbs had 28 carries for 103 yards and a touchdown in the Mean Green's 14-7 victory over Middle Tennessee. Thomas wasn't hurt. But a hamstring injury during two-a-day practices, and the missed conditioning time, contributed to Cobbs' busy game and Thomas' quiet one on the sidelines. "He didn't get the number of carries Patrick got for a combination of reasons, but we feel like that's going to balance out throughout the course of the season," coach Darrell Dickey said. "We didn't know how long Jamario could technically go during this game. That's the luxury of us having two of them." UNT plays host to Tulsa at 6 p.m. Saturday. The Golden Hurricane is allowing 264 yards this season and has been victimized by a 200-yard rusher in its two losses this season. There will be room to run at Fouts Field, and Thomas wants to find it if called upon. "I really don't care about the 10 carries. We got a 'W,' so I was real happy about that," he said. "The coaches just told me, 'You never know when we're going to call on you.' So, I'm there if they need me." Nonconference woes Tulsa presents the Mean Green another opportunity to improve upon a less-than-stellar record against nonconference foes. UNT's Sun Belt dominance over the past four years is well-chronicled, but a 3-19 mark outside the conference has had a negative effect on the program's image. "There aren't too many people who have beat Texas and Oklahoma the last couple years," Darrell Dickey said. "I think we get beat up a little on, 'Well, all they do is win Sun Belt games.'" UNT has played Texas and Oklahoma twice, Texas Tech, Alabama, Arkansas and Colorado since 2001. There were also two losses each to South Florida and TCU and a 1-1 split with Baylor. Victories against Tech in 1999 and Baylor in 2003 gave UNT players a boost. "It made our players feel better about what we were trying to do and showed them that if things went correctly, on a given day we could possibly play with the BCS people," Dickey said. "That's something we want to try to continue to do. But it's tough." Briefly Patrick Cobbs and linebacker Maurice Holman are the Sun Belt's offensive and defensive players of the week. Holman had a 99-yard interception return for a TD. Darrell Dickey said he intends to find playing time for backup quarterbacks Matt Phillips and Kellen Haynes. Starter Daniel Meager took every snap against Middle Tennessee. 21. Glad to hear you and aaron are going to make it to the game.
  22. Tell me you don't have a myspace account, Caleb.
  23. The more I think about the game, the more I think we're both pretty much even. At this time however, I'd have to give NT a slight edge being the home team. The edge will increase depending on how many will be at the game and how into it they get. If you were the opposing offensive coordinator, you'd be salivating over how NT has what appears to be a weak pass defense, which plays to Tulsa's stregnth and how Tulsa gives up plenty on its rush defense, which plays to NT's strength. This game could very well be won by the team that makes the fewest mistakes and capitalizes on the other team's mistakes. The only thing that might prove difficult for Tulsa to develop its best game plan against us is that they only have one game to judge us by, whereas we have two. It will be far easier for Dickey and Co. to throw out some weird formations/player matchups to try and keep the defense guessing. I also kinda wish we hadn't tried for that onside kick against Middle, since Tulsa will now prepare for it.
  24. I won't make it until 4pm. I have a meeting ( ) that should be over by 3pm.
