Every game is a battle and no opponent should be overlooked.

Scheduling upper level RPI schools is tough when you're a down and out program. No one wants to risk a loss to a sub-300 RPI school on the road as it hurts your own RPI. As much as fans want more well known schools come to Denton, other schools are only looking out for their own interests (especially when it comes to possible post-season play) and don't give one care about how much we want to play them. Our fans have to get over themselves, swallow their pride a little, and just attend game to see North Texas play, not who the Mean Green are playing against.

With friends like you, who needs enemies?! I get that fans such as yourself have seen more than most down times but geez. There's no need to project this constant negativity onto every season as if nothing has changed when that is just not the case.

Heck, there are companies that will take you hog hunting with a helicopter. I can't imagine using a bolt action rifle in such a situation. An AR rifle is the best way to go.

UNT will have a better division record (6-0) whereas FIU lost to Middle Tennessee.

I say we should run our system like we would any other game. The goal shouldn't be to run up the score but at the same time, it is up to UTEP to stop us. If they do, good for them (and bad for us, right?). If they don't ... well, UTEP is in for a long day and we're in for a fun evening of football. I don't doubt that neither the coaches nor the players have forgotten what happened last year and should be focused on the game at hand and what it will take to win the game. After watching the presser yesterday, Littrell knows that any team can defeat us if we don't take them seriously and it sounded like he's taking the game quite seriously.

In today's press conference, it certainly sounded like Littrell and co. are trying to get him a "medical hardship waiver" for the season.

For the P5 schools, cities bid for the game with the understanding that those conferences have teams that will travel. If the game was in Nashville and North Texas was playing, how many fans make the trip on short notice? 5,000 maybe? Better to reward a team who took care of business and let them host the game in a (presumably) almost full stadium. Other conferences that have the team with the best record host the conference championship: "P6" The American Conference Mountain West Conference The MAC currently has the games hosted at Ford Field in Detroit Michigan however the MAC has a much smaller geographical footprint than the other G5 conferences. The Sun Belt currently does not have a conference championship game.

CUSA swapped with the Armed Services bowl for this year only. HOD will be a CUSA bowl again next year.
