@Harry To improve the cell service in Apogee means asking (and paying) for the four major carriers (at&t, Sprint, Verizon, and T-Mobile) to bring out mobile cell stations. I don't know the costs (10s of thousands?) but that is something that the Athletic Department would have to pay for. The carriers won't bring them out for free since their network is designed for a specific load on a normal day and a game in Apogee six days out of the year isn't worth the infrastructure investments they'd have to make. In terms of adding WiFi to Apogee, I've seen the question of "Why doesn't Apogee (the company whose name is on the side of the stadium) build out a WiFi network?" Their main focus is resident hall network (which can include WiFi) administration and security. I'm not sure they are the best company to rely on for building out an outdoor WiFi network for something like a football stadium (and possibly the tailgating areas as well?). It cost 10s of millions to build out the WiFi at at&t stadium and the Ballpark in Arlington. I figure it would cost at least a million for such a network for just Apogee.

Before Apogee was built, people were clamoring for a 45k seat stadium. If we're going to build a 10k seat arena, let have a second level so it's easier to hide some of those empty seats from TV. At least we'd have a decent shot at filling the lower bowl then and still not have the place look like it's still mostly empty.

Army will win TOP solely because they run the ball so much. We need to score early and often. Force Army into running an offensive style that they are not comfortable with in order to try to keep up -- namely make them put the ball in the air. You wouldn't think this was the case but UTEP had the ball more than NT did -- 31:38 versus 28:22.

I wish I could agree with you but even during the Johnny Jones era when the program was at its peak we were only averaging about 4,000 to 4,500 per game. That isn't even 50% of the SP's capacity. A new arena should be built with expansion in mind but we haven't shown a need for anything really larger than 7,500. The desire for a new arena comes from the demand for things like box seats and suites which can't be added to the SP.

In case anyone didn't know this already but the last time the defense allowed a touchdown was the 2nd quarter against LaTech. I'm sure Army will score a couple touchdowns but the offense needs to do its job and score more points, especially early in the game.

It's not paint, it's actual rust. It actually creates a protective layer for the underlying metal so that there is little to no maintenance needed (like repainting the material). To "fix" that, they'd need to replace all of the material with something else. This was a common architectural design back in the 70s.

There were a good number of folks there. I felt like the 5 PM tip-off kept some people away but it was also the night of many homecoming events.

According to the final stat sheet he did and lead the defense in tackles.

There's no way the City of Denton (or any municipality for that matter) would have allowed any kind of occupancy to take place if the building wasn't up to current building codes (at the time the inspection takes place). What failed in the apartment building was the floor joists which more than likely was caused by excessive weight (people) and force (people jumping) being applied to the joists. There is a maximum distance between the joists that is allowed in code. Builders can choose to put in more joists to decrease the distance between joists but at some point cost become an issue.

The Conference USA Championship Game

What got it started though was FAU calling out FIU on their attendance. Neither school should be calling anyone out on attendance. -

This was funny: -
What if this wasn't a student living complex and just a regular apartment complex and there were a large number of people, let's say 50 post college adults (even though the reported number involved in the party was more), were throwing a massive party in a 3rd floor unit, and the floor collapses ... then what?

Number of field goals attempted/made is pretty close between the two schools.

tOSU gets the benefit of its name and history. It's a lot like why teams like Texas and Notre Dame are always in the preseason Top 25 despite having shown nothing to voters.
-
The huge loss to FAU makes it tough to get any Top 25 votes in my mind.

Why do people see DFW as this destination for teams to come to visit? Upper echelon programs are going to attract upper echelon talent regardless of whether they play a minute inside the state. It doesn't matter the sport either. You make it sound like we can call up any school we want and they're instantly interested in playing in Denton because ... DFW! It's not that simple. It just isn't.
