Players who are projected to be drafted are skipping bowl games in an effort to protect their draft status. There is huge financial risk involved if they get hurt and drop down in the draft. Also, not everyone will be in the NFL, so it's not everyone skipping bowl games; just those who are projected to be drafted skipping bowl games. As to the bowl games, if Mizzu were to go 9-3 next season and can't go to a bowl game because of the NCAA sanctions, how is it fair to the players that had no part in the bad act who would have played in a bowl game had Mizzu not be in this situation?

Local could be in Oklahoma or Louisiana. I believe it was mentioned this didn't take place in Texas. Best Denton PD might do is determine whether this took place in Texas or not and then feed their findings over to the proper authorities.

Doesn't matter whether the incident took place on campus or not. The Dean of Students has the Student Code of Conduct they can use to enforce a punishment if an investigation determines wrongdoing. Same can be said of whether or not a crime has taken place. Cheating on a test isn't a crime but it does go against the Code of Conduct.

She's a pretty big supporter of athletics but can separate her feelings from the matter just as well. She'd also do a thorough investigation before making any kind of decision rather than act on emotion or a mob demanding the worst possible punishment right this moment.

The lighting system is LED and are like only 3 years old at this point. I think it was the university and not athletics that paid for the new lights. Tell Wells Fargo to (and their money) to take a hike if you don't like the logos. I agree it be nice to get all new digi-base boards but I think there are more pressing things to upgrade.

I can certainly relate to his plight. It takes a lot to keep a blog of that nature up to date.

Again, while Athletics might want to do all these wild and crazy things to try to extend the life of the Super Pit, they don't get the final say. If Athletics had its way, we'd likely be fundraising for suites and a something of a club level or would have already made that enhancement.
-
My guess is SFA will drop off or move to another year at some point.

I don't know what other exact uses the Super Pit might be used for so it would be tough to say whether completely removing the old locker rooms is possible. It still wouldn't fix the problem experienced Saturday night where you have to walk past the visitor locker room where the walkway was closed off by the police. It might eliminate using the Super Pit as a hosting site for other sporting events as I doubt the Athletic department would sign off on letting someone use the Men's/Women's basketball locker rooms. While there is technically "space" within the Super Pit, it would mean taking space away from an academic department in the form of lost classrooms. I think I saw Sport Management has classrooms and maybe even an office or two on past where the Mean Green Room is located.

The number I've heard has always been around 7,500, not half of the current capacity of the Super Pit. Also, did you know the NT Dancers/Cheerleaders don't have their own locker room? I didn't either - it's the women's restroom which is actually an old locker room. Also, because the Rice coach lost his s##t at the end of the game, the police had the hallway closed because you have to walk past the Visitor locker room to get the men's restroom, which is also an old locker room.
-
The police weren't letting anyone go past the entryway that takes you past the Rice locker room and restrooms. It's a small problem with how Super Pit laid out. Crazy end to the game but what a finish!

For whatever reason, the shots weren't falling for the women. They were 30% in the game. Well under their season average of just under 40%. -
in those same last three games, North Texas has shot under their average (47.9%): LaTech - 45% Southern Miss - 44% UTEP - 41%

From what I have heard, RVs involvement was the announcement of Littrell to fanbase and that's about it.

FWIW: Jalie is an RV hire.

The conference has been nice in that we end up with this game at home every other year. -
Anything that involves taking out seats will be shot down by the university as athletics doesn't control the venue.
-
After last night's game against LaTech, we moved up from 42 to 39. Southern Miss tanked from 118 to 151. Beating them likely won't help our rating.

Women Bball are solely on 88.1 so when both the men and women play at the same time, 88.1 has the women's game and 95.3 has the men.

Hopefully we don't make The Star a neutral court when the Mean Green are on the floor. -
I say let them overlook us. We know what this team has done and can do. PotW honors are nice at a player level, but wins are a team effort and this team currently has 5 players averaging double digits and Miller is at 9.8. It be interesting to see if any CUSA teams come anywhere close to NT in that manner.
