Hello GMG Nation, Who is going to the game today? My brother and wife bailed on me so I am solo. But there is no chance I am not going to see NT in LA. I am heading up there solo but would love to meet up before or after the game. Patrick

I COMPLETELY disagree. If you tweak the sliders you can make the game very realistic. Do some searching online and in forums and there are plenty of people that share there settings on the AI and other sliders to make the game much more realistic. It just takes time. I think the recruiting is great and I love the Legend career where you start in High School and work your way to a scholarship playing just one position or iron man. I think it is great.

What a ridiculous statement. I really like DT a lot and think he has potential. But just a crazy statement. Wow.

I would follow Coach Mac into battle. I have said it before and will say it again. I have full faith and confidence in this man and would wager a large amount of money he has our university back in a bowl within 3-4 years. I love these letters. And I think it is straight from him and NOT the department.

I listen to about 30-45 minutes of The Ticket per day on my phone and while I don't hear them talk about NT it isn't like they are breaking down SMU or TCU. Granted my listening sample isn't that large so correct me if I am wrong about that. If they were talking all the time about SMU/TCU and breaking down match-ups and taking calls it would be one thing, but I don't think they do that. I also don't get this almost sense of entitlement. "We have 37k students and countless alums, the media should be talking about us." Why? The Ticket has dominated the ratings for years without doing so. What is the incentive now? Increased ratings/revenue? Probably not. I really love my alma mater, but the fact is that only winning will lead to move coverage. Plain and simple. We could have 100,000 students and we couldn't get coverage if our team was terrible. The more important question to ask is why with all of these students and countless alums we couldn't sell out the first game in our BRAND NEW STADIUM against a regional opponent with a Heisman contender. That is more disconcerting. My friends and I made a point to order tickets the day they went on sale because we were concerned about it selling out quickly. Oops! Patrick

I totally agree with #2. I have full faith and confidence in this staff. I think the second guessing on this board so far is unwarranted. I get it as fans, but unwarranted nonetheless. This staff is full of coaches with big skins on the wall. They know what they are doing and I am confident in them. When I see DM speak I feel reassured about the direction of the program. This man has already done this once before and I know he will do it again.

We saw Patrick at Riprocks. A buddy and I went up and gave him a complete arse-whipping because I couldn't put a coherent sentence together. But in typical PC fashion he was gracious as always and very nice to a couple of drunk idiots. I wish that guy the best in whatever he does!

I too will be flying in for the first game at Apogee. My friends and I are laughing because we know we will all look seedy at the college bars after the game while all the young attractive coeds walk around all hot and judging us old dudes. Thank goodness our hot wives will be with us to comfort us and if that fails there is always our friend Jack Daniels to cheer us up! That being said I am sure Cool Beans and the standard bars will still be good. Right? Can't wait. My first game in like 8 years in Denton and first NT game since the last NO Bowl. It only took a new stadium to get me back! I know, I am a bad alum! Patrick

That report was terrible. It seemed like the author was a 13 year-old boy. Most every helmet he claimed how cool it would be if the helmet showed the mascot instead of just letters.

I assume I am in the minority here but I say let the Nike design team that handles Oregon and TCU have complete creative control of the uniform design. I am such a fan of almost 100% of what Oregon and TCU put on the field. I am ready for the -1 votes!

But what is different is that it is the captain of the cheerleading squad. Not just a random student out of 36k. That would be my guess as to why RV made the call. That is the leader of a highly visible organization on campus and some respects face of the university. Don't know if it is still the case, but during my days the squad routinely competed for and won championships. My point is high visibility. So when the captain of said team shows public dissent it should be addressed. I don't have a problem with him addressing it, it is weird though that it was a phone call on a Sunday night. Side note, I am amazed at how dumb people are when posting things on Facebook and other social media sites. I am NOT saying what she posted was dumb. Just more of a soap box thing for me that people are either so naive or vain to not realize how easy it is for others to find posts that they make. And finally I agree that I don't think there is much of a stigma associated with being a male cheerleader. If so it would be jealousy on the part of someone who wishes that they had such close contact with attractive coeds and had the strength and ability it takes to be a cheerleader.

For the most part I am on board with everything Oregon does in regards to uniforms. Just about every version I find awesome. The flat black helmets are really cool! Flat black NT helmets with the logo would be awesome. Now granted I don't like everything they do, but you take the good with the bad.
