I feel bad typing this because I don't like name calling especially when I don't know the person, but either you're an idiot or you don't know the landscape of college football. Of course Texas beat NT in every aspect of the game, they are the defending national champs. They will beat most teams in every aspect of the game this season. And don't give me no Vince Young. If that defense isn't the best in the country it's right there. Jamaal Charles and Selvin Young make up the best backfield this side of Cal and their WRs are the best this side of USC. I have talked to plenty of experts that know more about college football than I'll ever forget, they are positive this team is still great w/o VY. That 9 play 80 yd drive IS something to hold your head high about. J-Mo looked like the back of 2 years ago and Woody moved around the pocket and completed some nice passes. We as NT fans/alums have to be realistic. Our bar is set high, it's just a different bar than the one UT has. It might sound crazy, but I have faith in this years team. Bring on SMU, Go Mean Green!! Shame on me for starting to drink the green kool-aid. For the past few weeks I have been reading the board and watching people talk about the improvements and how this team is fun to watch and is really making strides. So I start to buy into all of this and purchase the Mean Green premium thingy for $9.95 to watch the game. What a mistake. I haven't seen many JJ games during his tenure because I obviously no longer live in the area, but the few that I have I always remember thinking how they play like they are on the playground. No difference last night! This isn't just a knee jerk reaction to a bad loss, but WOW is it frustrating to watch them play basketball. They look just like a glorified group of guys that you can see any night playing pick up games at the Men's Gym!! One on One offense, jacking up ill-advised shots, chucking 3's. It seems their only real offense is running the Globetrotters figure 8 when they get across half court! I'm waiting for the PA to start blaring "Sweet Georgia Brown". Don't get me wrong, I think they have talent, they just don't appear to be well coached. I read this week that Southall said NT reminds him of a bunch of Gym guys and he is absolutely right! I know that comment upset a lot of people on the board, but it is dead on. If you ever played pick up basketball at the Men's Gym and watched some of the guys that play on that top court, it looks like that. No real offense and A LOT of one on one. Oh well, it was still good to actually get to see the Pit even if was just on my computer. On a side note, that broadcast is pretty good and for those wondering about a score graphic, they could easily do it. If they can put up a Wendy's logo everytime a three pointer is made, they can do the score.

I sense much sarcasm. You don't get your information from me. I stand by everything I posted about the game, however I never would say that at any point did we belong on the same field with LSU. Not even close. I know NT had a chance to make it 28 - 10 on 4th and goal, but we still never belonged. Regarldess, my post was directed more towards this board in general. While I love the discourse with most of the members here, including you, I don't think I'll ever understand why some if not most always defer to you. It has nothing to do with me or what I have posted. Again, I mean no disrespect, but that's the way I've seen it on this board for years and some replies on this thread really brought it out to me. I mean no disrespect to Rick whatsoever with this post!!! But, Rick are you a coach or have you been one? I don't understand all of these people that are lauding his post like he's Jimmy Johnson. I mean people are saying they will only lister to FFR and that if he has seen positives than it must be so. Why is that? Again, please Rick don't take any disrespect by this post, I'm just curious why this is the case. I don't have the technical know-how to quote all of those posts but just go back and read all of them.

Let's not get carried away. While I do think that NT did some nice things last night, LSU ran through the defense with much ease.

I think Meager's arm is solid. It's not a huge arm that can throw 60 yards, but it's adequate. For those that watched the game, he threw a great pass that would have been a TD to JQ on a corner route, except the LSU defender made an amazing play. I just hope he stays healthy!!!

Overall I agree with this post. It's tough for me to log onto GMG after a 56 - 3 loss and see a topic that says nothing negative about the game! However, the reason why my topic talks about positives is because I know that we are a truly bad football team right now. However, NT did some nice things tonight that I didn't expect. But, it is a little comical to see a thread that has the title of this one. If you can't see any negatives, I need some of that Jonestown kool-aid.

Miles didn't run up the score. You said it yourself that not getting backups any reps was a negative. That's what Miles did! Just because they threw the ball doesn't mean they were running up the score. They were getting their backups reps in a game situation doing what they would do. I had absolutely no problem with Miles tonight.

Jeez, I know that too. Can you not take anything positive!!!!?? I'm not trying to sound like Plum here, but the offense has done some nice things.

I know, but I'm talking mostly about the offense, not the defense! We knew LSU's offense would do this. But, I truly thought our offense would pretty much be three and out everytime. NT has had some nice drives.

Obviously the 99 yard drive by LSU after Jamario was stopped on 4th and 1 doesn't help, but I still think the offense has some things to build on. I know it sounds crazy, but those that watched the game have to agree with me. The O-Line looked much better tonight. Daniel had time to throw the ball. Hopefully DD and Ramon realized tonight they can throw the ball 25 times a game and have success mixing things up. I also hope they realized that Jamario needs 25 carries a game for the rest of the season.

I have been impressed with Daniel tonight!! He doesn't look rattled!!! The kid looks like he could be a very accurate passer. Jamario is showing why he should get 25 carries in a game when healthy. He has made some of the LSU defenders look bad! Am I crazy in these thoughts?

Oh I've been getting crap for my opinion on this subject from day one and I don't care. I'll continue to call it like I see it. It is nice to see someone who finally does agree with me though. That being said, I don't mind someone disagreeing with me, but to be called lame ass because of a dumb "tradition", I think is out of line.

The only point to make was for some interesting reading and then once again drive home my point of the stupid tortilla tossing.

Here is a countdown of the greatest college football traditions. I'll give you two guesses what lame one didn't make it. Oh yea, and tearing down the goalposts year after year didn't make it either!! Real traditions, not lame ones

I was taking some chemistry class and went for the final. I was running a little late and parked in front of a meter on Hickory. I got out of my car to put money in the meter and my door closed. Went to open it and the door was locked with my car still RUNNING!!!!!!!!!! I had about 10 minutes before the final with no notes for some last minute cramming, no calculator or anything. So I had to head to class with my car running to take a VERY hard final. I had to ask the Prof to borrow his calculator which didn't make him happy since he said at the beginning of the semester that he would NOT lend out his calc. That was the quickest final I've ever taken.

Yea, I just emailed her and she responded in about 5 minutes with info!!
