  1. That line right there is one of the MANY reasons why J-Mo will be my favorite NT players of all-time alongside Mitch Maher!
  2. It was really bugging me how some of the members here were talking trash about this game and UTA. It'll be some time before I think NT is in a position to talk major trash and call other programs cupcakes.
  3. While reading this thread my mind started to wander. Now I know it would never happen and I'm proposing that NT consider this. BUT, we know they can both run well. Line them up in the backfield together and let them run a new version of the option. They could option either way or drop back and pass. With Dodge's creative mind that could be cool. Again I'm not proposing that, but it'd be cool in a video game!
  4. I only caught like 10 minutes of the second half, but considering the huge win they came off on Wednesday, I think this is a nice win. This had textbook getting big for their britches after that win. But they got it down. Nice.
  5. Those are two channels I get with the sports pack and MASN is the channel I caught the Troy game on. It wasn't listed on Gameplan or in the 700's were other gameplan games are, but was there nonetheless. Plus it's already showing up on my DVR on those channels too. I imagine anyone with DTV and the sports pack will get the game.
  6. That is awesome to hear. On a side note, I LOVE watching Micah run the ball. That's the way a kid should run. I'll be a big fan of his the next three years. BTW, I still love J-Mo too!
  7. Two stats that still boggle my mind when I seen them printed. We are giving up nearly 50 points a GAME!! That's staggering! And, we are giving up OVER THREE MORE TDs A GAME! From 25.3 last season to 49.whatever this year. How does a unit become 24 points worse in one year? Thinking out loud here as I just thought of this while typing that last sentence. I know it might be rehashing an old debate, but maybe it helps in understanding things. Or not. Let's look at the positive. NT has more than doubled its offensive output from last season. While there are many factors that go into it, what would you say is number 1? Probably coaching right? Well, our defense has almost doubled in what it allows, so same question.
  8. oops! That's what happens when you read quickly. My bad.
  9. That story is not right. In October Boise State and Washington scored 136 points. Granted that took overtime to do it.
  10. This is a night I would to be at the post-game press conference. I would like an answer. I know Navy's rush offense is the best in the country. I have no problem with them having success, however with two weeks to prepare why didn't our defense play better assignment football. Again our DBs were nowhere to be found to support the front seven. It was a shame. That's either horrible execution or just bad coaching. Probably a lot of both.
  11. trying to be positive, but I have a serious question. Where are the DBs on option coverage?!?!?! I know they aren't the only ones to blame, but it's been all bad.
  12. 58-49 mid 3rd and we can't come close to stopping Navy!
  13. I haven't seen our corners at all trying to defend the option! Damn, they had two weeks to work on assignment football, where are they? I understand Navy will still have success, but why haven't I seen our corners at all this game defending the option? CRAP!!!!!
  14. Also most points combined is 136 points.
  15. Vizza's 7 TDs in the 1st half tied the record for the most passing TDs in a half. David Klingler has the record with 11 in a game.
  16. Agreed. I wouldn't mine either of those guys as well. The bring instant attention to the school, not to mention they can coach.
  17. The whole time that I was watching that game yesterday I kept thinking let down game! At least that's what I'm hoping. Huge emotional win in Notre Dame and then come play us this week. You never know. Unfortunately these Navy kids I'm sure are very disciplined and that won't happen. BTW, after the game yesterday we had the Navy QB on our show and I've never been called "sir" so many times! Made me feel old.
  18. What an absolute DISGRACE!!!! It is sad that we now live in a country where anyone who cries racism is ALWAYS given credence. What a joke. Green's assertion of racial bias is the hat line. ARE YOU KIDDING. Chatman mentioned they would be happy to help him find somewhere to else to go, so? I find that as a nice gesture if you don't like the new coaching staff. Normally I stay away from making personal comments about players, but these two kids weren't raised well and they should be absolutely ashamed of themselves over this. People need to be accountable for their actions and have some personal responsibility. If more people had personal responsibility in this country it'd be a MUCH better place. And if you don't think this leaves a mark, I have people that don't follow NT football making comments to me because they know I went to NT and saw this in the news. Man I'm angry.
  19. The only thing that mattered to me in that article was the comment by Joseph Miller. That right there tells you these are two kids that feel wronged and are crying about it. Basically under DD they could do whatever they wanted, we know that. That was evident both on and off the field. I don't think we need to rehash some issues in New Orleans, not to mention discipline on the field. Relate it to a child, if they can run roughshot and do whatever and then you instill discipline some might rebel.
  20. I couldn't disagree with this statement more. So by that reasoning the only time anyone can ever comment on anything is if they've gone through it? If that were true I wouldn't have the job I have now. If that were true many politicians wouldn't have a job. Basically I could only have opinions on being married, living in California and the most desirable menu items at Taco Bell, of which there are many. I just think that's a very short-sighted view of things.
  21. Change JayDub to a couple of other posters and I'm in for at least 50 cents! I'm loooking at you GMG1999! BTW Justin, of the 3000 posts, how many actually add something to the thread? hehehe.
  22. I go away from the board for a day and this whole thing blows up. I'm always very skeptical when it comes to race issues in sports. Based on just what D. Green said, it seems a little baseless, but this will play out. I do want to point attention to an article written by Jason Whitlock. I'm sure most of you know he's notorious for stirring up the racial pot and has done so with this latest article. I see Whitlock's points in this article and maybe Dodge and company sort of feel the same way. Read for yourself. Whitlock column
  23. Omar is a nice player, but no chance. He's not even top 10. Not even #1 in Alabama, I'd say JP Wilson before him. In no random order Tebow Brennan Harrell Brohm Woodson Daniel Ryan Dixon Reesing Freeman Bradford Grothe Painter Vizza, hehe.
  24. If you've been in a number of locker rooms you would see that many coaches have number goals just like coach Dodge and they are written on big boards. A LOT! It's a tangible way to quantify things. It's just another example of someone trying to point out every freaking negative they can. I mean seriously how dumb is this to gripe about? If we had won more games this season you'd be saying, "what a genius giving his players actual numerical goals to try and reach it makes them work harder and forcing more three and outs," etc. I can't believe I spent time reading this and then responding.
  25. How many times have they thrown deep and our DBs aren't turning their heads looking for the ball? That's just amazing!
