  1. So go to pre game activities and leave, got it.
  2. On the surface, how did he do more than Chandler Morris? Tulane was a good team, but how is this amount justified versus many others that had equally or even better numbers with a stronger strength of schedule. Maybe I am missing something here.
  3. Also, it wouldn't be developing talent and then transferring out! Win-win. Chandler came from TCU as a backup.
  4. This would be no different than pre NIL. They never enforced it before.
  5. Not sure if it is much better, but it sounds like it is Virginia, not VT.
  6. Thanks. This is almost there. The next level is, as you mentioned, at the conference level. There should be another cap. You could probably take the avg of NIL spending across the conference since NIL started as a starting point for the cap. This could satisfy donors too because they can say, I want my 5 million to be allocated to NIL for X.
  7. Wow, I didnt realize it was this bad. So, we have to pay for the costs but see none of the benefits? Or since it says each D1 school, does that mean we are in rev sharing too? Also, this just means that the schools get very creative in bookkeeping. It's like a tax loophole.
  8. I know several on here have mentioned to move the transfer portal until after bowl games, but if a player has already decided to go into the portal, they still would just choose to sit out the bowl until the portal opens. The portal itself is the problem. It's pretty much killed bowls.
  9. Glass house, my friend.
  10. Then give to both. Seems like a fairly simple solution.
  11. Ahh yeah, makes sense. Forgot they were still students. 😂
  12. Did we have a bye week?
  13. And that's crazy Memphis, who was ranked 25th in the country, got the Frisco bowl. Just goes to show that regular season doesn't matter for bowl outside of CFP. Same feeling here, 100000%.
  14. Completely agree, Atin is the closest thing. Another aspect to this would be running plays that are getting high percentage shots in the paint. Honestly, I don't feel like we have always had that. We run a play, but it's usually shooting a 3 or mid range.
  15. I think this is true, however, I think we have signed more consistent and scoring throughout the team. In other words, instead of one JE who scores 20pts a game, we have 4 others that avg 10-14 each.
  16. I think he will have his GF relate to the players. She will be his translator.
  17. Wow, so small time. One of the reasons this venue is such a beating. It's not just because SMU plays there.
  18. Congrats @UNT 90 Grad!! Well deserved. You have always been such an awesome ambassador for the Mean Green. Looking forward to many more watching parties.
  19. We are unfortunately what we are. We expect better, but most obviously are fine with playing teams in conferences we were in years and years ago. What does this say about where we have gone since SBC? If we end up losing this, how does that look even? At that point, the only thing that has changed in this team is the badge on their jersey. Expect more or you get the same results.
  20. It's not played at the Cotton Bowl any longer. It's played at THE Gerald J. Ford stadium in all it's glory.
  21. I think you missed my other posts on why I feel this way. It isn't specifically the team that plays in it.
  22. It's not that it is that SMU plays there, it is the venue itself. As old as it is, I loved playing this bowl at the Cotton Bowl. So much history there.
  23. This is my exact take on it also. I love my school, but I just can't stomach going to a game at SMU that isn't playing SMU.
  24. I for one would not go to Pony land. I am of the opinion that bowl is just to have another excuse to see a pretty bad team play in a stadium that is like a high school. Also, there is the very likely scenario we can't beat anyone we go against.
