First off congrats on winning...you guys were the better team. I do wish we hadn't fumbled when we were up 7 to 0. Might have been a different game. For people knocking our band, cheerleaders, and attendance please remember our band had to take a bus from Las Vegas to the game. They didn't all make the trip and the Rebel Girls, our national champion dance team was at a competition. We were definitely out numbered and your fans were loud although in Las Vegas the wave would have been discouraged and not allowed. Is that a UNT tradition or something? Overall even though we lost it was a fun experience to play in a New Year's Day bowl in the historic cotton bowl. Enjoy your victory

I've been to the Dallas area before. A few years ago I came out to watch my White Sox play 3 games in Arlington including a day game in 103 degree heat with a 79 dew point. I stayed right by six flags over Texas and had a good time. For the game I am flying in the 31st and out the 1st after the game because I have to get back to coach my basketball team. Won't have much time for anything other than the game itself....my favorite place in Texas is the steakhouse in Amarillo where I proudly finished the 4.5 lb steak in under an hour

I like your fan base from what I've seen on this board. Didn't expect 10 replies within a 30 minute span and there wasn't any spam talking. Maybe North Texas has the best fan base in Texas?

UNLV fan/alum here. From reading all of the stories on our upcoming bowl matchup it seems that neither of our schools are getting much respect. I know the Mean Green have struggled over the past few years and like us are enjoying their best season in years. Although UNLV fans don't know much about the North Texas Mean Green don't think that we don't respect you. At this point we are happy that our team was able to win 7 games this year and become bowl eligible for the first time since 2000. I really hope this turns out to be a thrilling game that draws the attention of the nation. Maybe something like a UNLV win 132 to 131 in 8 OT. I know we will be outnumbered fan wise but we may be bringing more fans than people expect. I have my flight, hotel, and car rental booked as do a lot of my friends. Here's to a good game and a fun atmosphere as we both continue to build our programs. UNLV football gets ignored often but since our basketball team is struggling we are going to have to try to enjoy football a little more this season.
