'17 Evan Johnson RB (Loranger, LA) [LOI: NT]
GMG24 replied to Harry's topic in UNT Football Recruiting
Johnson also received heavy interest from Southeastern, Grambling and UTSA before ultimately signing with the Mean Green on Wednesday. The 5-foot-8, 175-pounder was an LSWA All-State selection in Class 4A each of the last two seasons and racked up 2,672 all-purpose yards as a senior. So UTSA came in an sniffed around one our lowest rated recruits? ;) eh guess Littrell and company can identify talent after all. -
Click the tweet link that is within the tweet, then start slide show, each athlete has a highlight video attached and gives you a closer look at the athletes we got. If you are using a computer you just slide down through the tweet and each athlete has their own subsection. On my phone it was all one solid slideshow.

Mac's Recruiting Shortfalls Put Us Here

True, I should have changed that to allowed cap. I wish that we could Redshirt each Blueshirt to make sure the preceding classes don't end up being short by their senior year. What do you think about this strategy? I wish after next season we would not blue shirt anymore and sign full classes. -

Which is still 15 short of everyone else. You'll see the blueshirting for at LEAST two more seasons I think. It is the only way to get the roster up to speed, its a backwards way of getting 25 a class. -
Fine starter, Izzy back up, try to save Pearson for a RS if at all possible. Pearson pushes Fine next season for Starting job. Yes, by all the workouts I've seen he seems full cleared minus contact (he's in shorts and shirt workouts so thats hard to tell for sure.)

I won't lie, I am disappointed in the "Rating" of our class. However, once I went back and re-watched each kids tape I see a lot of ability and potential for this to be a solid class that competes at each position for playing time immediately. I saw very few "projects" and a whole lot of guys who can make plays from Day 1.

Which signee are you most excited about and why?
GMG24 replied to Harry's topic in Mean Green Football
EVERY SINGLE SKILL KID. These guys went out and really got some solid players. I DONT CARE WHAT THE RANKINGS SAY!!! lol I look at what we rolled out last year at skill positions (Wilson, And Wilson) aside and there isn't a single signee that I am not confident saying they'll be an upgrade from what we had. -

I am learning more and more but I'm hearing anything more than 2:30-4 minutes and coaches shut it off and watch game tape -

I did on film anyway, and he's electric. Me Likey. Semi TCU model, get dudes who can "Fly" regardless of size and find a spot on the football field for them. -
.34 off of 8th. After getting three of our top kids flipped/offered and committed to Houston.

Only reason I know is one of my friends Son's is the starter. This kid can play don't get me wrong, he was behind a really good Junior otherwise he would start at most DFW schools had he not been where he was. -

He was a back up that had split playing time. Played 1/3 of the game typically, and was on most special teams I believe. -

I refuse to talk to him

Im here for the masses

Eh... he still has a day and change to talk to coaches, family, friends.
-
Not seeing the wiggle, but he has some serious straight line speed.
