La Tech has a lot to sell. I agree on Rice/UTSA however with Rice recently upgraded facilities apparently they're very cool. *Im not saying I think facilities are end all be all, but they sure help. We need the IPF done and we need wins and things should change quickly.

Being around HS kids and players from other schools, whether anyone wants to acknowledge it or not, UNT's history of losing has many of them having us as a second choice. Kids know what they've seen recently. Who have been the big G5 winners? Houston is top of the board, thus the reason you'll see us consistently losing battles to them (IMO it'll keep happening until we are winning 8-10 games a year).

Let it go. You've made your point.

The Issue With Seth Littrell's Recruiting
GMG24 replied to MGNation92's topic in UNT Football Recruiting
You seen our facilities? FCS. The HS I coach at has a weight room that rivals ours, and we have a 50 yard indoor. Hard to wow a kid when their HS facilities are better than a D1 -
Of 169 kids we offered last class 44 signed with a non P5
-
To be a voice of reason, Littrell was brought in bc of his coaching ability, hence 1-11 team with 68 scholarship dudes to 5-8 team. Wilson brought in because he was one of top recruiters in the country. He recruits well, Littrell coaches well. Does our head to head with FBS need to get better, yes. However, more times than not we're losing to P5, or Houston who was ranked last year and beat a damn good OU team. Everyone is in such a panic right now, and we haven't even seen his second class on campus. Yes rankings aren't great however if he can Win games with that talent I'm good. They've been out, offering kids early and not getting them, time to regroup and attack it again.

Anyone interested in 2 Iowa transfers from DFW HS?
GMG24 replied to GMG24's topic in Mean Green Football
Yeah.. Guyton didn't have WVU LOL. I think he does good with transfer/Juco. They're older a bit more mature. I don't think he sells enough, he's a straight shooter that older kids relate too. See Bryce English as well. -

Haven't met Koonz, Langston, Yellock. But I'd answer your question with maybe Brown. Then I'd say a definite No! We have a staff of solid coaches, that are learning how to recruit. Coaching Experience breakdown OC Graham Harrell- 1 year outside WR at Washington state, 1 year OC RB Coach Littrell- we all know who's coaching there.. 0 exp Outside WR Joel Filani- 2 years GA Boise st, 1 year Offensive QC at Washington state, 1 year outside WR UNT Inside WR Tommy Mainord- student assistant and coach at Tarleton for 6 years, 3 years at SHSU, 2 years OC at Lamar, 3 years at Tech, 3 years at Kentucky (he's never landed a 4 star recruit according to 247) OL Chuck Langston- 1 year GA 3 years TE/DL OU, UCO, Trinity Valley HC, Euless Trinity, and Lamar. Total 20 years. D.C. Troy Reffett- kids losing his mind ill I'll finish later.

'18 RB Devonte Lee (John Marshall - OKC)
GMG24 replied to AustinFromUNT's topic in UNT Football Recruiting
No doubt. It's mentioning it as a possibility why a kid with numbers he has, not having as many offers as you'd think. -

Just saw him at A&M commerce camp and the dude is built like a brick ____ house!! Holy cow he's rocked up. Reason I'm seeing he's under recruited is if he's 5'8 I'd be shocked closer to 5'7 but dang he looks good! -

I think Wilson gets slighted in this category. I like him between the tackles. After him probably Siggers in my book. -

Yeah Smith, we may do it I just don't know why you would add that in and not recruit that position. -
These were the things I was talking about last year when we got Littrell and Co. we need to be pumping these out at a rapid pace with high quality. Now we need a mantra and not Tee it high let it fly that's to long. I'll insert a majority of what has been released.

NCAA Hands Down Verdict on Louisville
GMG24 replied to Coach Bill Lewis's topic in Mean Green Basketball
They lost their post season play 2 years ago I believe self imposed ban, you know when they had one of their bad teams that wouldn't make a run anyway. NCAA is a farse as far as I'm concerned. USC they did the right thing, Penn state they started to, then shied away. Baylor nope, UNC Nope, Louisville nope. SMU yep. -
True. I am personally a ok if a kid commits to a small school adds 5-6 P5 offers throughout the year and changes his mind. For everyone one kid who does that there's 10 who get played as bad if not worse. At least if he commits to us or Ark st he's got a "spot" in the class. Guess I've seen to much of the dirty part of recruiting from other side to care if a kid commits/ decommits when a better situation (or so they think) presents itself. If I'm a CUSA coach I'm selling the mess out of the fact that 3 CUSA WR were drafted in the draft and 9 total players just 5 less than the big 12 because the kids played for 3/4 years and got all sorts of experience.

I keep seeing you post we're adding a more traditional tight end, where did you see this? Ever once at the spring game do I remember seeing a hand in the dirt true tight end. Chumley is a flex TE you put in slot to get a blatant mis match on the LB as was seen in spring game when he ran wide open several times down middle of the field. Makes Safeties sit in box longer and opens up a lot more route concepts slash windows for QB to put the ball in. -
No, lanyard is standard. The name badge (at least at Big schools says official or unofficial most time). I'm just of the belief because it's happened to too many of my kids. They have 1/2 smaller D1 offers chase a big one never get it class fills up, or coaches move in bc they didn't show interest and now you got jack ____. Appreciate the opportunities you have. You get to be one of 2 % of ALL HS football players to play D1 and get school free.

So I just want to make sure I'm getting this straight. In TX one of the greatest states for HS football a 6'1" 270 lb DL goes from unranked and two offers on February 7th to adding Rice, New Mexico, Ark state, Kansas st, Sfa, Tech, HBU. In a matter of 4 months and people still think this staff can't go out late find similar talent, but now instead of schools jumping in later it's 1 week before signing day and they can't. I'm not saying you build a class like that but it's possible to add 4-5 kids a class IMO like a hambone type kid. West tx-El Paso not many people beating down doors. Sure may offer kids there but not spending $$ there. Anyway I'm just posting this because I think it goes to show again we can identify D1 talent. If we can do that early (and the kid goes somewhere else) why can't they do the same late? Yes I know most every other school will have evaluated etc etc. I'm just posing the question IF they evaluate a kid and he's good enough to play late why not trust them?
