  1. I believe it was the already at JUCO, but hadn't completed the degree type of partial qualifiers not then HS non qualifiers. I can't locate the article I read on the topic awhile back?
  2. Last season, former UAB linebacker Jake Ganus led Georgia with 101 tackles. Former UAB linebacker T.J. McCollum led Western Kentucky with 106 tackles. Former UAB running back Jordan Howard led Indiana in rushing (1,229 yards in nine games) and was second in the Big Ten in rushing yards per game (134.8) to Ohio State's Ezekiel Elliott (140.1).
  3. I get so tired of hearing this, but understand why people say it. Just look at what's going on, you can't tell me they don't care. The university doesn't care. They're giving tickets away to recent grads as in this past year 2 of them to be precise. Then if you graduated from 2013-2016 you can buy them for 50 bucks a piece instead of normal cost. I don't see how you can look at the social media (twitter) hiring of graphics guy, new admin in AD, all the facilities planned and give me that answer. I just don't agree.
  4. I keep seeing UAB loss as totally unacceptable, and while I don't think there's any reason we lose to them, everyone does realize they were allowed to sign partial qualifiers. As in guys who other D1s wanted but couldn't get because of their academics. Guys who never end up at UAB if that doesn't happen. They're going to have a ton of talent make no mistake about that. Just read this this article also, didn't realize during their rebuild those guys were allowed to freeze their eligibility... gunna be playing grown men by their senior season. This staff was afforded a lot of extra time for evaluations, while every other staff was coaching and game planning, they were evaluating. https://www.underdogdynasty.com/uab-blazers/2015/8/18/9169641/bill-clark-rebuild-uab-roster 2nd article talks about them being allowed to sign 45 guys their first class. http://www.al.com/sports/index.ssf/2016/02/uab_college_football_ncaa_spri.html
  5. Mose will start day 1, and I'd be willing to bet at least one of the other Young OL will compete for a starting job ultimately to lose out. Also this being their second full year in the system, they understand the blocks and techniques better. Remember they were asked to go from pro style to a little more finesse and a totally different technique. The defense should be on par with that defense IMO. LB play may be behind but our secondary is going to be silly good.
  6. Would you rather sell out with ease, or come up with plans to give away tickets? Me I'll take the sell outs and extra recruiting boost. In 5 years if it's sold out every game bump it to 30 K then see.
  7. Yes, this coach and team won't let that garbage happen again.
  8. Possibility of a current D1 OL transferring from west coast
  9. Lol NG rebranded cuz that was the worst team in TX for awhile and still may have a shot a two it. Them and Greenville battling it out.
  10. Buddy of mine coached at NG, said that was the only way they stayed in game. Anyway, you are right on second part. He is also pretty fast.
  11. https://pilotonline.com/sports/college/old-dominion/football/odu-proposes--seat-football-stadium-to-be-built-without/article_89d107e7-0c7a-5824-9bde-c777021c94cc.html ODU disagrees. I think they've got the right idea for smaller schools build a facility you can sell out, make it a awesome environment it'll still be loud as hell. But if we win for 3/4 seasons no reasons apogee doesn't sell out.
  12. Someone should send him "The Stand" vs Rice both times lol The Original and 2.0
  13. Yes sir you are correct. I kept going Scott, I thought he graduated, but after watching beyond the Green I remember he limped to finish with the hernia. Quick Roster check, I'm not sure who plays middle for us, Garner, Fulp, Bishop, Lemasters. Outside guys want them to be able to really run. Ejiya, Minor, Peters, Means, Thornton maybe Garner if Fulp or Bishop can take the starting Mike job. I am interested to see I find Peters does anything. He looks like an SEC LB and I've never seen him step on the field.
  14. How many winning seasons we had last 10 years? No student has a real reason other than getting drunk to attend. I remember back during our run of the Sunbelt going to games and not being able to find a seat in the student section had to sit in the end zone. Winning and not just one season of wins will get people out.
  15. The 3:3 fits Scott much better as a MLB. Think he'll shock up. Garner will be a plug and play don't think you miss a beat, the other side I'm not sold on. Ejiya looks the part and so does Minor time to see if they can play. In regards to your earlier post, I like Young at the tackle not the Nose. He struggled a lot with double teams last year. Prefer to rotate TJ and English there. Let Young/Fluesche and Hambone/Johnson rotate with Ozougwu and Dillman fight like dogs to get in on passing downs.
  16. * RV, and Mac then add in the new competitive football coaching salaries (finally) and the 4-5 new upper AD office people lots of $$ we weren't normally spending.
  17. Breaking news, a lot of other college football teams play outside. A lot of other college football teams have no problem selling tickets. You need to win, it's pretty simple. Win and people come watch, don't win and here's plenty of other options on a Saturday to watch other football. UT has some gnarly kickoff times, Tx St, UH (where it's 1,000% humidity) it is what it is. We have a solid group of 15-19,000 fans who will show up regardless. To draw the extra crowd you must win and win and win, then they'll say oh UNT is winning I'll go check them out. However if TV or broadcast isn't telling us 6 pm nothing wrong with pushing it back and you may then draw a few more people.
  18. Players workout in the early afternoon with Womack then have player run practices certain days. It's pretty cool because they don't look too different from regular practice HC the kids know what their coaches want them doing. At least that the impression I got.
  19. Did you know Marquise Goodwins HS coaches threw him the ball as he backpedaled a bubble route instead of just running a bubble?? 🙄 (Heard via word of mouth trying to find video to confirm or deny) a coach familiar with the team says no they didn't.
  20. So the staff took a kid who had no offers, walked on, and moved him going into his senior year and he was one of two who accounted for 1/3 of our offense. Hmm.. 🤔🤔 maybe they do know what they're doing
  21. Over thats stealing. I don't bet though.
  22. I'd be willing to bet we don't see these Uniforms until the game they reveal them. Which will be first two games and maybe a conference game they think will get guys feeling good, UTSA type game. That's my uninformed guess
  23. https://www.sbnation.com/college-football/2016/10/5/13167362/clemson-tigers-entrance-death-valley-howards-rock-bus-hill obviously numbers will be different but with all the tailgaters no one has to go Far... could easily be 10-12 people deep from walkway to gated entrance by the team LR. Plus if it's loud enough the visiting teams whose probably in the LR gets to hear a little roar.
