  1. Be willing to bet, somewhere in a thread on this board the idea came up. Doubtful Rick came up with it in his own.
  2. They absolutely did not, they never offered two free season tickets. They also only "came up with" young alumni section AFTER the league said no students directly behind the visitors bench.
  3. You don't coach. Quit making up lies. Also can he shoot? I'm tired of guys who can only dunk then when people play real defense their game is a mute point.
  4. Sure you did. One more of those and you'll be in timeout! Lol maybe we can do the bball threads like we do in football? Class, position, name, (school) just to keep it uniform?
  5. Think his PT in fall was indicitive of others poor choices and consequences, combined with a lack of depth. He played well though.
  6. I have to re watch but seems to me Manase is better of the two. Brother could play a guard or center for us, but I'm pretty comfortable saying Manase is quite a bit better than his brother. Not taking anything away from older brother.
  7. I've already been working on mom and dad.
  8. It's going to be a pretty big project. It is including an expansion of the current dorm/cafeteria/weight room etc. I believe I read 2 years but I could be wrong. Construction projects take time.
  9. IPF will begin and be complete in 2 years, and a brand new soccer/track facility by next summer. Pretty solid for year 1 if you ask me. You of all people know exactly what a disaster this place was when he took over. Glad you're back, but I was definitely part of the get RV as far away from this place as possible group. I can say the few times I've heard Wren talk, listened to his coaches talk about the support he's giving them. This thing is going to turn around. He also went out and purchased the brand new sweet chrome helmets for coach Littrell to get the guys juiced up. Those helmets ain't cheap, you're looking at minimum of 275/300 probably closer to 400 per helmet, then add the design etc probably 5-600 a pop, times however many we suit up, I'm almost certain it was a home game they were released which means everyone suits up. Let's call it 90 for giggles, and say an even 500. You're looking at $45,000 without Tax. I am sure there are other things I'm forgetting. Oh redoing the ladies LR, and the practice facilities for bball. The guy is doing stuff but is taking longer than maybe we'd like to show "it". I've been pleased with the minor improvements while waiting for the big ticket items to be revealed. I'm ok that they're taking their time BD god knows we need to do it right the first time, see the football LR that had to be redone again, Bc it still isn't up to par. Oh the football team room, WB.
  10. Plays on same away team as Okpoh, always been a longer guard, last time I saw him he was 6'2 and can shoot the ball pretty well. That was a year ago and they were going into their sophomore season. I'm hoping we offer their other teammate Tyrese Maxey, but we may be in over our head here. Chris holds Baylor, OSU, SMU, Tulsa, UNLV, UNT He is number 2 in the video teammate Maxey is 3. Leave volume turned down if you got kids around I'm sure there's a cuss word or 5 in his highlight mix tape.
  11. They'll catch 2/3 CUSA teams who don't take them seriously.
  12. Baseball isn't coming back until the new bball arena isn't built across 35 by the athletic dorms. Why dump more money into a drain? Baseball will generate 0 revenue, and our sports operated at a deficit last year. THAT would be bad business. I would like to see him holding former AD members feet to the fire, but maybe just maybe with a good leader they've gotten their act together? If not then they need to be shown the door and I have a feeling WB will have no problem in doing so.
  13. Freak athlete, squatted 275 in 8th grade after he did three sets of 225 6 times. One of my all time favorites, kid is very humble (almost to a fault), but he'll do anything you ask. I'm so proud of him and all the hard work he has put in. I told him when he played for me in MS he was a D1 athlete. Currently holds Oklahoma State, Utah State, and UNT. We have a very good chance of landing him, he's very close with family and Denton would be an easy trip. I am pretty sure I've got a thread on him somewhere else that I made when he was an 8th grader.
  14. That and 10-15 schools told his coach if he was an inch or two taller he'd get an offer, that he was just "too short" to play at that level. I'm telling y'all this kid is an absolute freak. Trinity has had some animals and he's up there with the best of them.
  15. Yes, I keep forgetting him. I've heard coaches are pretty high on him.
  16. I believe it was the already at JUCO, but hadn't completed the degree type of partial qualifiers not then HS non qualifiers. I can't locate the article I read on the topic awhile back?
  17. Last season, former UAB linebacker Jake Ganus led Georgia with 101 tackles. Former UAB linebacker T.J. McCollum led Western Kentucky with 106 tackles. Former UAB running back Jordan Howard led Indiana in rushing (1,229 yards in nine games) and was second in the Big Ten in rushing yards per game (134.8) to Ohio State's Ezekiel Elliott (140.1).
  18. I get so tired of hearing this, but understand why people say it. Just look at what's going on, you can't tell me they don't care. The university doesn't care. They're giving tickets away to recent grads as in this past year 2 of them to be precise. Then if you graduated from 2013-2016 you can buy them for 50 bucks a piece instead of normal cost. I don't see how you can look at the social media (twitter) hiring of graphics guy, new admin in AD, all the facilities planned and give me that answer. I just don't agree.
  19. I keep seeing UAB loss as totally unacceptable, and while I don't think there's any reason we lose to them, everyone does realize they were allowed to sign partial qualifiers. As in guys who other D1s wanted but couldn't get because of their academics. Guys who never end up at UAB if that doesn't happen. They're going to have a ton of talent make no mistake about that. Just read this this article also, didn't realize during their rebuild those guys were allowed to freeze their eligibility... gunna be playing grown men by their senior season. This staff was afforded a lot of extra time for evaluations, while every other staff was coaching and game planning, they were evaluating. https://www.underdogdynasty.com/uab-blazers/2015/8/18/9169641/bill-clark-rebuild-uab-roster 2nd article talks about them being allowed to sign 45 guys their first class. http://www.al.com/sports/index.ssf/2016/02/uab_college_football_ncaa_spri.html
  20. Mose will start day 1, and I'd be willing to bet at least one of the other Young OL will compete for a starting job ultimately to lose out. Also this being their second full year in the system, they understand the blocks and techniques better. Remember they were asked to go from pro style to a little more finesse and a totally different technique. The defense should be on par with that defense IMO. LB play may be behind but our secondary is going to be silly good.
  21. Would you rather sell out with ease, or come up with plans to give away tickets? Me I'll take the sell outs and extra recruiting boost. In 5 years if it's sold out every game bump it to 30 K then see.
  22. Yes, this coach and team won't let that garbage happen again.
