Wow. I'm not sure I can keep saying this any different way. They averaged 19 a game, we surrendered 24 and KO coverage team (HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE DEFENSE) gave up 14 getting to their 38. They have a solid freshman QB who hasn't played some very good teams including some of the top CUSA teams and is going to get better and more comfortable. Just can't follow the it's the defenses fault, logic. 3 of those 24 came on a turnover they returned and were already in Field Goal range before they snapped the ball one time. So one could argue defense really gave up 21. I know that doesn't fit the sky is falling UNT sucks agenda being pushed though, carry on.

Actually you aren't all the way correct. The particular style our KO team employs is to kick to one side of the field, then squeeze all of it between hash and sideline. You have attack guys who go to ball, and guys who run their "lanes". The outside two guys closest o hash on that particular return just squeezed too much and once he made the jump cut and bounced it was over. I'm not a giant fan of this style, but I know why colleges use it, helps minimize ammount of grass you have to cover.

I'll argue when we went for it on 4th down inside our own 30 and didn't get it the team more or less shut it down.

The offense did not help the defense even slightly in that game. After they opened the game on a 75 yard drive in 3:07 , we went out there had the ball for a grand total of 5 plays and 2:19 Defense right back on field and a short one at that. Their offense strikes again from 50 yards out and 2:53, our Offense goes 3 plays 55 seconds INT. Defense on the field for 8 plays 2:03 and a 45 yard drive resulting in a FG. Offense back out for an amazing 4 plays and 1:52. Our Offense never gave the defense a chance to recover, make an adjustment and try to play. You can't get something changed or corrected in 55 seconds, and damn near impossible in 2 minutes. Should D have played better absolutely!! But this offense has to carry its weight and match a big time offensive opponent with at least a drive long enough to let the defense breath and get coached up on adjustments.
