Littrell and Wilson both applied for Tennessee
GMG24 replied to Coach Bill Lewis's topic in Mean Green Football
So, he preaches loyalty etc, he gives everything he’s got to the kids program etc. an opportunity for a raise and promotion comes, and now he’s pissing on you for seeing if he can get it? You work wherever (I have no idea) and you have a chance to double or triple what you make, you gunna turn it down because you’re loyal to your current employer? -
Quit trying to pound the ball inside. Crap

Attendance looks solid on TV!! Student turnout looks decent!

TEXAS!!!!!!!!!!!

I agree whole-heartedly. I think campus, student body, and soon Facilities allow you to be "in the conversation" but our $$ and spending power keep us pretty far out of contention right now.

Littrell and Wilson both applied for Tennessee
GMG24 replied to Coach Bill Lewis's topic in Mean Green Football
No, everything that I have heard Littrell is more valued among the college ranks than Wilson. Most look at Wilson as a Recruiter only, and Littrell as a guy with a ton of football knowledge. There is a place for both of them, however I think (non-MG goggles) Littrell will always be a better hire because of the way college game is evolving. If Littrell's staff were able to recruit at even a semi-close rate of Wilson I do not think he would be here today. I also heard he turned down multiple jobs (no I didn't ask which ones) because he likes Denton and the community. He knows he can win consistently here and compete for Championships. You move to a big time conference and have a bad year or two (5-7 6-6) you are probably getting canned. -
Riley Dodge named new Southlake Carroll HC
GMG24 replied to All About UNT's topic in Mean Green Football
No idea if there is a spot or not, however Dad pulled out of the gig late, because he realized Riley would be able to get it if he stayed put. There is still a chance dad ends up back at SLC in the AD role. -

May be moving into the AD spot, but without a doubt it's to make sure he learns all the ins and outs of being a HC. There is a lot that goes into it that most people don't realize. Especially at that level. -

He isn't ready and is under qualified for that spot. This has shaken the HS coaching ranks.- 38 replies

He is pretty smooth when he can catch and shoot, and off of the bounce (not creating for himself) more shot fake and get some separation. He has shot at about a 60% clip from the FT line ever since I had him as a 7th grader. His FT is fixable he finished around the 70% mark for me by the end of his MS "career." His bounce off the court is ridiculous. I've never see him be out jumped, after he and another defender has jumped for a shot or rebound and their was a 2nd jump immediately followed. He is explosive to the ball on rebounds and runs well for his size. Oh and he loves to get down and guard. He will GREATLY benefit from our/another college weight program he has minimal weight room experience. He text me back and we are going to go to the game Wednesday, hoping for a really good crowd turnout so he can see UNT supporting their bball team.

That's the thing, he's going to have to better shooting the ball from 18 feet and in. His FTs will need work as well. But athletically kid is pretty gifted.
-
He's a very organized guy, does some really good stuff, and needs to work on alot of stuff. CSU is already down in TX plenty, but he may give them some better ways to navigate TX in a more organized way.

Not to be greedy...but what is the missing piece?
GMG24 replied to Harry's topic in Mean Green Basketball
I think Tope will surprise alot of folks by next year. Kid is still pretty Green to the game of basketball. I like how strong Tope is around the rim. We need Simmons to adopt that same approach to the weight room.- 21 replies

Update, he may come to the game next week with me. Depending on what day we play at home. No, this isn't a recruiting violation because we have a previous relationship.

'19 SG/PG Chris Harris Jr. (South Garland)

Yep, I figured he was a long shot, but I like the offer. -
I am so glad they decided that Teasley/2181 needed to be two lanes, 10 years too late.
-
Man I hope we finish them off Monday Wednesday!! I've got baseball Friday night.
-
No. He was playing with 1 real shooter who could stretch the floor. Duffy adds a whole new dimension!
-
IMHO that will take winning CBI and coming out next year firing on all cylinders. Then you see Student Body turnout more. As well as alums

Attendance? Possible picture?

BOOOOOOM!!!!!

Looks there... he takes his dude off the bounce, draws help, kicks and Smart nails a 3. Love it! Our offense is clicking on all cylinders

He'll be reinstated the week they play us.
