I saw the 2 deep on another pinned post. Think its maybe in the game notes for the bowl game. I can't quite recall, and Mestemaker is the starting QB backed up by Tisdale and those are the only 2 QB's we have available.

This year seems to be the year of which top 3/4 teams will find a way to lose a game or 2 to one of the teams in the bottom 1/2 of the league and cause them to gain a L in the L column that will drop them for tournament seeding/ regular season conference championship. I say that as this isn't the year you can rely on the middle 5-9 to help even the Loss column out if you happen to fall to one of the lower half teams in conference. IMO there is a clear 1-4/5 and after that a substantial drop in the level of competition.

Getting in the portal on January 3rd or 4th and trying to find a school by January 13th or so when most schools go back seems like a pretty tight window. If they want to go, we will just reload. Plenty of players want to play in an offense such as the one we run. We have a bonafide starting QB in the Miami transfer that was one of the most highly sought after QB's in the country last cycle. That alone will bring in the skill players we need if we have more go.

Yes serviceable, I think they can manage 21/24 points I'd say that is serviceable, The pieces we lost all replaced production from the previous guy who was playing in front of them, the only one that is a giant ? is QB which I stated in the original post. As long as he doesn't try and go hero mode (I dont think Morris will allow it). We will see quick game, short to intermediate called concepts, quick screens, and occasional shot plays off of play action. Serviceable to me means you have a CHANCE to maybe win.

No sir he is getting Portal visits and Tech offensive roster prepared. Flip side sounds like we are going into this thing with 2 QB's starter and Tisdale backing him up. Hopefully under Tisdales tutelage and from the QB Whisperer he learns enough to guide us to victory!

I think Offense will be serviceable, Defense will have their hands full with a tough TX State offense similar to ours. Very fast tempo, lots of deep shots and screens, as well as a solid Run Game. The guys we "lost" have all had guys behind them who at one point or another proved they have what it takes to keep the offense humming except the QB which is my only real concern.

Me plus 3 will be there. Anyone else?

I was talking to Harry the other day, and I mentioned that I may be more excited about going to the UAB Bball game than bowl game. I am going to both but I am not looking forward to the offense being run by a walk on freshman QB who got a handful of snaps in HS at the position. Care to change my mind?? 😄

Think this is staff trying to balance the QB Room out Have a 1 year starter, plus solid backup, the back up plays Sr Year while Jimmerson is the back up. Then after a few years to develop Jimmerson is ready to rock. I think Jimmerson may win the job as a RS Freshman over this guy. But it provides you with some solid QB play for competition as well as depth.

You don't have to, but the reality is that is where this is headed.

Billy did that in the Football thread already. We had plenty of HS players play the last 2 seasons it would take awhile to sit down and navigate all that but would be fun for sure. Before the portal window I sat down along with some help and navigated our contributors. I did not include Special teams, just players that I remembered making contributions Offensive, or Defensively. The amount of young players was astonishing. He didn't have a problem in 2011 leaving little ole George Mason after guiding them to NCAA tourney for a bigger payday for Miami. I can't stand talking out of both sides of ones mouth.

@BillySee58 the only one I'd argue is Isheem Young should be starting at safety. Getting to see him just a little bit he is the real deal. Injury sucks but I think he has more ability than most at that position. Other one I'd like to see change is MLB, I think Brown or Burrell dethrone Weslowski this season but we will see!
