Herman is flirting with the line... https://mobile.twitter.com/CoachTomHerman/status/625884399641346049

I am worried for sure, but wouldn't most of you be complaining or arguing that it's just a verbal hell prob flip if said team comes along blah blah blah. I agree reed our recruiting has lacked, SMU so far is kicking our teeth in, Houston is kicking our teeth in, let's see if those recruits hold. One thing I do know is that east Tx just got harder to recruit with the two afore mentioned schools stepping up their game.

probably best to buy up our allotment first then spill out, you know just in case we get a bowl game!

Any chance this turns around after our Friday night lights camp? They just had theirs... Granted their recruiting staff is head and shoulders above ours. Forget the guy who they brought in but he's been tweeting and posting videos constantly -
yes, that's what we've compared it to.

http://web.stanford.edu/~islander/jobrules.html to me it reads they can bring home 2,000 during an academic year, and this is stanfords website I pulled, couldn't find anything on our website. So, you're in favor of having them work and set up a Rhett Bomar situation for the big P5 bullies. Instead of a numerical value that's a determined fixed rate (per school)? Hmm.
-
Haha yeah... One whole class, plus their 3 hour workouts, then homework, you want them to work after that right? So they work a night shift, when you want them to recover? No, ok wel then when we get to game 4 and their bodies have fallen apart because their has been no recovery you will blame the Strength coach for doing a terrible job and want to fire him to. Come on man, use your brain. shhhhh you're making good points.
-
I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure they still take 1 class per summer session, and they also have minimum ammount of study hall time they must meet each week inside the academic center. You can chose to believe these guys don't do a damn thing but walk to class, go home sit on their rear, go to football, go home and do nothing choosing not to work. I know this is not the truth but to each their own I suppose.

no, I support OUR kids, all athletes. That's some crazy talk. Are there any other conspiracy theories you believe? Come on man. Maybe it's different for me, I've personally had friends make it big time D1 schools, and small time D1 or D2. I've seen some that were from money and some not at all. They struggled sure, but when mom and dad can pay to put you on a flight to come home, or fly up and visit at the drop of a hat, it's a little different when the only time you're seeing them is the RARE chance you have to work and save up enough to get home. That's not what college, or college sports are about. ( bla bla bla it's about $ bla bla bla) yeah I know it's an industry no doubt, but for crying out loud, it's 3-6 grand a year they're not getting rich nor will they ever. I can't see where all the negative is, should there be a level this is your COA stipend? No, it's not the same in LA as it is in Eugene, as Idaho, as Denton, as Aimes! It's going to be different it's ok. You are going to compare a student to student athlete? Student- works to pay for school, or takes out loans, or both student athlete- gets full ride, spends entire day in class or at practice, does HW late at night in the academic center, no opportunity at all to work for the majority of the year.
-
Ben is bitter that he never got interest from schools who wanted him I guess. Trashing a kid for wanting interest and wanting more options? Come on.
-
yeah DAMN those kids who are getting a "free ride" you're such a tool. I bet you wouldn't say that to Marcus Trice face, or any other UNT player current or former. These kids (young men) bust their ass everyday, if it is deemed that they need to receive extra help then so be it. That's like saying, hey Ben, I know you work (you probably bitch about that too), and we know you've been coming up short on money but we aren't authorizing you for a loan or pay raise or whatever the hell you want to call it. These kids have ZERO way to make money outside of a tiny window during the summer. How exactly do you expect said kid to pay for things of his own? I'm sure you ate every single meal on campus. You should do everyone a favor and just keep stuff to yourself. You sound more and more foolish every time you talk. How do you propose these people get themselves back and forth during holidays or vacation off time with no money? Never mind, according to you they don't deserve to see their families because they chose to receive a scholarship for their athletic and academic ability. No family time either. Got it!
-
Yep Ben Gooding. I am sure when they're sitting at home looking at their refrigerator being empty, the first thing on their mind is getting in their car (if they have one) driving to campus (more $) and going to the cafeteria where they may or may not have a meal plan? Get over yourself.

Maybe it's just time to pull our heads out of the sand and realize a vast majority of college students as well as student athletes really struggle to make ends meet. We were all there. The difference between student, and student-athlete, when student is done with classes etc they have the option to go work and make some $. Student athletes entire day is taken up usually from around 7:30-8/9 at night during season. You can call it what you want, entitlement is not anywhere on my radar. These kids bust their ass to represent our university in the best way they can. I'm all for taking away one stress on them. Hell, just go look and Byrds old tweets they used to ask if anyone had food bc their fridge had nothing left and their checks hadn't come in yet. Is that how you want our athletes treated? Not eating or eating crap and expecting them to perform? I find that to be ludacris. On on the flip side, I think the first time something is reported or found out as that money isn't going to the appropriate cause there should be penalties and maybe loss of a portion of it, if it happens a second time no money for a year, a third time and you don't get anymore money. I also loved someone post about violations and under the table money those SEC schools love to do, they should crank up the heat and drop the hammer on those schools. Take 6 hours of practice a week away, take 10 scholarships away.
-
I have 0 belief that they will abide by this, there is no way you have the kind of culture that program has and guys wont be going to clubs or bars
-
yes... I'm sure that'll happen. Come on be serious.
-
That is one potential problem, but with a good OC, it takes two series and you know what they are going to check into automatically when you go Nascar. You see what they get in, now you know I can go tempo, and call this play or that play and expose the defense they get in when facing tempo. Lots of schools will have 1-2 coverages they run in tempo situations and get into a base front whatever that may be and they stay put, less thinking lets the kids slow the game down and play fast. Just get lined up and get ready to go.

National site publishes early look at C-USA hoops league

Should NEVER be in a must win season in year 4 after inheriting the tradition and winning that he did... -
Example. At The Colony, known for the ground and pound smash you in the mouth run it down your throat offense. They even go uptempo sometimes, hurry up to the line, run a second play just to try and catch the defense on its heels or relaxing, all it takes it one player not locked in and it could be 6. whats our record next year?? how many drinks you buying me after the GMG.com game if you're off??
-
90 this year open up means, foot on the gas pedal and go go go go go go go go baby!! I am ready. I think they will be faster pace, to try and wear the defense down. It is smart, how many games have you seen where an Offense goes up against a Bama type SEC defense and they go so dang fast and run so many plays by the 3rd quarter the defense doesn't even know what county or state they're in. I think this, Mcnulty is the starter vs SMU while Smith becomes the starter vs Rice and for the rest of the season.

Thank you to Withers..I have emailed into Coleman waiting for a response. If I don't hear from him or I can't buy them, any season ticket holders out there that I could get to purchase this pack or maybe 2 for me and I can pay back? I am good for it ask @untcampbell lol

I remember when we used to be the talk of the league when JJ was here.. Or at least respected enough to be talked about. Sigh.

Harry, I believe he was prompted by the interviewer and asked about it, he said yes, he has the leadership, drive, blah bla bla that DT had.

I've got a friends mother who has breast cancer and I bet she would LOVE going to a pink out type game. Do you remember who you talked with? I am interested in getting that 10 pack of tickets. That would be fun.
-
What email did that come to? Is it only businesses? That is very cool... I would love to see that email go out to all of UNT

Yeah he will be able to, those are the new styles of jerseys.. very tough to get the pads on but usually get some help from 1 or 2 GAs etc.
