  1. please find 4 of each in the next 3 classes along with some lineman and dl we should be good lol
  2. http://m.meangreensports.com/m/sports/m-footbl/spec-rel/071715aad.html wow wow wow. Read that!! Did not realize they held it the entire time for segment 1, I'm not sure why guys got called/pulled out of run, but man, those 20 guys I knew I missed some that ran an 800, did a segment of push-ups and abs, then ran another 800 with the water in their mouth the whole time.. WOW! Also, I realize it looks like I just took a shot at Calvin, I think he deserved it, even his strength coach said they were counting on him to plug the middle and he can't do that from back of the pack. I however, was unable to watch him during the competitions he was on opposite side and I lost track of him, mainly followed offense, and specifically TE, WR, RB, and Jordan Murray. As to reference what kind of push ups they're doing. The boys had just finished segment 3 or 4 not sure haven't seen video. Either way, I bet no one would want to drag his weight and do wheel barrow lose, then try and do a decent looking push up. Most of the big fellas push ups went to hell in a hand basket after their first event. I'm only a solid 190 and I'm not sure I want any part of that workout. Lol although I may try it just to see how rough it is. These guys want success bad, I got that from the moment I walked into the workout. Be negative about whatever you want, but you can't question these men's work they put in for months and months to play a game for 3-4 months.
  3. @Harry were you there? If so your thoughts?
  4. Well, I showed up a bit late thanks to I35 but when I got there I had a blast! Very cool to see these guys busting their rear ends. One HUGE disappointment to me, the complete lack of effort by Zero, but that was about it. Everything else was awesome! Our TEs looked like the TEs did when I'd be walking campus at OU, maybe a few inches shorter. Our QBs were all getting after it. Means looks the best BY far physically to me. Smith (QB) struggled mightily in their running portion finishing near the back of the pack, but once the other competitive drills came he busted it with the best of them. Order of events (once I arrived) 1 They were finishing up I believe 2 laps ( around both practice fields) where they drank a small Gatorade cup of water but had to keep it in their mouth the whole lap, if they spit it out, they had to "turn their jerseys in" bc they didn't fight for their teammates. At least that is what I gathered from the army guys screaming in their and my face, that's how close I got. 2. Repeat step 1 with no water in mouth and now it was 2 laps, I believe Wilson, jimmy, sed, Calvin, Moore and Khan all absolutely dominated the field, with means not to far behind. Oh also, Wilson Sed Calvin and Moore still had the water in their mouth from the start. Very imressive. 3. Partnered up and did 100 yards of army crawl with dead legs, and a 50 yard barrel race alternating partners (Defense won) 4. Some type of body drag, had ropes or cords of some sort and towels and drug their partner 100 yards and switched (Defense won again) the big boys on OL really struggled in this one 5. Was a 3 man human chair cradle type event. Had to get down and back, they'd blow a whistle to switch partners (person being carried) and would stop them every now and then to do squats. Overall it looked like a very excruciating event, and our boys tore it up and kept their energy up. I really liked what I saw, and man Dillman is an absolute beast. We got very lucky with that one, also Rex Rollins looked like a freaking beast, I think he's grown some too.
  5. Really hope everything is ok for this young man and his family. Prayers.
  6. Boomer Sooner was a great experience... ATM was fun for the history, some annoying fans but neat experience, tech sucked, and Smut was miserable
  7. Sounds to me like panic mode for offense staff/OC QB COACH, and HC. Hope I'm wrong but man I really thought the ball would be rolling by now.
  8. really cool! I'll be there! https://mobile.twitter.com/MeanGreenFB/status/621729512661712896
  9. that makes two of us.
  10. Harry, love that you do this! I'm very excited and interested in this season. I know this schedules tough but it seems the new strength coach ain't playing games. The boys appear to be in much better physical condition and look like D1 football players. I'm thinking that will be what gets us past a good Iowa and Tennessee team!! Lol ok green kool aid.. But I could see us winning one of or both of those games if our offense can be effective.
  11. Great video!! Stepping our game up!
  12. No idea, how many would you attend if you reached out somewhere and heard nothing? Then got offers from OSU and ATM, in between there were Tulane, ODU, and Indiana St. I would be willing to bet he'll end up with 10 + offers.
  13. sorry for the quotes below.. IPAD won't let me remove them. What I am saying is, this kid reached out to UNT before he had all these offers, from the big time schools, and was interested and heard NOTHING BACK. I am sure there are some things and time they'd have to wait before speaking with him as to not be in violation, but come on man. You really want to sit here and argue with two of the top QB recruiters around (Gundy and Sumlin as to this kids chances of making an impact). Yes, only at North Texas can a kid going to the ELITE 11 and THE OPENING contact our staff, basically telling them I want to play for you (that's a guess on my part) and not hear a dang thing!!! Not a we will keep in contact, thanks for sending film in, we will look at it and get back with you, NOTHING. That is pathetic, even if they don't like him, let him know that while you appreciate the effort your going in another direction. THAT is how you build relationships with HS coaches and kids Sorry to be dumb, but who is E.K. Thank you, I knew someone would be that guy and mapquest it out to prove some point to deflect attention.
  14. Hey, come to UNT COMPETE FOR AND HAVE A SHOT TO START AND PLAY FOR 4 years!!! Come be the change to turn this machine around!! We are speeding the offense up, we will pound it to relieve some pressure on you and keep safeties guessing. We are ready to bust out and get it changed, be part of it! You don't even talk bad about other schools, just build up yours. Kids want to be part of change whether y'all believe it or not.
  15. his coach told me this kid wanted to honor the first school that gave him a shot at being a D1 QB bc that has been his dream all his life. I tend to believe a kid like that, if something happened otherwise so be it, but why would you not even extend the offer? Hell we are recruiting kids who have 20-30 offers and we come in at the end, it's one thing to offer first or early. ATM came in late to offer, other than that not a school on their we can't out recruit if we get the right people in front of him. It would be us vs OSU and his family obviously lives in the area and I would be willing to bet they'd love to go watch him play 5 Saturday's a year ;-) got my schedule jab in.
  16. honestly, yes, when I coached there Liberty Christian, UNT stopped by daily, I forget the DC's name (Clint Bowen) we lost him to Kansas. He would come in hang out draw stuff up, heck of a recruiter, heck of a ball coach. He always asked about kids we knew even if it wasn't at our school in the private sector that UNT could target.
  17. Nick Starkel Got hurt early into his JR year, fits the mold of what Mac says he wants in QB with the height, and pro style guy. He and his dad reached out to coaches at UNT and never heard a stinking word.... He now holds offers from OSU and ATM..... Committed to first school who offered, could have and would have been us. He's now at the opening in Oregon and I believe it is also for the Elite 11. I am really struggling to support the current offensive staff. I know these facts bc I spoke with his QB coach who is a friend of mine this weekend about Nick and why he wasn't on UNTs radar or offer sheet. @BillySee58 what do you think? http://www.hudl.com/athlete/2959476/nick-starkel http://sports.yahoo.com/ncaa/football/recruiting/player-Nick-Starkel-169000
  18. Start ground up... Get students involved, win, students have some pride about them, they keep showing up, then they graduate and continue watching, then a fan base is born! I love what Mac is doing, now if he could just recruit a freaking QB I'd be happy
  19. I know that other than 2013 Mac hasn't provided much hope in terms of forcing good QB play, I think his hand is forced this year. Yes, I know that it's ultimately his job, but Chico has been god awful at bringing in QBs, part of it is a system flaw which ee seem to be moving away from. I think our defense even though it is full of new faces will resemble 2013. I believe our Running Game ( If Wilson stays healthy***********) will be light years ahead of anything we have had since Dunbar. This kid is the real deal. You can say I am drinking green Kool-Aid all you want. Watching the secondary fly around during spring game, LBs running sideline to sideline, and the DLINE play was as good as it was without the huge influx of talent we are getting... It is on baby. Y'all realize we have the JUCO Defensive POY in Finney and I believe the JUCO leader in sacks(fact check please.) anyway, quit with all this the sky is falling BS. McNulty will be serviceable (if he's the guy) so long as our O can sustain drives, mix run and pass effectively, and he has more than 1 target. Harris can't do it all by himself, I think Marcus effing Smith, Daniel Khan, Goree, Smiley, and (JUCO can't remember how to spell his name) will provide just that to allow Harris 1 on 1 and then you'd better watch out for he and Goree to do real damage. We just need to get the ball in these cats hands and watch them do their thing. I also believe D'Aundrey Bradley gets it together and makes a big impact at some point. I chatted with one of his coaches the other day (from The Hill) he told me he and D'Aundrey had a long talk and that he (D) said he realized what a dumb mistake he made and how he jeopardized everything he worked for. We shall see only time will tell. Dang. Well, I'll post and watch the over and under reactions. I love me some UNT football! Wish we got another crack at UT this year, in game two where Smith and co, could go down there and show me how we roll.
  20. @Harry what am I doing wrong with my links?
  21. https://mobile.twitter.com/reCash22/status/616071522818494464 Coach Hermann down at UH disagrees... https://mobile.twitter.com/coachtomherman
  22. think that would be worth an email to Mac, or tweet him, Chico, the o-line coach, Byrd, and whoever else you can find.
  23. Ladies and Gentlemen I present to you, Apogee Stadium! They try and say it's not a good thing to be at the top blah blah blah, and the swing shouldn't be as drastic if you dominate your opponents. Anyways, here is the site. Byrd, Capper, and several others have put this link out there. http://www.predictionmachine.com/Home-Field-Advantage-College-Football-2015#.VZKSPiW0wdY.twitter
