What consequences have you felt? I'm not sure I understand
-
Not arguing at all, I wouldn't commit to us either. Maybe he flips late with a new coach. Who knows?
-
Ken McLaurin, darn sad we couldnt win to get him to go to UNT. Kid is a heck of an athlete. I coached him his freshman year he was special then, and I'm sure with time in the weight room and running he has gotten better.

yes, he's been a piss poor AD. Your point? -

Don't give RV any ideas to help him retain his job -
Doesn't he have help with that regard as far as letters from alumni and such that are read before they even make it to him? Even if you address them to President Smastrek, I am asking that as a serious question.
-
How do you know that he ever sees said letters?
-
I personally don't I think you have to see how it turns out, I'm just against RV making that decision or being anywhere near it.
-
I do think they play a much bigger role in the whole thing than they should, but it is the real world and money does carry a MUCH bigger stick than anything else.
-
That isn't true plenty of very wealthy people make stupid decisions daily. Plenty of people who make 50 thousand a year make great financial decisions just have less to work with. Also, the idea that RV is a better candidate than anyone is laughable. Our Athletic Department is inept at best, there is zero communication, we are not on social media (twitter specifically) relaying information. That is a major problem, all of his bad hires aside, one of my biggest problem with this department is everytime I try to buy tickets to an event it is like pulling teeth. Wait on the phone get transfered, have to ask questions to know the answer, take a week to get emailed back (if that is the route I go). That all falls on the AD. He obviously doesn't care, which is stupid. The elite dont fill the stadium up, it is the upper middle, middle, and lower classes that will do that. Yet those are the fans you neglect the most. Doesn't make much sense to me.

MGB: Villarreal -- "We have things we need to finish here"
GMG24 replied to Brett Vito's topic in Mean Green Football
He should not be allowed to make the next BAD football hire, he proved to us through his track record in that sport he can't do it. -
He could be a top rated receiver in the state if he played every year. If I am not mistaken this is his first time to play since MS? He is a good looking athlete.

MGB: UNT lands highly rated Texas player
GMG24 replied to Brett Vito's topic in Mean Green Basketball
uhh, did he decide college ball wasnt for him or was that decided for him?? Thanks for the info, I was interested to see how he panned out, I did not see him as a D1 kid, but you can't teach height. -
I'd take Hudspeth here. He's a winner and he recruits Louisiana and east Texas. Pretty much exactly what we're asking for right?
-
gulp, had my years mixed up. So he was recruited with Bridgewater, and competed with Doughty (spelling) for a job at WKU. Man he must have been a terrible quarterback.

La Tech beating Miss St 14-10 in the second.... Why can't we win?? Gosh edit : 17-10 with 9 minutes left in first half

as well as the 6'10 bean pole we picked up as a walk on from Prosper. -
yeah those 7th graders tally double digit offers from most major programs in the country. The kid has talent, he needs to be coached. He was being recruited to replace teddy bridgewater, let that sink in.
-
They did not put many backups in on Defense until very late in the game.
-
That did happen, but he under threw it allowing the chasing LB to get a hand on it causing it to deflect off WR hands. The thing I want to see D. Smith improve on game to game is taking care of the ball while running. I have no complaints on throws as the errors he made were 100 % technical and due to him being amped up. I agree if he plays early and gets reps from day 1 we win at least 2 games. I saw once for sure that Carlos Harris had to tell D. Smith what the play was towards the end of the game. I quit watching the defense and only fast forwarded to the offensive possessions. I will re watch tomorrow AM, BUT my team had a HS game last night so I didnt get home till 10:30 and tried to watch what I could. I do like what I saw from the offense, and would like to see Chris Miles either get better in a hurry, or be replaced several times his end went right by him and was chasing D. Smith before he could even set his feet.
-
these guys were cover corners in HS, getting used to college game takes time and reps. I'd rather have corners who can cover than corners who can tackle, obviously combo is nice too
-
he and Brooks should be in press man all game. Quit leaving them 8-10 yards off
-
I can guarantee you they prepared for D. Smith knowing if Mcnulty trots out there the game is over before it starts. Just a hunch on my part.
-
I heard it to say a total ban until after the game today so they would be focused.
