I coach in The Colony, see the talent that the Frisco, TC, and LE schools have and put out each year for the past three years. Want to know how many of those kids UNT even offered let alone put the pressure on as far as recruiting? In TC it was 0, sent 3 kids to the Navy, 1 to Iowa. UNT didnt even sniff. We have a RB this year who has 5 offers right now and UNT hasnt even offered. He was invited to camp, brought several other kids with him. It is absolutely mind blowing that you wouldn't try to get at least 4-5 kids from this district every year.

Chris Tomsen according to MANY in the Tx hsfb coaching realm. He's been an HC BEFORE, coached at acu as grad assistant, been at tech under leach, coached bowl for him, been at ASU as Oline coach... brilliant... 18 D1 schools evaluated Smith as a D1 QB.. The same ones who evaluated bridgewater, doughty, and on and on. Yet you somehow project him as FCS at best.

I am definitely down for someone who learned offense from Gus Malzahn, but did he learn how to run a program like him too? That I'd be wary of.

Quick Fix, bench Wallace, slide Judge Fred to MLB, allow Finney to play Weak side, and put Garner at Sam or flip Garner and Finney I really dont care. Those are the three best LB's on the team besides a hurt Bean.

Did they dry up or did those teams actually go out and recruit a competent QB between then and now? Thats what successful programs do, they try to get guys with his talent, when they don't work then they get another one of equal talent the following year.

Yeah I noticed the same thing, that running game is NO joke, watched them play a few times this year and those two RB's do just about whatever they want.

This is his year, with Allen being "semi down" lol is that even possible? They played them so close last year. They have a STUD sophomore RB I forget his name...He will be way to big time for UNT but I'd love to see him running for the Mean Green!

yes Kevin was a stud at ATM. And I've been saying that since day 1. We're a public school, and I'm almost certain HS coaches can still use Public schools in their TRS (retirement account) they pay on your highest paid 5 years. Why not use it to our advantage. He doesn't have to coach some crazy position, make him TE/recruiting guru... Not hard.

I'm talking about ability.

90, come on man. D. smith is an FBS QB. He played Juco ball for 2 years where he could do the stuff he has (tried) to do vs d1 talent and it doesn't work on this level. He's also gone against the two best teams in CUSA, both of which have competed with some of the top programs in the country and gave them fits for quite a bit of time. Not excusing his lack of execution, but no first team or second team reps for 7/8 weeks, 3 days of practice, a Thursday game vs former school, Friday- Sunday off practice Monday-Thursday walk through Friday, plane gets in at midnight night of a 2:30 kickoff, kid hasn't exactly been eased into D1 football. The play calls could probably change a bit to get him more in a rhythm and keep the defense on its heals...all in all I think he shows HUGE promise, he just needs coaching, and game reps. He clearly has the talent.
