  1. That was my question sorry not sure why I didn't elaborate. What causes the room to be open for some games and not others?
  2. why?
  3. let's double down on her salary keep her here!!
  4. Yes really, they're a top 20 team, I'd love to see where we stand in comparison.
  5. Andrew, I went to SMU home opener. I am interested to compare their athleticism with ours. They look like a D1 basketball team, have length that can elevate, and guards who can attack and make shots. Their game day atmosphere is incredible.
  6. I coached against Thompson he has a decent mid range game, not much vertical lift, length is his biggest asset. At the HS level it was enough at the D1 level I don't personally think he has the athleticism or shot making ability to make a difference. I hope I am wrong but seems like the reason he is a walk on and not a D1 scholarship athlete.
  7. Ben Knox had multiple offers coming out of HS ( Oops looks like 1 offer from us) I played against the guy, actually thought he could hack it at D1 level particularly Sun Belt level, he could just chose to go another direction. This guy is a totally different situation than Knox. FWIW
  8. he ain't playing this year, he has height and that's it. Has a TON to work on to be a D1 basketball player.
  9. yeah, he is looking at what football options he has, and if he can possibly do both. Think our new coach would be stupid not to take this kid, his potential is off the charts.
  10. Did not realize he had that many offers, but holy crap I know why. I heard from some MS coaches he was a handful to deal with off the field, but once those lights came on he was something special.
  11. He is special.. Just coached against him, haven't felt that helpless in awhile, another RB who did that was Jay Orji from Frisco Wakeland. 5'6 but that cat can GO
  12. Eno Benjamin, junior Wylie East undersized height wise, but holy crap. Best back I've seen in awhile.. http://www.hudl.com/athlete/3381839/eno-benjamin Billy can you move this to your thread about November recruiting.. Sorry my iPad moved this to the wrong section somehow.
  13. TE only reason we got him is we told him he would get a shot at QB, knowing full well that he's a D1 TE.
  14. fixed except McNair (our first SEC looking recruit)
  15. Weak story, Jimmy is pissed because he ain't making plays and someone else is. Move along.
  16. how's about as a recruiting liaison, QB evaluator.
  17. or coaching what he has, use Smiths strengths, we all agree are RUNNING, and the deep ball, use he and the RB as running read options, with the ability to pull it and sling it 40 yards down field. Keeps safeties occupied, makes them stay out of the box, keeps numbers game simple. Auburn did the same thing (IM NOT COMPARING HIM TO CAM NEWTON) with Cam Newton, run pass option every time, while running the zone-read with the RB. It's a lethal combination.
  18. that was when he was bringing them in on Track scholly's to play Football right? Don't like the violation, but I'm in agreement at least he knows 1. What that player looks like, and 2. Develops them into the NFL prospect.
  19. read this article, then let me know if you would switch his accomplishments with our previous two HC's? The guy is from West, Tx. Has ties out there from Tech days, has ties over DFW from ASU, the TVCC HC has him listed as a professional reference (winner has winner as reference). I am just not seeing how you could so adamantly oppose this guy? All he has done is win, also he ran the Tech program before their bowl game vs Minnesota not exactly the easiest time to take over. http://www.thesundevils.com/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=30300&ATCLID=208250646 sorry forgot the link. The guy is accomplished, he has spent times at major programs and learned from some good HCs. If Riley isn't an option I see no reason for giving him a look.
  20. No, that was a statement. The counterpoint came after that.
  21. you can't post without going on a tirade. How old are you? Someone makes a counterpoint and there you go flying off the handle. Take a chill pill man life ain't that serious. Btw, how do these "wrinkly old nutsacks" do so well in college hoops surely they have to relate to players?? Hmmm your logic is off base. One doesn't have to be young to relate just willing to do things different. Chico ain't exactly in his prime, yet, the players would run into a flaming pile of wood with a squirt gun for him. Why? Because he relates, he has energy, and is creative. Get it?? You don't have to run around screaming F the world, and Get the F out, and Kiss my a if people's opinions are different from yours. There are PLENTY of great football minds who think this guy is more than ready to be our HC. I trust their knowledge of the game far more than yours. Sorry.
  22. then go ride Toledo's jock. For every young hire there are 10 that don't work. He is one who did. 9-4 and a few games that went either way and you're looking at a coach who isn't "successful". He has done some good things but let's not sit here and pretend just because you hire a young offensive minded HC that you'll be successful. You know it isn't true and it's getting tiresome reading your same point over, and over, and over, and over, and over again.
  23. how has his amazing recruiting classes turned out for him? Give it a rest.
  24. your opinion can be validated. Have a buddy pretty high up in coaching world thinks the world of him says he and NT would be a great fit and thinks he could be more than successful here!
