Utep rushing attack may be more than we can handle. They gave la tech a real game. I'm not a betting man, if I was though i would be taking the dog in this one.

Auburn assistant submits resume for North Texas job

but it's North Texas, we have sucked and we suck. Surely we can't hire someone who can recruit AND run a prigram/offense that will attract kids. -

Yep, because SO many kids want to join a triple option offense. Many more would be willing to join an offense at least similar in concept to what they do in HS. You must be on some crazy stuff to legitimately be requesting that UNT run triple option. Do you see what little ole Tulsa has done with spread attack, Temple, Memphis, Houston, TCU (over years changing), Baylor, crap even Nick Saban changed his offense to match modern football. That is only Malzahn's Inside Zone stuff, add outside zone, stuff and look out Did is you read it? It's option football, just modernized and much more difficult to slow down. BTW both your links are the same. -

http://www.collegeandmagnolia.com/2014/8/5/5960709/auburn-gus-malzahn-inside-zone-run-basics read that then get back to me. This offense is greatness when run right. D. Smith and Ivory, Wilson, Etc, fits nicely in this scheme. It allows Goree and Rutherford, along with whatever other receivers we have coming back, Khan etc. I like it. -
YES. because it isn't. I can list on and on reasons to come to NT none of which have anything to do with football or academics. Add those two things to the mix and damn, why wouldn't you come here?

So, out of ZR what passes do you think they need to be able to throw. There are about 5-6 off of PA a QB needs to throw based on ZR play action, depending of course, who you are reading. -

lol auburn runs an option offense just in a zone read style. Come on Ben your are better than that. -
I guess all I am saying is it should be thoroughly looked at. I appreciate your back ground knowledge. None of those QB numbers are crazy good, but their offense kept at it, and had a chance to win. Maybe the no thanks to him was pre mature, but I like what TCU and Baylors offense does much more than OU. While he is successful and a fine OC. My personal preference lies elsewhere. Harry I can't agree more. How we got to the point where we are now is jaw dropping.

what is amazing is watching two other OC's take their 2nd string QB and produce pretty substantial numbers (both on the road) TCU (had 1 week of practice reps and never been a starter, facing number 7 ranked team in country on road), another Baylor who was already playing back up QB he goes down. Let's call in our 3rd string oh wait, we just converted him from WR to QB JUST IN CASE. He steps in and runs the offense like he had been starting from Day 1. Amazing is you guys think this is a knee jerk. I got to watch 3 different OC's all "presumably" interested in this job. Please tell me, based on how they got their QBs ready to play or executed in a mid game crisis (starter/backup going down) who do you want? Trevor Knight used to be OUs starter, he should be more than capable of stepping in and running that offense. Yet which offense looked most anemic? Come on guys, I don't pick to pick, just want our fan base to finally be educated and see what we COULD have.
-
Me either, when they can't move the ball and TCU has their 3rd string LBs in one who just got converted from safety be serious.
-
watching what he's doing with back up QB, no thanks. How can Baylor and TCU play back ups and 3rd string QBs and score/ be competitive. Good grief.

I chuckled last time I drove into town and a flashing sign said warning slow moving traffic ahead UNT game day. I thought to myself they must be talking about our offense. Then I get to the parking lot and it was only half filled, then I realized they WERE talking about our offense.

Unless they are during break I will have a hard time with coaching I have games on Monday and Thursday nights and HS games Tuesday and Friday nights. I wish I had more time to catch games.

I loved Zo to death, however I am not sure I see the comparison (haven't seen a game yet). Edit womp womp. Seems to be a fair comparison looking at scholarship offers.

That was my question sorry not sure why I didn't elaborate. What causes the room to be open for some games and not others?
