No such thing as allowed to protect yourself. You must be in legal guarding position aka establish your spot on floor before offense gets there. He didn't do that, it's a charge. What year is that rule book ;)

In the Mesh concept gif posted above the crossing route is ran by Thad and I can't make other receivers number. The dig which should be between 15-17 is gorgeous. The WR is running a bit too much upfield before the catch (could be where the ball took him I can't see his break from that angle). Look you believe what you want. I agree Mason needs to be better on his fades but I am of the belief it's a timing issue for him and not an arm strength issue. Guess time will prove one of us right and one of us wrong.

There is no doubt he has room to improve. He's a true freshman. There is a reason most freshman redshirt at every college in America. He needs time to adjust to the speed of the game. He made a HUGE jump from the level of his HS play to D1 football. Hell there is a big jump from 6a/5a football in Texas to D1. We also went over why some of those throws were either on the play call/caller or the WR for lining up in a spot that all but guaranteed he was going to fail on those throws.

Look neither you nor I know if he underthrew the sideline fades because they could have been called back shoulder fades which are suppose to be underthrown. His WR this year had a very hard time getting separation from defenders in the first 20-25 yards. That makes a typical fade pass which should be thrown in the 24-30 yard window a possible 35-40 yard window. He doesn't have Alec Morris' bazooka arm.

How many commits does UTSA have? They were never in danger of scholarships being an issue and can sign a full class. These things need to be accounted for, not an excuse but should be looked at.
