  1. My question is this, TheColonyEagle and UNT90: What will it mean to you guys if UNT loses tomorrow?
  2. Word is there is a large UTSA alumni base in the DFW area. If so, I would love to see UTSA show up big just like they did last year at Rice where there is a huge UTSA alumni base in the Houston area. UTSA's crowd was bigger, if not equal to the Rice home crowd. Several thousand strong.
  3. Yeah, I'll be honest, I think UTSA is up to the challenge, but a little luck wouldn't hurt either. The thing here is that there is no history here to really predict the outcome. UTSA is only 3 years old, UNT is just getting back to winning. They've never played each other and both are new to the conference. A lot of speculation in this game. Until, both schools are about 2-3 years deep in CUSA, with some history against some of the same opponents and each other, we'll just have to be happy with speculation. Thus, I can't wait for this long two week break to be over so we can just finally see what happens when these two teams play. Good times. Anyway, good luck to the Mean Green as well. They have a right to be confident, but they too have a lot riding on this game as well. Plenty of pressure on both teams to prove things Saturday.
  4. Yeah, Glasco is a major loss to or offense but the way Jarveon Williams has been sparking and if Evans Ojatcha can give us solid downs we should be ok. oc eric brown has had 2 weeks to figure it out. What im interested to see is how our hard hat d holds up against the unt run game. Our d has been just about as tough against the run as UNT. It's UTSA's secondary that i look for UNT to exploit, that's been the Achilles heel of UTSA all season, but during this 3 game win streak theyve really come together. With UNT only being favored by 8, hold on to your shorts, it's gonna be a fun one. Shoutout to my fellow UTSA reporter, Jerry Briggs!
  5. The only problem i have with this statement is that many of us Roadrunners actually prefer Popeyes over KFC.
  6. What's with all the hate on my Roadrunners? Y'all are really killing my good time vibes i have here at UNT! Haha I don't know who will win, but the point spread will be 7-10 points. I love what UNT is doing this season and have worn my green to a couple games. But when 11/23 comes around, it's all orange and blue for me.
  7. To quote Lee Corso, "Not so fast, my friend..." UTSA's only big conf loss was against Marshall. And that was after a brutal stretch of Ok St, Arizona, and Houston. UTSA really needed that first bye week several weeks ago. In west div. conference play, they lost only to Rice by a TD. The same Rice UNT faught with to beat. And now they beat Tulane, the team UNT lost to. It's the wild wild west! But still UNT is serious business. Im kinda torn, because if UNT wins out, they have a strong chance to host the CUSA title game. Would love to have that in Denton.
  8. The bowl eligibility situation is weird because technically, by ncaa rules, UTSA isn't eligible since their supposed to be in their second year of reclassification. However, if they win out, and go 7-5, they could go to a bowl if there aren't enough 6 win teams to fill bowl spots. That's what Larry Coker said. I think Tx St. is bowl eligible. I think last year was their one year of reclassification. UTSA is different because they're a new program, TxSt is not.
  9. We (UTSA) are dangerous. Sloppy game back home in the dome today, but they had some key injuries, too. One, being the starting rb David Glasco. I can't claim victory for UTSA, but they do play till the end. And they're battle tested with one of the toughest schedules in the nation. Once they got a bye week, things started clicking. 3-0 since then coming into the UNT game. UTSA v UNT setsup to be a very even matchup.
  10. Thanks, Harry. Great info and very helpful. I think I'll be pulling into the Fouts Field parking lot and doing my thing there with some fellow Roadrunners and some Mean Greens. Man, yeah, the UTSA vs UNT game is huge for me personally, but yes, UTSA is taking care of some big business with Tulane as I type this. Hopefully, if they pull out the upset, it will set up for a huge match up against UNT. Looking forward to participating on this board.
  11. What's up, guys! I'm a UNT tailgating newbie. I'm in my second semester at UNT. I'll be tailgating for the first time out here at UTSA vs UNT game. I'm so psyched about this game - it's my two schools knockin' heads. I'm a proud UTSA alum, but I really love studying graphic design at UNT. I have some basic tailgating questions: - Where are the best places to pull up, pay for parking, and set up my tailgate? - The Hill - do I need to rent a spot to tailgate there? or can you just go plant yourself for free? - What about the parking lot next to the Hill, can I pay for a spot and set up my tent there to tailgate? - Im assuming I can also tailgate in the Fouts Field parking lot, too, correct? - What about alcohol? My tailgates aren't filled with alcohol, but I'd like to know if we're allowed to have glass or cans, etc. Thanks for any help on this. I'm pumped for this game! Don't overlook UTSA FYI, I'm also the co-owner and publisher for Insiderunnersports.com, the official FoxSportsNext.com affilate for UTSA. So I like to talk football and basketball and baseball... and well sports! haha
