  1. Hey, im excited about the Littrell hire. But does anyone know what his career w/l record/s as a coordinator were before this past season?
  2. Sounds like Lynn Hickey has been set on somebody the whole time. I really liked Luper. Sucks he stayed at TCU. Yes. Next question.
  3. I dont. It represents me: both of my institutions. UNT taught me graphic design... the skills used to create that eagle. *shrugs*
  4. There is interest. Baliff might be looking to coach and play in front of more than 2k people on saturdays. Not trying to knock Rice, but they are competitive in cusa and no one goes. Also, it looks like UTSA is ready to offer about 800k/year to the next hire.
  5. What's up MeanGreeners! It's been a while! Interesting things happening down in SA. Im just hoping in all that UNT and my team in SA rise to the top one again. Hopefully AD Hickey gets some young blood as UNT did in this hire.
  6. In my short time here and from what I've seen Canales do this year and what I've heard he did pre-McCarney, he deserves a full year tryout. If only to prove that he can manage a solid team. It's too easy to look good when teams dont have tape on your game plan - coaches are creatures of habit. Nobody has real video on Smith at the QB spot. If he pulls off a winning record in his short time at HC this year, give him the spot next year. If he can duplicate it, then it's real. If not, well the success was just like any other player/team who catches teams off guard only because they've never seen them. It's that sophomore season that can bite-ya!
  7. I wore Orange and Blue. They're good complimentary colors.
  8. And I just realized, that any time I try to type _____runners in one word, I get $5 fill-ups. LOL what gives. Also, you'll have to deal with my orange and blue eagle. I'm kinda here to stay.
  9. Honestly, I don't know what would make a good hire. The key word here is "splash hire" for sure. But like I've been saying: how long would he stay? 2-4 years (good or bad)? Has a few bad seasons, isnt up to task, goes back to Baylor. Or, has a great turn around here and is offered a P5 contract and jumps ship. I think I'll just keep feeding the Applewhite fire, if that's a real fire, and knowing he would be in the same ship I see Briles in. Does Jimmy Johnson really like his job at Fox? LOL
  10. Congrats to my Mean Green! A much needed shot in the arm. Although, I would've much rather see them get that win against another team. lol Oh well. RIVALRY is officially on North Texas!
  11. Umm... Im just gonna say congrats to my Mean Green on beating my $5 Fill-Ups. But let's not call UTKFC the worst team in the country. Rough season for both teams.
  12. Cr1028, clearly that stadium is not on-campus. It's downtown. Duh. Let's try not to make our UNT fans sound dumb.
  13. and it should make you laugh. Its funny how much money is thrown at football these days, no matter the school.
  14. So if building bigger better facilities is the answer to winning, how is it that UNT Soccer just won a conference title with only about 10% of what the football team has.
  15. If that's the starting point - not a bad start.
  16. It's Halloween night, bust out the black!! All black, helmets included! Would be awesome if UTSA was in their all orange as well.
  17. HA! Yeah, take that, UTSA! You got 'em good, guys. Zing!
  18. This is where I wish we had natural fields. I would really love to see a classic muddy slugfest on Saturday.
  19. Can I throw out the name of Jon Kitna, former Dallas/Detroit QB who is coaching down in Waxahachie. I think he's already making around 90k and has turned that HS team around. He's a name, plenty of pro experience and has now learned to coach up youngsters. Aaaand I think he's sitting OK money-wise. Meaning he might be willing to stick around regardless of other big offers down the road. Just sayin...
  20. LOL. yes be confused. Bwahahahaha. My plan is coming together. Seriously, Im talking about UNT here. Throwing money at it doesn't fix the wound. It's the coaching and recruiting culture that we need to fix. Yes, this is my one week in the season I fully embrace the dark side (or Orange side you could say), but I do love my Mean Green. Ive been to all the home games this season and even went to the SMU game. I want both UNT and UTSA programs to succeed. My dream is to see both of my schools meet up in the final game of the season 11-0 and ready to knock the crap out of each other year-in-year-out.
  21. The only issue is UTSA's QB situation. It's the X factor in this game and how UTSA's season has gone thus far. Strum is still getting his feet wet in all this. Honestly, This game is 50/50 just like the last two meetings. UTSA has just made the extra plays to edge out. This is a good rivalry for both schools.
  22. We can build all the facilities we want, it wont make a winner. Right now it'll take a long term coach who can coach up at the CUSA level, and make a perennial contender for the CUSA title
  23. I'm like the heel in wrestling here. I love the hate, I live off the hate! LOL
