  1. Happy Thanksgiving, y'all. I'm thankful for my two schools offering a great football rivalry. Cheers to an awesome end of year showdown in Denton.
  2. I think about this all the time. I was at the 2013 game that created the rivalry. And because it's a rivalry, all the records go out the door in that game.
  3. UTSAs football team will keep their name up in the AAC. But their overall athletics needs work. Really, and this is no big secret, the immediate work they need is to get a new basketball arena. I really hope they figure it out in the next year or two.
  4. UTEP just needs to sit tight a bit. The realigning is long from over. With BYU in the Big12, they will need some western friends *cough* Boise *cough*. The Mountain west won't say no to them for long. Unless that long aged grudge is still there and they back fill with New Mexico State out of spite.
  5. I like the SP. it just needs new seating. No knee room for this 6'3" dude.
  6. I think Jeff Traylor stays at UTSA for 1-2 more years. But his coaching staff may be gutted. See Seth Littrell after having a few years of success. It sucks at the G5 level you can be good, just don't be too good because there's a heavy price to pay to the p5 gods.
  7. I love the MWC. UTSA is at the doorstep of the Southwest and it feels right culturally. Buuuut, the smart move is to move East. There's more wiggle room to add teams come the next realignment. And also, I like the idea of possibly being in a division with both Rice and Tulane - will do wonders for UTSA to keep upping their academic game.
  8. Good. Because I wasn't going to change it. Hahaha. Glad you all can take a sly joke. Now, let's talk about the future and the AAC. Solid moves picking up Texas teams. A lot of people are overlooking what Rice brings to the table. Yes, they are in the Houston market but man they do a lot for the conference just on academics alone. We often forget we're universities first. With them and Tulane possibly in the same division - solid.
  9. If this is really a problem, my fellow mean greeners, I can remove it.
  10. True! Will the AAC conference title game now be presented by Ryan Tax?
  11. My apologies, @Salsa_Verde I've learned to live with it. We will get through this. Maybe I should've used the flying worm?
  12. An orange diving eagle, I believe! 😄 UNT's Comm Design program gave me the power and ability to create these types of wonderful atrocities.
  13. UNT might be in a $$ situation now. Do you hold out on the SL contract to save money to pay the CUSA $3mill buyout in a year or two? Not sure how long SL has left on his contract.
  14. Marshall and WKU should contact the MAC. It would be an upgrade to that conference with bit more money in their TV contract.
  15. My understanding is the new CUSA teams would come in at discount and build up each year. Last I heard about 2-3 mill for the CUSA additions while the current AACers maintain that 6-7 mill.
  16. Howdy y'all! It's been forever since I've been on here. So much good news happening for my Runners and Mean Green. I'm pumped for this move. I know someone already shared a map of the new conference alignment, but here a logo only image. I dig this. However, I'd much prefer to see Memphis in the West with us and Navy stay East geographically. If Memphis were West, just about every Div. game is driveable.
  17. This helmet design is pretty cool. However, the video and examples are usually concerned with collisions from the top of the head. What about the side impacts? The ball carriers that get blind sided by tacklers and take hits to the ear sides of the helmets. Still, this product is still being developed and looks like they are moving safety in the right direction.
  18. Hey saw there was some talk about the UT system on here. Wondering if i should participate.... No? Ok, just sayin howdy. Aaaaand... im back. i hope UH goes Big 12 so it can open a spot in the AAC for pffft... i dont know... a school in the DFW market or *cough* san antonio market *cough*
  19. At the end of all this smack talk i keep reading from and against both schools, Littrell and Wilson have a lot of hype and plenty to prove. On one side, a proven offensive guy and on the other a proven recruiter. And both now have to prove they are capable of doing so without P5 school names on their business cards. Im excited. And i really think this rivalry just took another huge step forward. I just hope both young coaches will stick around to get these programs really going. Because let's be real, both programs sucked this year, and it was a whole lot better when both were playing for a conference title game spot.
  20. Just to clarify, Wilson was not just a position coach. There's a reason he was being paid so much, he was also the associate head coach.
  21. Cool. I had been seeing these numbers and was trying to make sure i wasnt missing something. You cant take away the year he just had. And I expect to see him come out guns blazing as a young head coach. With the Mean Green.
  22. Yeah, agree about it not being exact. So i thought id ask if anyone else knew
