  1. For all those wanting to fire SL, who are you expecting the school him to replace him with? You would have to expect the rest of the coaching staff to be out, as well as many players hitting the transfer portal. It would almost certainly mean a full program rebuild, am I wrong?
  2. its on Stadium TV channel 1159 on smart TV, or use the stadium app.
  3. 6 or 9 percentile... Saint Mary's is riding a 20 game home winning streak, longest in their schools history (though you could say they are due for a loss). Snooping around their fan forum, they think they are a top 25 team, though they did not receive any votes in the preseason poll (UAB actually received 1).
  4. I think its to late, the team is bowl bound and they will certainly use the premise as a recruiting tool.
  5. Golden Age? No not yet, UNT is playing in a very poor athletic conference at the moment, and one that has been on the decline for several years now. If this success transfers to the AAC, then we can start thinking about a golden age.
  6. He is built more like an NFL QB, he also has an interesting story (stories are marketable in the NFL). So he may not get drafted, but he will get some looks, probably a try out or camp invite.
  7. Very fair ranking, WKU at 67. SI has seemed to suggest in other aricles that CUSA could be a multi bid conference, 3 schools in the top 70 is another indication of that. Last year the media really hyped up the Mountain West, and as I recall they got 4 schools in, none of them doing well.
  8. It is a weaker OOC schedule for UNT. WKU and UAB also have fairly weak OOC schedules.
  9. Universities have traditions, its what separates them from other institutions... more and more this institution seems to be run as if its just another community college in the Dallas suburbs.
  10. more Q1 games and Q1 wins should be the goal, being in the AAC will certainly help
  11. I dont think his job hinges on winning a bowl game, because the end of December is to late to start a coaching search. I dont think its in Littrell's hands anymore, I think it depends on what other potential coaches become available.
  12. Hes not great but he's not terrible either, I think he coaches above the abilities of his players... but who is the alternative? what direction is the university really willing to go in hiring a new coach?
  13. It was pointed out to me yesterday during the game that the play calling seems to be above the abilities of the players. The line couldn't get the run game going, most of the receivers struggled to find seems, and the QB play was sloppy.
  14. Parking needs to be better, pay where you park with cash or card, that way if I decide to bring friends then they can tailgate next to me. The alumni pavilion needs to be better, better food and drinks add some TVs, and lets not take 30 min to check people in.
  15. I thought I remember one game on ESPNU last year (might have been the year before). Personally I like ESPN+ decent quality and easy to manage, and a lot of sports bars now have it. With CBSSN and Stadium I never know if I can get it through my cable provider, and trying to find those channels at a sports bar is not always easy.
  16. I think it depends on the program, the big programs always have good players lined up want to play.
  17. How many coaches out there have actually won a G5 championship over the last 10 years? what would it cost to bring one to UNT, knowing you would probably have to lure one here?
  18. school payed $2 million to get to the post season 5/6 years. if you want to win a championship then find a more expensive coach that can do that.
  19. and how many of those programs are happy with their coach year over year??? the next coach is not always better. $2 million and a bowl game 5 out of 6 seasons, there are plenty of schools at the bottom that would take that deal, even if they loose the bowl games.
  20. if I am so wrong, then who are these established coaches that are lined up to take SL's job for less money? The only ways the next coach is cheaper is either going to with a first time D1 head coach on a "prove your worth deal" or is going to be a coach that failed elsewhere and is trying to resurrect his career.
  21. Not a lot of established coaches are lined up to coach at UNT. So in order to lure an established coach here they will have to pay above market price.
  22. UNT is not in the same boat as other programs, there are not unlimited resources to offer coaches, as well as recruits. and how often does it work for other programs, even the big ones?
  23. UNT is not a football power program, those programs always have talented recruits lined up. Sure if they bring in a big name coach, more players might stick around. However there is no indication that will happen, and players want a sure thing I am sure many are already looking around for next season.
  24. The bottom of the conference is weak, so for CUSA to have a multi bid March the top schools will have to get some positive OOC results.
  25. If the coach is out, then you have to believe the rest of the staff is going to start looking for a new program, and players will enter the portal. It will mean a long term rebuild.
