  1. A website really... is this 2005??? They should have an app for this already. I should be able to pull out my phone between a touch down and a PAT make a small donation.
  2. The university does not do a good job of asking for money, I have had a few phone calls always at the wrong time. A letter would be a good start, however I would like to see an app that we could donate directly through (no 3rd party BS), see how much is being raised, and other stats. That way if I am at a UNT event or watching a game, and I get that sudden urge of generosity, I can pull out my phone and make a quick donation in a few seconds.
  3. looking at the all the conference teams, the top 4 teams (FAU, Memphis, UAB, and UNT) do play a lot of home and away games, which is what you want if you are trying to push a multi bid conference. Memphis and UNT only play once, however they both play SMU twice, which will really push the DFW media market. I really think the AAC did a good job putting the schedule together.
  4. probably the toughest conference schedule in a while... 3 schools finished 22/23 in quad 1 (along with UNT), 4 more schools in quad 2.
  5. Get out and watch games... get your brand in front of people's eyeballs, and you create brand awareness. Go out to your favorite sports bar and have them put the game on, bring your friends, make it a regular thing. It would be nice if someone would compile a list of DFW area sports bars that are committed to showing the games.
  6. stick to bigger markets, bigger population areas, thats going to translate to more eyeballs on screens which means more $$$. I think that business model might be able to convince some schools outside the region to have interest, especially if they fit that model. schools like UNLV and SDSU fit the model, and could turn the AAC into a very lucrative conference.
  7. If the P12 was going to keep what ever status it has as a "power conference" then they would have received better offers for a media deal.
  8. So your entire basis is that some of the other teams might be just as bad? I'm not trying to be negative, I'm being realistic that this is a rebuild.
  9. Based on what??? new coaches, new players, new system... every aspect of the game is seeing major changes.
  10. Rebuild. Lots of changes, the program got a late start to recruiting and the transfer portal, still a lot of questions and a lot of "ifs". The AAC is much tougher conference, and I dont see a lot of wins this season (2 or 3 wins).
  11. I think for the right deal they would, though it may not happen until the trade deadline. They are going to need a solid center to make a run and hardy is a piece that I think other teams will want.
  12. I think MIles got the last 2 way contract, but jelly should already have an E10. I think both Jelly and Miles at times played better then Hardy. The Mavs already have enough guards, but they need a center, so I can see Hardy being part of a trade.
  13. I am not really mad about this, the AAC is going through some restructuring and I want this conference to be as strong as possible. Going in to 23/24 I think this can be a 2-3 (maybe 4) bid conference.
  14. how does reducing scholarships punish a team if the players can still be paid?
  15. What is the Pac12 going forward? its certainly not what it once was, and it continues to trend down. sure they could spend a lot of money, but what do they get in return, other then putting a Pac12 logo on their jerseys.
  16. He left our program better then when he first joined it, cant fault him for that. anyway... hows UNT's OOC schedule looking?
  17. If there is money to be made, then they will make a deal
  18. kids and families... what about the education side? with all these transfers, are these student athletes still able to stick to a degree plan and graduate? I know most credits transfer, but degree plans can differ from school to school. I am worried that some players may sacrifice their possible educational achievements in order to play ball.
  19. I dont buy it... Last week SDSU came out and announced that they were staying in the MWC, if they were only a few days away from formally joining the PAC12 , then why make a stink of it? Colorado and Arizona still seem to think that they are headed to the big12. I dont see how anyone is offering them a deal, if membership for so many schools is still up in the air.
  20. In this era of college football, programs can not wait until after bowl season to make a coaching change. Players start looking around for new teams as soon as they are unhappy with their current team, so programs need to have their shit together prior to the transfer window opening. UNT waited to long to make a decision about 2023 and that will have cost them in recruiting, re-recruiting, and the transfer portal.
  21. I tend to agree with 3-4 wins... This program threw away their 2023 season last year when they held on to SL to long in 2022. I also agree it will take a few seasons to get this program on track to be competitive in the AAC.
  22. Its clear he intended to resign, he went through the entire process, talking to the team, the AD and sending in a letter, it was all over the media, why wait until now? some players have already entered the portal, some have already left, its a mess even if he wants to come back.
  23. Getting the DFW community interested is a good point. I met a couple people at basketball games last season that had no connection to the universities that jut came to see a good ballgame.
  24. The school needs to build back the fan base, starting with the students. I dont see enough students at games (football or basketball), even in the past when teams were not doing well I still remember seeing a larger proportion of students. I think the alumni does a good job of showing up.
  25. Seems like more then a few Pac12 schools are not happy with their potential payout from a new media deal, and if they dont get what they want then they will leave. None of the media outlets are keen to even make a deal knowing these schools are on the verge of leaving. They may have to end up using their own pac12 network and offer direct to consumer, however there are no guarantees on payouts.
