  1. The problem is you just dont know which schools will be quad 1 schools when you schedule them. The projections had UNT as 7th in the AAC, which would have put us at a Q2/Q3 school.
  2. I think this could be a closer game then people think, WS is desperate for a win in conference play.
  3. But none of those remaining games are Q1 games, and only 3 of those games look like they will be Q2 away games.
  4. First off, there is still a lot of season to play. I am not sure an at large bid would happen to a team with out any Q1 wins, even to be considered as a bubble team they would need to get some votes in the top 25 polls first. Most of the projected brackets I have seen have UNT outside looking in, with about 8-10 teams in front, so who would they pull out? Things in other conferences would have to work out just right for UNT to get in. Is the AAC a two bid conference? I have slowly watched Memphis drop from a 4-5 seed a couple weeks ago to a 8-9 seed in several weekly bracket projections. All of those assume Memphis is the winner of the conference championship and automatically qualify. But what if they are not? What if they loose in the semifinals?
  5. could play them in the NIT...
  6. UNT can not afford the exit fee, but they may not have to. If other schools start to pull out the media deal will start to fall apart, it might come to a point where it dosen't make sense for UNT to remain in the AAC, and they let us go.
  7. Good for TX State, thats going to be a very good conference, and they will probably have a leg up on regional recruiting over UTSA and UNT because of it. It is interesting that they do not have at least one other regional school to go with them, just to make a trip to Texas worth it. As soon as the ACC law suit is settled, the AAC will be raided, I dont see UNT getting an invite.
  8. What happens those prospective students who are on the waiting list to get into their prospective university, that see a football player jump the line and take a student spot? Are they even student athletes anymore?
  9. These bowl games are exhibition games, so meaningless they are virtually jokes . Start an all freshman team, or use those guys at the end of the bench that never get to play, or let your cheerleaders play.
  10. The team has had some quality wins, but they haven't had a Q1 win, and UNT teams of the past have had those victories. However this team does play together very well, no single player is carrying the all the weight, and just about every bucket they get takes 5 guys doing their job.
  11. These are STUDENT athletes, most universities will not accept transfers in January because they have limited spots in their classes and they are already full. Besides, there is still a spring transfer window.
  12. This is a good team, but no Q1 win yet. I think this team has evolved quite a bit, and the coaches have figured something out.
  13. I think Duke will be fine and likely be a 1 seed in the tournament, the ACC is not as strong this year so they really don't have a lot of competition left. Auburn vs Tenn, they play at Auburn later this month so we will see. Memphis at #18? They were punching above their weight class in OOC play, and undefeated in conference play, I think thats fair ranking for now. I could see them as a 5 seed now, but any loss on their remaining regular season schedule could bump them down to an 8 seed.
  14. Getting alumni there is one thing, but why are the students not attending games?? The students live there, the team is doing well, why are they not attending games? I can remember years when the team was not so good, yet the students showed up, and the student population was a lot smaller back then.
  15. They dont need to be in a conference with us in order to play them... OOC portion of the schedule is almost 2 months long. And in the past UNT has play big name schools at home.
