HA! Please do. It would be beyond interesting. So many people on here who want to smugly smile and say "See? I told you so!". It seems to me that that SOME act almost disappointed when they have to admit that they may have been wrong about the improved North Texas football team. So, they find something else that they can aim frustrations and ill feelings towards (Well.. But... "whatever" still sucks). A little sad to me.

I agree that this thread is premature, but you can't honestly suggest that he hasn't done anything to significantly benefit the program. WHY are you always more snippy when we win? Its kinda weird.

While being a pathetic (but true) excuse for a positive: WE just won two games in a row for the first time since 2004. We're talking about winning conference and bowl games. I'd say that's a significant difference. Most recruits look at program directives, coaches and how they see themselves in a program/school first. Everything else, while being important, is secondary. He has undoubtedly had a huge positive effect on this football program. If three years is exactly when that's supposed to happen, then I guess he's on schedule.

Hasn't he already done a bunch of what many projected would never happen? Most importantly- hasn't he already started to restore the terrible reputation that North Texas has had in the football community? Wasn't that a near impossible and highly unrealistic feat at the beginning of this season? Keep this man here PLEASE. He has already lit a match. Imagine what he can do with another 3 years....

This is actually true. BUT- after MTSU.... if I were playing us, it would all depend on which team came out to play that day (making us incredibly inconsistent and unpredictable). Obviously, at this point we all know we're going to force the run in the first quarter. Sometimes it works and sometimes..... DT looked uncomfortable passing the first half and to be honest every time he throws the ball my stomach hurts. As long as this team continues to improve every game and not fall into the same bad habits of the preseason (which are still present, but shadows)- we are on everybody's hit list for the rest of the season and surprisingly have become (with Rice) the team to beat. AND WHAT AN AWESOME SURPRISE.

You know, I asked my husband about this (who did play college football for 5 years) & he said aside from a few more butts in seats and a "don't lose or it's going to be really embarrassing" kind of mentality, there's really not a whole lot of difference in homecoming and any other home game. Obviously, you schedule the worst team on your schedule for homecoming, so outside of the motivation that you shouldn't lose.... nothing really. High schools make a bigger deal. That being said, it is kind of insulting to be scheduled for a homecoming. Tulane's win was a gift to them and mark my words it will come back and bite us before the season's over.
