  1. You better stop that. You start being too optimistic then everyone will think you are on something.....
  2. Yeah... I followed Jeff and John around Austin for like 12 miles in smoldering heat in search of beer. After 5 hours of profuse sweating... We chose air conditioning instead of the outdoor bar they chose. Maybe next time. :/ They did however, lead us to beer. And Jeff didn't lie to me when he said there would be Moscow Mules at Silo. These are truthful guys who will lead you to beer. We love ESSC and Oak Street. (Can I have a shirt now?).
  3. 27-10 North Texas. (Last week was a trick.) Attendance- 28,000ish
  4. Ultra is gross.
  5. The sign that I saw when I was up there was for Bud, Coors and something else I can't remember... I know that it was not Miller. And they are $6.00.
  6. This thread has really derailed. You all need help.
  7. I'm so confused.
  8. I now like you more.
  9. I didn't. And in the Junior mean green club.....
  10. He's definitely "special". And creepy. What do y'all think those $MUt people did to him?
  11. I don't hate him. He's a bit creepy, though.
  12. Anyone I know and like want a ticket?
  13. Agree to disagree.
  14. Is Ben Gooding a brother of "Meangreener" ? Oh and you, sir..... Are awesome.
  15. To keep with the tradition/ superstition of last year (because it worked out well for us)- I've got my pom poms out and here is my "It's all going to be ok" post of 2014. Put down the bottles of booze, paraphernalia and knives. I'm concerned for a few of you. Last season didn't happen by accident. We have something special happening within our program. Granted, we didn't get to see that on Saturday in a home opener at the university of Texas with Charlie Strong's first game as head coach. It's still going to be okay. Here's why- 1- We have a lot more to lose than SMU and half the teams we will play this year. Our guys want it more. Not only to stomp any ideas of last year being a fluke season- but I think this group understands what it feels like to WIN and it's finally unacceptable to this football team to lose. Most of us didn't think we were going to beat Texas. Nobody thought our quarterbacks were gonna look that awful, but there wasn't much of a surprise with the ending score. We have momentum. The assumptions that last Saturday killed anything good we had rolling with this program are silly. 2- Our defense is arguably the best defense in our conference. We quickly forget that most of the preseason concerns were about losing most of our defensive starters. Our Defensive Coordinator doesn't say much- but we have it on good authority that we are further along this year than we were last year. After watching our first game of this season- I doubt many of us would disagree. 3- Dont make me dig up the Derek Thompson posts of August 2013. We had a brand-new juco SOPHOMORE quarterback make a really bad showing in a very difficult game. Let's be careful not to throw him into the fire before he's even been fairly tested. And if you think that was a fair test of what kind of quarterback he could/ will probably be- How many teams as talented as Texas do you think we will play this year? Have a little faith in the coaching staff that brought you a bowl MVP QB that most of you despised last year. And getting tired of hearing that doesn't make it any less true.... 4- If you honestly want to know how far this program has come- go to lunch or dinner anywhere in Denton, Texas. UNT wear is everywhere. If you can't remember how many more Denton HS shirts, sweatshirts and hats you saw than mean green wear just a year ago..... You probably don't live in the Denton area. It wasn't that long ago. I still instinctually want to go and say "GMG" to those people I see out because there were so few of us. Now, they're everywhere and it would be weird. We have gained more in just a years time than most programs can put up in five (see- SMU). AND yes- I realize most of you were waiting far longer than that so you can save it. People are starting to care again about this football team. It's contagious. Families are starting to view 'going to a game' as a treat rather than just accepting tickets from someone who got them free from their employer and didn't want. That's a huge step to climb. Are we going to be a P5 school in the next 10 years? Probably not. Which is also the same reason that we shouldn't compare ourselves to them and forfeit any hope for a good season after we get squashed by the sexiest school to athletes in Texas. Keep your pants on. The worst of this year is behind us. Oh and let's not let this be the sloppiest tailgate ever... Those ponies have been hitting the sauce (only 40 year old Macallan's, I presume) a little too hard. You can feel a bad juju through the computer screen. This may- in fact, be the worst game to start selling alcohol at Apogee. 11 am may be a Godsend.
  16. OMG..... What the hell has happened here?
  17. WTF? You ALL need to sober up... We have a game in 4 days.
  18. Ummm... Ewwwwww...
  19. If you are into that fake, self absorbed type of thing... I agree.
  20. This! And you do not have to be from UNT to dislike the entitled ponies....
  21. I already did. . Texted out this morning....
  22. This is correct... NOW. Not when they were still flirting with the idea of not redshirting Connor. This could also change (as we all know) being that he is traveling. A lot can happen either way in the next three home games.
  23. I just spit coffee all over myself. Buyers is going to get crap for this. Awesome....
  24. Bump. He's going to have a good year.
