Now Cerebus.....you know people get filleted on here for supporting our coaches openly. And you know what they say about people who "assume".

Something people continue to fail to understand is that the people/ players on here that are weekly blasted are worth more than your curiosities. If the Coaching staff wanted the public and the Fanbase to know why they made all of their decisions- I am more than certain that they would come to this panel of experts first. That said- don't put words in my mouth or make heavy assumptions based on five sentences.

I'll take this and help you, MeanGreenD..... You all don't have all of the information. Period. I agree. He was a heck of a lot better. It may be a moot point or they may not have a choice to play him depending on how they see the bigger picture. But - if you had all of the intel and are not just interested in building a season, but a program- doubt most of you would feel the same. That's all that I'm saying on this subject.

We sit near people like this EVERY game. Drives my husband and brother nuts. My mom usually ends up friends with them.

This. And last half of Cerebus statement. And I would also add- "Get your head out of your ass and show up to play". What was their pre-game meal? Don't do that again. They literally looked like they were on Quaaludes. You don't just go from "good team that's doing well on several things" to "we have the worst team in the world and now we need a new defense", too? I watched the new BEYOND THE GREEN right before I replayed last nights game today and they were two completely different teams. SO- CONSISTENCY. And that also speaks to the fact that we still have a young team that's still most definitely trying to figure out who it is going to be this year. Looks like we are in for a bumpy ride. OHHHH! And if the football hits you in the hands and you don't catch it- THAT IS NOT ON THE QB.

June Jones is a good coach. From what I understand, recruiting and environment seem to be the problem for SMU...? You are already branded (us, not so much) and most households who watch football know who you are (us, not so much). At this point- where are you going to find a better coach? I'm sure you guys can hire recruiting department and better HR personnel. You can change your coach and and coaching staffs, ( and maybe it is just that time for a change ) but that's not going to fix your biggest problem. This was a problem for us at the beginning of last year and seems to be the stark, obvious difference between our programs even before we played yesterday. And allow me to say this without being torn apart- As far as money and recruiting goes: SMU has had a clear edge. Looking at this liberally- there's no good reason why you guys were killed yesterday. Except maybe this...... Your Fan base, your athletes and your coach seem to have no "hope". It was sad to see and easy to recognize. I know a few SMU players and they seemed defeated before they even touched the field yesterday. Recruits can smell this too. Sports is 60% mental. It impacts a game more than talent (at times). <Ex- See Josh Greer versus UT> And I don't mean to stereotype but if most of your students and Fanbase would get their heads out of their own waxed and bleached asses- maybe they would learn about loyalty that isn't only self-serving.

I don't understand that if I call and ask if I can only get my two kids in the game, (who both play football& cheer and are under 10) I get told that they have to pay adult price for a ticket. They are way louder than 95% of college kids. I'll pay it but... crap. $40 a kid. I'm glad I stopped at 2.

And allow me to put this to bed right now..... Unless something really freaky happens- Means is redshirting.
