  1. 7-5 if we win Saturday 6-6 if we lose Saturday. I have two reasons for optimism: A very inexperienced defense should improve a lot as the season goes on. And with strong quarterback play our offense could be something special. I'm not worried, as I expected to be 2-3 at this point anyway. I just picked the SMU and La Tech games backwards.
  2. Given our offensive line, quarterback, running backs, and some skinny guys who can get after a quarterback, Give me 45-21 UNT.
  3. My wife and I joined the alumni association last year, and I fully expected a phone call or email about season ticket opportunities, etc---not a word. I bought season tickets anyway, but was disappointed that we were missing such an easy marketing opportunity. With this stadium, student body size, and recently competitive team, a good marketing guy could make this thing rock. Beer sales should help.
  4. You're right, we don't have all of the information. If there is a deal-killer for letting DW start, then let's give Conner Means a chance. From early reports, he's the real deal. We can only improve.
  5. I think this is exactly Mac's dilema. Another (probably bad) analogy is that we have salespeople who know the product well, show up to all the sales meetings, take notes, etc.-but they lose most deals. We have others who get drunk, miss the meetings, don't know the product that well, but win almost of their competitive deals. Who do you think we send to make the presentation when a really large opportunity comes in? Time for DW
  6. I have another commitment, and can't make the game. So, I have two tickets that I'll give away free to a mean green fan who will use them. 45 yard line, section 105 with blue park pass. You'll need to pick them up at my office in Arlington. Send me a PM if you want. Donation of a six pack of Shiner is appreciated.
  7. Selling beer should be a big boost for attendance. They should make it part of the marketing message.
  8. They must not have the Longhorn network.
  9. That's a great point, I wouldn't be surprised at all. Football gives a school stature.
  10. Congrats. I just signed up for the first time in 10 years.. When do the tickets get mailed out?
  11. This is one of the worst threads I've read.
  12. Was it Baylor's last trip to Denton when we put 50 plus on the board? A great night for the Mean Green.
  13. . Quit talking logic. These types of threads are what hold us over until the season.
  14. Thanks but doesn't seem to work on an ipad. So, what does it stand for. GMG
  15. This is all great news and a big day of UNT. Any thoughts about how many of these we'll see on the field against the longhorns?
  16. How much did it cost to build the stadium originally?
  17. Notwithstanding the comments about Rivals, from looking at their verbal commits, we are doing better than SMU/UTSA, and about on par with Rice/Houston. I'll take it.
  18. Eddie, Thanks for the heads up. I'm going to buy two for the first time in 12 years. One suggestion: I just joined the alumni association, and figured I'd get a call about tickets. This might be a good source of prospects for next year. Good Luck.
  19. I have a feeling there will be a lot of us wearing green in section 7. At least I hope so.
  20. Seven seats in section seven. I thought we needed a little green on that side.
  21. Ticket sales will come. I called the ticket office today to buy six seats and they told they wouldn't be able to tell me the rows/seats available until all of the season ticket holders were finished, which would be next Thursday or Friday. I'm hoping a lot of people are waiting to see what's available before pulling the trigger.
  22. After talking to the ticket office and checking online, it looks like 10 yard line lower bowl on the UNT side vs. 40 yard line on UNLV side not using our ticket office. Decisions, Decisions.................
  23. At what point do the tickets hit Groupon, etc?
  24. This pricing is too high to get a good crowd. I'll buy several because I'm hardcore, but marginal alumni aren't going to drop $150 plus parking for a couple. They talk about revenue maximizing ticket pricing in sports. $75 doesn't seem like the right number to me. I'm just hoping they sell beer.
