Applying a bit of pressure to get one on early signing day. Kickers are mostly PWO so it's a smart choice.

18' QB Clayton Tune (Hebron) - 3 star

I don't know about the visit to ol' miss, but you definitely have the rest right. Recommit included lol. -
Should have offered Calvin Avery and it would have beat them for 3...
-
JayD out here getting us hyped saying we've gotten a recruit from the visit and now this one lol... feels bad man...

When commits are landing left and right and it's been quiet for months:

18' WR Maureese Wren (Mesquite Horn) - 3*
Caw Caw replied to UNTLifer's topic in UNT Football Recruiting
Probably the best single recruit in CUSA signing classes so far. He's about as close as a 4-star as you can get without going over... Offer list to match. There's a couple of kids on WKU commit list with similar sized/quality offer sheets. Southern miss has a kid named Jemaurian Jones who has OU and Ol' Miss offers among other big programs at CB. Tack on that Lane hasn't either recruited or exposed his class for whatever reason. Sooo this could be a big overall class for CUSA. I think Reggie Williams is up a lot of those guys level in talent and offers as well. -
He was a corner/safety in high school. DNP his senior season because a of serious upper body injury. Was told they want to move him around and find the right fit.

Will Kiffin Be Gone After 1 Year?
Caw Caw replied to AustinFromUNT's topic in UNT Football Recruiting
Lane stated in an interview on the Dan Lebatard show that he doesn't understand coaches who leave before the final game of the season. He thinks it's wrong and unfair to the kids you coach. All the times he hasn't finished a season, he's been forced out. He said he had an offer to coach at a prominent school when he knew his time was up with oakland but they wanted him to leave before the end of the season, so he turned them down. A move for Kiffin is still possible, but it will be post-bowl. The only jobs left are Oregon and SMU currently (well, LaLa and Kent Stae, but come one) and Oregon is expected to hire Mario Cristobal and just promote him from interim. So there's a good chance we welcome Lane to Denton next year. -
This x100. EJ leads the team in almost every statistical category, unfortunately it's because he's doing the job of more than one person at LB.

'18 QB Jason Bean (Mansfield Lake Ridge)

LeBlanc entirely shut down his recruitment, played both ways and moved to another non-texas football state. If he was on this Ryan team still he would have, but what can you do. -
18' OL (Guard) Kameron King (Marshal) - 3*

The bright side is, I thought he was going to UTSA, this is a half step better. -
Huge week ahead in terms of Recruiting

Twitter says 6'5" 250. Hudl says 6'5" 245. Former Euluss Trinity Player. Kind of difficult to track down a lot on this kid, especially for someone who went to trinity. Maybe one of our more trojan friendly fans has the scoop. There was a Laki Saafi, who played LB at the all-district level his Jr. year in 2015, was moved to almost purely a blocking tight end in 2016 as a senior and got first team all-district. He was however listed at 6'1". There was also a Josh Saafi at trinity but maxpreps says he graduated in 2012... so maybe like TJ, goes by two names and is also related to the 2012 Saafi from trinity. Saw an article that i could no longer find that Josh got injured his senior year, last year with some sort of arm ligament issue and sat most of the season so his options dwindled. Honestly, I keep looking but don't know. -

But why... Beat them two years in a row... Maybe he prefers blocking for QBs who can't throw on target? -
Actually it's $4 a credit hours. It's $480 Dollars more for a bachelors degree barring any other increases. It's still worth it, but it isn't four bucks. People who aren't interested int sports protest all sorts of expenditures by athletic departments around the country. I remember having one of these votes when I was in school. I worked three jobs to put myself through UNT. I graduated 2013 so the last increase likely wasn't that long ago. Frankly, the cost of education has also become way more unbearable over the last decade and a half. And it continues to rise. But that, in itself, is a much bigger debate.

Yeah. This for sure. I think our staff only taking early qualifiers out of JUCO this year is smart, but it will dampen the perceived talent level. They trust their ability to get guys ready to go and would rather have them make it to campus for sure than stars and offers they don't want to be burned that way again I don't think. Looks like he would replace Josh Wheeler. I wish he were about a half step or step faster tho. Played some D-line in high school so makes sense to pass rush him.

Huge week ahead in terms of Recruiting

God... it's been so empty here... I'm getting desperate. Do we expect a large blue-shirt crop or are we pretty close to being caught up on Schollys? -
For combination of opponent and location we did the best, and to me, it's not even close. FSU is a better opponent, but Shreveport on a weekday is a mediocre location at best. That stadium sucks. Bahamas, Hawaii and Florida are great destinations, but outside of our target recruiting area. Other than FSU, Troy is the best opponent a CUSA team got. An argument could be made for Ohio. CUSA is not perceived well, we don't get great match ups in really full bowl years. I think we did a fantastic job. I'm all booked for everything but hotels.

The old Denton tripe is undermining a whole lot of hard work. Maybe be a part of the solution...
-
You guys keep saying you want to build a brand yada-yada then undercut it immediately... Man, starting to miss 90.
-
TCU and Georgia, among many others would like to have a word with you.
-
The Sun Belt and CUSA are perceived the same way. It will be our divisional champ vs their divisional and maybe conference champ. I really don't see how CUSA is so much better. We have the only winless team in FBS in our conference, remember?
-
Here's my issue with your outlook. You predicted this team to win five or six, right? They exceed your expectations by three or four games and you still shit on them. How is this a moving target? Are you only happy when a team wins a title, if so, why are you a UNT fan. I do understand the frustration with the game today, but I don't understand your logic. This team overachieved, plain and simple. We need some recruiting wins to stay at nine wins in our conference and contend again. The bowl selection isn't as cut and dry as you guys are making it. There is no promised entry to HoD or Independence, if we can get a P5 opponent great, if not New Orleans is the same as New Mexico, except a better city.
