  1. My bet is that Augie would be a walk-on or preferred walk-on at this point. Maybe I'm just being hopeful.
  2. I guess I should have clarified in saying I think they they the game get out of hand as far as player interaction. The booing was more than well-deserved. My real issue is with the stuff on the bottom sentence. Again, I am a loud trash talker, probably the loudest in my section. Profanity is a crutch upon which bad trash talk leans. Not that it can't be included, but I just like some style points and creativity. It can be an art if executed correctly.
  3. Oh, i have no problems with the booing of officials. It's standard practice, especially when it's as bad as it has been. It's more the booing of injured opposing players and hearing words like p**** constantly with like children in my section.
  4. 1. We've moved from beating teams we should to beating teams we "shouldn't" very quickly. The one beautiful team about the staff, and I'm tempering my expectations, is that the team gets better every week. We can't control who we play this year it's been slated but we seem to make noticeable strides in a variety of areas. 2. Mason Fine is good. He's got a lot of room to grow, but I noticed one or two errant throws a game. For someone facing the kind of pressure and beatings he's received he is one composed SOB. He makes good decisions and when he has any time at all seems to deliver a good ball. And as far as sliding, he's getting hit 10 times a game, let him deliver a couple (or try). 3. Jordan Murray is one big... Can't teach 6"9 360 lbs can ya? 4. Maybe it's getting older, but the student section has decided creativity in their verbal assaults is second to the vulgarity. I love harassing the the sideline players, but man, it's getting crass on that side, and repetitive. Seriously, put some effort in. Biggest gripe is that the jeering doesn't stop for visiting injured players. 5. Reading fan boards of Marshall postgame people don't take us seriously. And our team doesn't get any better their team is just a worse dumpster fire. By all means, keep underestimating the development and progress here. More opponents to surprise and more tears to bath in. 6. I'm glad Keena had the cajones to stick up for himself on their sideline. Can't believe that was something he just decided to do on his own. No guts no glory I suppose. No one likes being punked by a specialist, student side loved it. There was a noticeable energy difference for the rest of the game. 7. Officiating was bad. No call from the second roughing the kicker. The BS hit to the head. The sideline fiasco to name a few. There calls were bad so no one had any faith in the built in "justice system". Of course we are going to boo officials anyway but all that was way out of hand. I've been too a lot of UNT games and that may have been the worst i've ever seen live.
  5. I just wanted to mention that this staff has made very few excuses. There is no "well we're undersized", "the cupboard was pretty bare when we got here", etc. Usually the focus is on what they failed at as a team, what could be improved upon, execution of the plan etc. I wanted to say it's a nice change. Maybe i'm missing it but that's how I have felt so far.
  6. I was browsing the 2017 Rival listing and noticed that UTSA is just outside the top 50 classes in the country at this point. Obviously this is all subject to change, but I was curious what you think their staff is doing that is so effective. They even have/had a 4 star recruiting from Denton Ryan. I say had potentially because he was kicked off of Ryan and charged with a crime. I'm just trying to think what that pitch could sound like that they are swimming in 3-star talent this early. Anyone with a better recruiting perspective i'd love to hear from.
  7. Yes Florida has a history of recent saintly hits. Florida always plays fair and never hits with ill intention: 2015 vs Vandy QB: https://vine.co/a2693280-b62a-4720-ac8c-b5d52d9f1b91 soooooo many tweets about intent should be part of an injection. Love the flip flop here specificially: http://www.saturdaydownsouth.com/florida-football/gators-sherit-ejected-targeting/ Fournette is on the record saying he felt like he was in a street fight it was so dirty playing florida: http://www.nola.com/lsu/index.ssf/2015/10/les_miles_sends_video_to_sec_o.html LSU sent in film to the NCAA of dirty plays. Literally zero point to dig any further.
  8. Also, as of a facebook post yesterday... There still are tickets available.
  9. I was told it's near where the miller light tent/corral is set up every year. John is a real good dude, doubt he would turn a fan and patron away.
  10. Picked mine up from John today. T-shirts aren't ready but tickets are and seat selection is first come first serve. I just wanted my choice of seats so went right at twelve. There is a pre-party at east side on game day at 12, tailgate at the stadium at 3. Cheers.
  11. Maybe i'm wrong here, and you would know better than I. But shouldn't that be our baseline? Mostly three star guys with a few offers, the rare lucky 4 star kid and a couple of chances on the undersized, underranked monster athlete?
  12. We're getting commitments before signing day, so that's a nice change. And three stars is always a good bench mark for us. Had fewer of those lately than you think.
  13. I got a full sized dan mccarney heart of dallas bowl championship cut out. None of you come close to that level of greatness.
  14. I WANT TO BELIEVE.
  15. Yes detract from the actual point to nitpick. This statement will be made by me once, while your contribution will continue to be dominated by RV. Or I could take your approach and tell everyone to start talking football on every thread, even basketball ones and coaching hires.
  16. I'm glad there is not censorship. It's not a free exchange of ideas if it is. Just hoping we could funnel the thoughts into appropriate channels is all. I appreciate all you mods and the other contributors bring to the mean green experience. I'll be here for the next coach and the next one after that. Maybe you missed this part... Pretty sure that's covered under that statement.
  17. Aye, Cerebus. But let us not forget the golden rules of the Holy Program. The least of which is not: Though shalt not scare away the few, or the few will never become many.
  18. Hey Fellas, Is there anyway to get a stickied "I HAVE SOMETHING TO SAY ABOUT RV" thread? And contain the the RV conversations to it? I don't even bother posting any content at the moment because I'm really sick of seeing the same conversation on every thread. About 3 posts in it's the RV's-fault-needs-to-change speech. EVERYONE. ON. THE. BOARD. GETS. IT. I'm not one against the removal of Rick, and I wasn't against the banner measures either. But we haven't actually talked about football on this thread since signing day. The state of the program is a shit show, but honestly, it's like the endless-barney-theme-song-and-strobe-light psych torture to try and have a conversation here. This obviously dead conversation is alienating as many people as RV. Maybe we can even make a whole sub-forum under football that's "Potential AD Candidates" or "RV Tactical Removal Team". I don't care what you call it because I will never go there. But I can pretty much regurgitate every thread that will come up there. Display your discontent but quit hijacking every thread to push an agenda that's already been pushed to a stopping point. We don't have to all get a long or agree or whatever, but the off-topic train can go to hell.
  19. Let me say the town hall days are far from over. The venue has just moved. The town hall is social media and a coach who genuinely engages in such could go a long way. It was a little irritating to see Mac's twitter was being run by a company which broadcast that it was running it. There's no connection to the future of the program that way both fans and recruits. We do need someone like that, but contemporary.
  20. Did you say no, but: I gift a mean sandwich?
  21. To be fair, pulling your starters early won't stop the score from rising. Even if you dive left, dive right with your back ups in... This defensive coordinator Cosh is a plague. But we do appreciate the kind sentiment lol. So you know from everyone's favorite AD to you:
  22. 10 4. I'll make the last home game I think this year. Been working out of state the last couple. I'll let you know. Edit: And to be honest, the circumstances I grew up in taught me to value everyone regardless of social standing, opinion, race, etc. Being accused of operating under anything other than that I take quite seriously.
  23. And what was your intention? Because mine was to show that thinking we shouldn't be able to laugh at ourselves is a lofty idea and has nothing to do with winning or losing. I think thinking that way is lofty and silly. And maybe that's your wife or something so you're not letting them speak for themselves and feel the need to pipe up. Of all the hate being spewed across the boards, you pick this to call out. You need to work on your moral policing.
  24. I wasn't talking to you and never said I was better than anyone. I just think it's silly to not make light of things in a down season. Humor is literally a life saver for some people. All this AD ish has you wound too tight. You have no idea about me or my convictions or what I think about anyone, nor have you taken the time to ask. If you want to know about me and what I stand for i'd be able to field your questions.
