'17 WR Sam Crawford (Rockwall) [Verbal: Tulsa]
Caw Caw replied to Cerebus's topic in UNT Football Recruiting
You should see some of the larger fan bases swarm kids once they tweet an offer. Some of the more aggressive fan bases that have stuck out to me are Utah and Iowa. God protect the ones who de-commit. I mean all sorts of messages. I think the rules will change because if they police this fans are going to cost the bigger schools a ton of penalties. And the NCAA monopoly wouldn't want to punish those schools. -

Okay, so I watched the film finally (the day before Christmas Eve work is slow), I think the kid is fast, good hands and just an all around great athlete. He has a couple good stutter steps and moves to make the DBs hesitate just enough to beat them deep. I'd like to see what his route running looks like on shorter routes. Also adjusts to the ball well. He was used a lot on jet sweep, which would be an easy transition in Litrell/Harrell's offense. He reminds me a lot of Darnell Smith. Similar skill set and play style. If you watch Crawford's tape and then watch this I think you'll see it. I -
@Cerebus, I'm not advocating censorship hear, but can we create/move a good portion of this thread to a different or exiting more relevant thread so that we can go back to discussing the talented young man who might come to UNT?

Serious question, Is the "fan base is complacent because of recruiting we accept" the new "fan base is complacent because we won't fire our AD"? Let me say, I do like some of your recruiting hot takes, but you seem to get really fixated on one thing. Instead of contributing to the conversation about the recruits we post or add any of your evaluations on the kid you jump at the first chance to tell us how apathetic we all are. People don't disagree with your commentary wholesale , or @Ben Gooding, like you guys seem to think. We don't get mad about opposite opinions, I love learning more perspectives. I do however dislike dead horses being beat. Some of what's been posted on the recruiting threads are valid concerns, but what do you expect anyone to do on the boards that would change your opinion of our apathy? I do not have millions to donate so I volunteer some time to research recruits, watch film and add what little untrained insight I can. We can not push these coaches to do more, and can't give a fair evaluation until after the recruiting season ends.

Sam Crawford is 5'11", 188 lbs. We offered on the 16th based on his twitter post. Has tons of offers from G5: Colorado State, UTSA, T-State, USF, Tulane, Service Schools, Fresno, ECU and more. Huge area of need obviously, i'll get to watching his film soon. I'd say by fixing our consistent low snap issue we'd buy our QB another second of decision/throw making time. Also our model lineman will probably change to fit this offense, someone else is more qualified to tell you what that ideal lineman would look like lol.

Zaxby’s Heart of Dallas Bowl: Army (7–5) vs. North Texas (5–7) Tuesday, December 27, 12 p.m., ESPN Why to watch: Because this is about REVENGE. This is the only bowl-game rematch of a regular-season matchup: UNT beat Army 35–18 in October. There have been two other rematches this year — the Mountain West and C-USA championship games — and both saw a reversal of result in the second, more important game. Oh, and Army has a history of strong performances in rematches — the War of 1812 and World War II, although it let the Second Battle of Bull Run slip away.

'17 WR Tariq Woolen (Arlington Heights) [Verbal: UTKFC]
Caw Caw replied to GMG24's topic in UNT Football Recruiting
He was offered by Baylor with the new staff. Is it petty of me that if he doesn't come here i'd rather him flip to Baylor over UTSA? -
I could also see a couple of screen/pass reverse/pass options in our future.

While I knew this would stir the pot, I didn't expect this to be the hot-button issue it is lol. As i've said before, I'm happy for any sound and engagement that comes from inside our stadium on game day. Who cares if it's silly? if other people like it, it engages them and all is in order under the Athletic umbrella, why kill people's enthusiasm? There's not enough of it around the program.

I've seen people gored. But it's not called hookin' um. I was called an Idiot in a different thread because of my username. It was a reference to that. I have zero caws for concern.

Watching the film, I thought he needed a good bit of work in his footwork and throwing mechanics. He really "athleted" his way through playing the QB position. Nothing wrong with that per say, but it would take a more coaching development than some other QB candidates. Glad to have him in any capacity. If it were up to me, I'd put dillman back there before any other athlete position guys.

Do Longhorns Hook' um? Do agricultural experts gig 'um? Do sooners boomer? There is all sorts of dumb sounds in college football. It's more about having them affiliated with your team than their origin. That's my obviously unpopular two sense. I've heard dumber things come out of masses of fans in college football.

Could you spell that sound out for me please? So i can practice?

http://www.cleburnetimesreview.com/sports/cleburne-s-tre-von-bradley-commits-to-unt/article_fb786374-c268-11e6-a7ce-47e5c9761586.html Here's a little write-up from the local paper. I've picked my favorite recruiting insight: Bradley said he chose UNT for a few reasons; “The love that their coaching staff showed me, the position I’d be playing, and the location,” Bradley said. The article says they want him to be an inside/slot receiver. Which is what I think a lot of people expected. Cool to see they were very specific with there vision, which helped him feel comfortable choosing us.

Sorry for the dupes Cerebus, I ran a search pre-post (which I always do) but I'm sure it was really close together. -

6"3, 218, runs a 4.6. Still has a lot of frame he could fill out. Also plays WSDE. Just posted his offer on twitter. He's committed to SDSU and has offers from UTSA, Nevada, Army, Air Force, Bowling Green, Fresno and more. LOTS of looks from much bigger schools but no offers there yet. Would be a great flip. http://247sports.com/Recruitment/Caden-McDonald-86382/RecruitInterests http://www.hudl.com/profile/3016257/caden-mcdonald -
This is gonna Caw Caws some problems:

We were head to head with Tulsa for this kid. Not a lot of offers, but that's a solid win in my book. Also had offers from Army and Bowling Green.

I would project an Ark State commitment based on what I see on his twitter. Took an OV there. Offered by New Mexico recently.

Caw Caw replied to Withers940's topic in UNT Football Recruiting
“One of my strengths at offensive tackle is my good hand speed. My other strengths are my pass protection and foot speed. I am agile for a big guy. I played offensive tackle all the way through high school at right tackle. I switched me to left tackle at Pierce and I stuck there. That was my first time playing left tackle.” I like the pass protection bit lol.
