  1. Serious, semi-related question, did that kid from Denton who was a four-star defensive player make it to San Antonio. I never saw the outcome of his robbery charges and am curious if his offer still stood and he shook the case.
  2. Tried that too, it was good. Any other Gumbo spots for a Ruston visit?
  3. I also really miss a guy named Jarod Lynn. The Mamba... That guy was good for one yard almost every time.
  4. two things on the slogan. I'd like us to use Dentonation as both a replacement for Detonation and for DentoNation.
  5. So good in fact, that on the way to and from Dallas to Alabama for the A&M/'Bama game we stopped twice. Stuffed catfish and Etouffee are incredible.
  6. Was going to congratulate you, and then you did that so... As it stands, the only good thing about Ruston is Ponchatoulas.
  7. I don't fall under the "democracy is the only political system" group. And maybe there will be a vacuum for the time, but we can't both desire to be isolationist and world police. They are opposite ideas. We either care about the world at large or we only care about America. We seem unable to make up our mind on this issue lol.
  8. Oh good, they've really struggled at the QB position. I'm glad they finally get a well regarded QB prospect to turn things around.
  9. What does completion look like? For every country we "stabilize" and democratize the shift just moves to a different one. Sometimes, like with Afghanistan, it's the same country new conflict. What is the end game here? Can you tell me how you think this chess match could end positively?
  10. That staff won't be there much longer. That defense bleeds points, and, may I point out, under Coach Kingsburry, it wasn't because a lack of recruiting.
  11. If you ask me, it's naive to think that the external disruption of the Middle East isn't a long term side-effect of the Cold War and other external involvement in regional affairs. At this point it's cyclical, regime takes power, US and or Russia backs opposition with arms and financial support, regime gets toppled, supported party turns on its supporter, US and/or Russia back some to topple, rinse repeat. Just really need to pull out of the region.
  12. The best part of all of this is that even if he starts there's no need to hand him a scholarship. It's likely his Dad's position allows for his tuition to be free or steeply discounted. I know he may want the recognition for earning a scholarship, but this is a win to keep him off one. Interesting situation, I hope he contributes.
  13. I don't know the actual system, but his stats were seriously gaudy. He was namedone of the best players in oklahoma twice based on those stats. It had to be some sort of spread/air raid variation to accomplish what he did statistically in high school.
  14. Or you know, the fact that there isn't a season going on right now and bigger schools would like to see the senior campaign of someone at a smaller school...
  15. While I understand the transaction didn't begin under the current administration, BUT, how can you condemn a country for being a larger supporter of terrorist cells, then a week or two later sell 21 billion in weaponry...
  16. I'm in this camp for the most part. I think at the G5 level it's pretty unfair to evaluate much of anything too seriously without 3 years. By that point a coach has almost all kids he's recruited and his system has been implemented. I know we want a fast food fix here, and overachieving is always great. We have a winnable slate of games, we could hit 6 games, but we're favored in one of our games I think. That's not a reflection on Litrell, yet. I'm optimistic, but want to stay realistic. Handing him more money says they have faith that he'll turn it around, not that he can magically speed it up.
  17. http://www.cbsnews.com/news/trump-sells-qatar-12-billion-arms-days-after-accusing-it-of-funding-terrorism/ Anyone think this is a good move?
  18. Bigly. A yuge success. The biggest.
  19. I've got to say, we've gone in Early on a lot of guys who picked up a lot of steam. While I would like to win more recruiting battles, our evaluation seems to be pretty good. I think we'll rise up some without recruiting on development, system and identification. Now, to really go up a notch we'll need to add crutin' too. But i'm hopeful.
  20. Three weeks is so long, why do you try and hurt us?! WHY?!
  21. Tyreke Davis said on twitter that it is an error that he was listed on the offense incorrectly. One of the kids from his HS we are recruiting ,Jordan Rucker I think, asked about it. He responded, Dayton LeBlanc gave them both a "hold the rope" which was the high schools mantra last year I think.
  22. Yeah the word "committed" wasn't really the right choice from the start. Wish him the best.
  23. You're right. Programs take time (i hope) to repair. Should be a W. Put me on the record for the win i'll do a write up on it later.
  24. Yeah I mentioned in the short summary I think Jeff Wilson staying healthy will be big for us. Hopefully Nic Smith gives us at least as much as Ivery did last year. I would feel pretty comfortable about skills positions if Ivery and Goree were returning for depth as well. Really sad to see those two go. Our Secondary may be one of the best in CUSA if our line gets more pressure than last year.
  25. Let's not forget LeBlanc was a Denton Kid too, he's friends with these guys, hopefully he's pitching his friends to come play with him.
