Especially when they were pretty condescending toward North Texas when we were joining and how they were so high and mighty. Never say never. I hope we beat USM bad on Saturday (but will take a 1 point win). Lots of payback to deliver left on our calendar. USM, Rice, Tulsa are all deserving of a North Texas arse whoopin.

UNT should purchase TWU lock, stock, and barrel. It would instantly add 10k+ students and put us knocking on the door of being the largest universities in the state. Plus it would add a great nursing school to our growing med school. I realize there are numerous roadblocks that will prevent this from happening, but it would be a great addition and it would have the benefit of consolidating support around a single school for the city.

Meh. Same drivel that I see here from time to time, just different screen names. Kind of weird how as you read other fan sites, the same personas and same thread topics pop up over and over.

So recently we proved that we could throw effectively if needed, which opened up the run for us against an opponent trying to protect their secondary. I thought that is what we have been hoping for. Take what they give you or at the very least make the defense play you straight up.

I would not be surprised with a low scoring game with both teams trying to establish the run game. They have a very good run game and a below average/bad run defense. We have slightly below average numbers in terms of run defense. Two coaches that both like to run. This could be an ugly, not very exciting game to watch, but I sure am pulling for the guys in green to come away with a win regardless of style points. LA Tech has to feel like this is darn near a must win game, at home. We have shown an uncanny skill for losing on the road. This will be a tough test. If we can somehow come away with the win, we may not look back. If we lose, we immediately go right back behind the 8 ball.

The MTSU secondary has been pretty bad so far this year. Our running game had recently sputtered. They played most of the night pretty straight up with a 7 man front trying to protect their secondary and counting on being able to stop the run. They couldn't. By the time they were sneaking up an extra defender we were rolling and we burned them a few times with passes for 1st downs. Once we got in a groove, they just couldn't stop us. This weekend will be huge for us.
