Yes, Mac left DT in for at least 2 unnecessary series where he could have had McNulty or Berglund in. As soon as we scored 35 he should have been out. They were not coming back on our D. McNulty came in after we made a first down, ran a few plays until we kicked a field goal and then started the next series. Maybe ran 1 play and then Berglund came in. Handed off twice, picked up a first down. Handed off a couple more times, then took a knee. He is definitely more animated in the way he is trying to sell the fake. As mentioned, it would have been nice to see a couple of zone reads or sweep to see his wheels. As it turned out, it was anticlimactic.

Looks like he is getting ready to go in if we get the ball back.

Seemed like more. Can't be many sold tickets that did not show up in that number.

Meangrreener, like many others associated with the university and the football program, your efforts are appreciated by many, myself included. Nice job.

Has to be 27k-28k at least. Would not be surprised if the number is higher. Upper wing is 2/3-3/4 full and student side has to be 95% full. Can't tell from where I sit about alumni side, but seems pretty full. Maybe someone from student side can speak to the almi side.

Does Coach Mac know anything about basketball?

Pics or it didn't happen.

So that puts us at 3-0 on the year?

Yeah, Derek probably feels the same way. Just having fun with you. I tried. You know. Life lessons. Blah, blah, blah. Any chance you see even the slightest correlation your elephant in the room post where you tear down our starting QB and question his contributions to the team? When I turned it around and posed the same premise back to you, you go ballistic. Interesting... Point made. Oh well. It appears the point has been completely missed. Sigh. Go MF'in Green. #hit30k! I will be there +3.

So let me get this straight, meangreener feels like he has played a role in helping our attendance get to a point that it has not been to in years and he does not feel like it is fair for someone to single him out and suggest that an unknown, Ms. Elle Phant, could do a better job when the competition gets a little tougher? Interesting. I assure you. One thing I did not miss was the point. Feels a little, different?

I get that meangreener has been beating the drum on attendance, but when you look at it, the team has been doing most of the work and he has just been in the right place at the right time and going along for the ride. If we are going to continue to keep attendance up we are going to need to step up our game in terms of promotions and generating interest. We have several interns in the promotions department that I think we should look at to take over the lead on driving attendance and continue the campus communication/posters, etc... One of the AD interns that I met, I think her name was Elle, seemed like she had a lot of potential even though she has never been in charge of leading a college promotions team. I think Ms. Phante would be a great resource to lean on and could push our attendance over the hump.

Obviously similar to what Fedora did to Southern Mississippi State.

So... What is coach Evan's clause in his contract if he gets elevated to HC?
-
Thank you Brandon. Last year we lose that game.

I was asking someone at dinner that once called the ticket office and they were pretty sure the game was a complete sellout.

Man, It would be killer to see Dave Bliss around here.

Once the opportunity presents itself in a few years, and assuming they are not in CUSA. I wonder what RV's thought would be to signing a multiple year home/he with TSU-SM? Could sign it opposit of our utsa game in order to keep an Austin/SA presence each year. Maybe same idea with UH opposit Rice. Throw SMU and Army in there and that would be a pretty solid group of 4 OOC games for us and would not require bodybag games. Of course it would be nice to get a P5 in a home/home as well, but I see that as a lot less likely. UNM or Colo St would work as well.

Listen to this guy. He sounds really smart.

I have to say, it isn't as big a deal to me. I will definitely enjoy the trip to Ford in 2015 and the other years as well. The Tennessee game had been on the books for years and had to be played sometime. Might as well get it over with. At least we will get to stuff some money in the bank assuming one of the two is not bought out that year with the OOC changes that are happening in the B1G. Might even work out where we get paid to not play. I look at others in the Go5 and they all have seasons where they go through the same issue from time to time. We actually have the ability to start a home/home as soon as 2017, with a 'buy a home game' in 2018, if we want to go that way. It will be interesting to see if we can get attendance and MGC to the point were we don't play anymore bodybag games starting in 2018. If we don't need the funds, we would be able to start scheduling additional H/H with conferences like the Mac, MWC, AAC, and maybe even an occasional P5 team. Just keep winning.

Derek Thompson... 1st ballot UNT Hall of Famer?
greenit replied to UNT90's topic in Mean Green Football
Buddy, if had a rubber hose I would... -
What? Need to emphasize that we will play the University of Alabama birmingham each year. It's all in the marketing and our AD rocks at marketing, or so i've been told.

Derek Thompson...an elephant in the room?
greenit replied to meangreener's topic in Mean Green Football
So the kid is setting records and the staff doesn't trust him? The receiver lets the ball bounce off his hands and you "don't trust Derek". Get grip. He has put the team on his back a couple of times this year. Ball State anyone? He is a spread offense QB that has figured out a way to fit within a conservative offensive style and clearly establish himself as a leader on the team. #hatersgonnahate #cantfixstupid- 122 replies
