I like the idea of SMU and a service academy. We have those two already on our calendar so I would stick with them. If we could waive a wand and immediately start scheduling 2 more series, I think I would want an MWC team. Not sure I would want another AAC team, so I might go Sun Belt based on proximity for the last series. SMU (AAC) Army (service academy) New Mexico (MWC) Texas St. (Sun Belt) Of course, it would be great to sign a home/home with a P5, but if we can't, and we eliminate the bodybag game, then I could live with the above.

I am not saying Benford did not struggle with being a head coach for the first time, he did, but you cannot convince me that a few key players didn't quit on their teammates and their new coach last year for several long stretches. By the time the team reached conference play, well, just wow. JJ found another job and quit North Texas, not Benford. Benford got off to a terrible start based on expectations. Live and learn. He has pretty much hit the reset button. After 1 year, we have 4 players left over from the JJ era. So far it looks like 2 starters and 2 bench players. I am definitely pulling for them to reach .500 this season, but they will have to be pretty strong through the OOC schedule and try to hang on through conference play. Pretty lofty hopes I know. Go Mean Green.

Ok, you are the AD. You have to schedule 4 home/home series. You cannot schedule a P5 team because they are all being douches. You must try to schedule so that you go at least 2-2 and you are trying to maximize attendance. Not many can be long term so you may even have to thing about scheduling a 2 year series, then have to find another team, and so on. Who do you schedule? (repeat, no P5 teams)

Huge advantage to playing at least a three guard lineup on offense. Just keep driving to basket and with new rules almost guaranteed of a foul no matter who you are. Hard to watch all the fouls being called early in the season.

Something about Chris Jones really bugs me. I can't exactly put my finger on it. He has tons of talent, but something just does not give me confidence. Same last year, but he got hurt and all the other stuff was going on. I definitely need to see more from him. Time to step up and be the best 1 or 2 on the team. He certainly has the ability.
