The 2 Iowa games are also paycheck games. We happen to have 2 of them in 2015 (Iowa and Tennessee). For those that dream of 2 for 1 games, those might be the biggest schedule destroyers because you have to play 2 away games without getting paid and you get one game at home where you hope to draw an additional 8,000 fans. Meanwhile in the other year you either have to pay for a game out of pocket or have 5 home games. All while not receiving a paycheck. In terms of OU playing at Tulsa, there is strong political pressure on OU/OSU to play series with Tulsa for the benefit of Tulsa. North Texas is not so lucky. At the end of the day I realize the reasons all sound like excuses, but reality is that until the alumni and students start selling out the stadium, or we receive a large enough check from our conference, the paycheck games will continue. If you want to witness an upcoming schedule meltdown, keep an eye on UTSA. They have signed multiple 2 for 1 agreements with AQ schools. On the surface it has been great because everyone is seeing a couple of nice seasons where they have AQ schools playing in SA. They will soon be in schedule hell, like most non AQ schools and will have seasons with nothing but road games at AQ schools and the prospect of having to try and pay some FCS schools to come play in order to have more than 4 home games.

That's a real peach hon.

Indiana is on schedule for 10/4, so it will most likely be in September. 8/30 - Whorns 9/06 - SMU 9/13 - open 9/20 - open 9/27 - open 10/4 - Indiana

There are going to be some awfully disappointed folks around these parts if we somehow don't get to take the parade route everyone is counting on. But then again I can't remember the last time we spent a week knowing for certain that something was going to happen, only to get kicked in the 90's.

schools in your conference? Especially now that football is dominating most of the TV dollars? I can see why having Rice, SMU, Tulsa, and Tulane was once looked upon very favorably, and each have been invited to the table in the past due to their academic prestige, but each of them now seem to have limited value for TV contracts/eyeballs. Do they still bring the same value to the table? Even when they are doing well, their fan support seems limited. When they were playing the flagship schools they typically provided a gateway to a large metropolitan area that was chocked full of state flagship alumni, but if the conference already has the local large public university in those metro areas, what is the value/upside? It mostly seems like CUSA is following the large public university approach, but not really. It also seems like the AAC is really confused, by having some of the largest, but still having 3 small privates, and seemingly having an appetite for Rice in the future. It will be interesting to see what unfolds the next 10 years. I think we are as well positioned as we have been in a long time.

Isn't the AAC still an AQ conference this year? So their champ automatically goes to a BCS bowl no matter what. Same with all the AQ conferences, such as Big 12.

On radio broadcast, Evan mentioned only 3rd 5 win November in program history. Last in 2010. Nice to see things settling down a bit. After getting blown out by Idaho mid way through the game, the Portland comeback is looking pretty big. Hoping to somehow see .500 by the end of the year.

If memory serves, we have recently tried that approached. As I recall, it did not work out so well for us.
