  1. I really like the way Buford and the boys are now figuring out a way to win these close ones. It has to be a sign that we are turning the corner.
  2. And I am not predicting doom and gloom. I am fairly optimistic/hopeful that we post a respectable number.
  3. I don't care where they are sold. I believe we have met our obligation, so at this point I don't know that it matters a ton where they are sold. I am talking about after the bowl game when they start assessing how many green meanies showed up. It will be somewhat of a guesstimate since tickets can be purchased through a variety of sources, but a number will be determined by the time all is said and done.
  4. We should drop to FCS if we don't sell 20k+. Frankly less than 25k fans will be disappointing. I have faith that there will be 25k+ green in attendance. It's a home bowl game for Pete's sake. The opponent should not impact the levels I am talking about.
  5. It's seems like there is someone missing from that list, but I just can't quite put my finger on it.
  6. It seems that ALMOST everyone in the family tree has basketball talent.
  7. FYI, the back room at Campizi's has this game as UNT -3 (opened at -5.5)
  8. Seemingly coaching for his job, his team responds by leading 53-52 over UCfreakinA with 3:30 minutes left. WTF?
  9. If I am counting correctly, we have 2 OL and 2 DL so far this class, correct?
  10. As I mentioned in another thread, I fully expect in another 5 years or so that Benford will be a serviceable coach. D2 or D3 would be an excellent place to hone his skills. Ernie should be ashamed for being so easily hoodwinked.
  11. Because she seemingly has no strategy on offense or defense?
  12. Biggest win of the Benford era?
  13. I would have locked Benford in his office.
  14. I just heard a third grader ask his teacher why UNT looks so unprepared and why a bottom rung SLC team is beating us at home. She had no answer.
  15. What a great game with back and forth action!
  16. Have George or Hank started talking about the lighting in the pit yet?
  17. So...when is the Beyond The Green, basketball version, set to air?
  18. I could see that correlation. I used to think Micah Thompson might be a good candidate to move over, but the more I see him, I am not convinced he has the lower body power for a DT. A lot of our big guys on OL are similar. It might be a good reason why we are an excellent pass blocking line, but have a below average power running game against decent teams. On several occasions I have seen us unable to get 2-3 yards when the defense knew we were going to run. However, I do think a see a couple of guys on the OL, some are not even on the 2 deep that have more of a wrecking ball build that might be candidates. I guess we will have to wait and see what unfolds.
  19. Why is it so hard to move an OL to DL? There have to be a couple of options even if it is not someone currently on the OL depth chart. If a big strong body with a little desire is the primary prerequisite then we seem to have several candidates. Is it speed, quickness, strength? In high school it seems like the most talented big uglies go to the offense. What makes it so hard to switch over? I am primarily talking DT.
  20. I was not trying to slam TM. He didn't deal with the situation great, but I am tying to give him the benefit of the doubt and assume it was mostly a coaching issue, unless someone has facts otherwise. It was miserable to watch so I can only imagine what it was like to be on the inside. In the end, the coach is responsible to keep it from unraveling the way it did last year. I just wish TM could have had the season he was capable of. Didn't happen for lots of reasons. . Moving on.
  21. Hope Brock is not leaving, but it would not be a total surprise. I hope whoever is able to come out on top is legit. While DT was frustrating at times, he will not be easy to replace. If you tell me that our QB play will be better next year, then we have a heck of a season to look forward to.
  22. I agree, except that TM knew that all he had to do was kick ass for one season and he was gone anyway. It is basketball, about half the time they are not even in a set play. It is unfortunate that they rift evidently became so bad that TM took halfs, games, even weeks at a time off. I don't know if there was a rift between the players, between the players and the coach, or what, but TM must have quickly realized what a trainwreck season he was in for. Still wish he could have somehow played with Roger's motor last season and somehow play through whatever was troubling him. He could have had a season for the record books. Even as disinterested as he appeared to be, he was still one of the top players in the league. Scary to think how good he could have been last season. Hope it clicks for him in the NBA. He could be every bit as good as someone like a Brandon Wright for the Mavs.
  23. You are one sick puppy.
  24. I'll agree that the perception of UB as a university has not passed TU by. I was only referring to men's football, men's basketball, and women's basketball. It probably won't last more than a few years.
