greenit replied to Harry's topic in Mean Green Basketball
Sounds like he has a bit of a chip on his shoulder. Hope he can channel that to his, and our, benefit.- 17 replies

When aske why he chose North Texas his reply was because my uncle told me that we get a chance to play against the Guards and meet Burt Reynolds.- 17 replies

My twitter skills are not strong, but a quick perusal of his twitter history seems to imply he is still at TAMC, but is transferring to UNT in either summer or fall. Unless he walked on at TAMC last season, he won't be eligible until 2015 when he would be a redshirt sophmore.

Did this kid end up enrolling at UNT? If so, is he still trying to walk on?

No offense, but I hope USM continues to suck as hard as they have for the last couple of years. They were so high and mighty when we were joining CUSA, based primarily on our recent FBall history. Somehow, we were so unworthy of joining a conference with the likes of USM that we should have just gone back from whence we came. I hope we beat them just like last season for the next 10. Then, I might be ready for them to not completely suck. UAB I also want to beat 10 times in a row, but we don't necessarily have to bet them as bad as USM, although I am ok with it if it occurs.

Former UNT Head Coach Todd Dodge is new coach at Austin Westlake
greenit replied to Harry's topic in Mean Green Football
Wow, talk about coming out of left field. What's next, a racist pro sports owner? -
I can't help but think the AAC fumbled the ball by bringing SMU/Tulane/Tulsa along for the ride. I think they would have been better off using the base they had and adding more 30K+ metro schools. They could have had the same markets, but adding 4+ times the alumni base (and potential eyeballs). There are a handful of current CUSA teams that would have fit the bill (cough) compared to the 3 small schools they added. In today's football driven market, I don't see the benefit of adding schools that have an upside of 20k fans. There are several teams in CUSA or even SBC that have a floor of 20k fans with a huge potential if they were put in the right conference.

Why am I not surprised that the donks are on the list for multiple reports.

Saw a note that USM went with another guy and Underwood staying put at SFA.

C-USA purchases Bahamas Bowl, increases commitment
greenit replied to 10Eagle10's topic in Mean Green Football
I hope they can figure out a way to get the bowl moved somewhere central to our eastern teams where it is more of a drivable opportunity. We need to have as many opportunities to drive as much attendance as possible. -
At the very least, can we all just agree that TU grads cannot be trusted at their jobs and should not be hired when suitable UNT grads are available?

I see we have our especially constructive criticism colored glasses on today.

MGB: UNT post-spring depth chart, thoughts

This is the offseason. Anything that can be supported by more than 50% verifiable information is just crazy talk. -
NCAA: And the Muted Bell Tolls (Dennis Dodd, CBS)
greenit replied to Christopher Walker's topic in Mean Green Football
Personally, I don't think people will support something like that if it is truly the minor leagues. With the way it is now, people get to thump their chest about their alma mater or state flagship and have a sense of pride. Hell, they even subsidize the programs with money out of their own pockets. I doubt those donations that are the lifeblood of most programs would continue to flow into a 'for profit' enterprise. -
MGB: UNT post-spring depth chart, thoughts
greenit replied to Brett Vito's topic in Mean Green Football
Where are the most likely changes to occur? And I am really talking about somebody coming from off the page to challenge for a starting position, but even a flip flop of 1vs 2. QB? Probably going to be one of the 2 listed. OL? Not likely unless an injury occurs. TE? Smith seems like the top guy. WR? Possible, but whose spot? P/K? Nah. DL? Maybe a late qualifier? LB? Maybe. Some talent did not make the page CB? Don't see it S? Doubtful I would expect some incoming WRs to get some PT but could see a lot of others redshirting. Looking forward to the fall. Want to see/hear good thing about front 7. -
Yes, they are in the wedgie.

I have had just about enough of your fact based opinions with supporting documentation. Do you know where you are? -
