Continue playing a P5 on the road and an FCS at home OR Use those 2 OOC slots for home/home with a rotating combination of G5 schools that are in Texas or border states(only option for these 2 slots). Teams could only come from UH, TxSt, NMSU, UNM, Tulsa, ArkSt, ULM, ULL, Tulane. Under the hypothetical, SMU would be a constant and the other slot (currently occupied with Army) would be a wildcard slot to be used by any other G5 school. Assuming finances were not an issue (which they currently are) which would you prefer?

Most guys won't do it, but if he focused on it, I feel he could pull down 12+ boards a night if he made rebounding his #1 priority. Otherwise he may need another year or two of intense work on shooting and ball handling if he is intent on finding an offensive role.

Stumbled upon an article stating that UTSA has signed an 8 year agreement to start playing TSU again. It should be a good series for both schools. I know we have discussed the potential of adding TSU to our schedule. I would like to see us sign a 2 to 4 game series with TSU, once we have to ability to do so (at least a few years out), to get a feel for what type of interest it generates out of both fan bases. Back on point, I thought it was interesting to see UTSA sign a long term agreement with TSU after they appeared to be content with ending the series. Somewhat similar situation with us and smu.

Maybe inappropriate use of state funds? One could only hope that we were not the leaders in this area, but more of a follower.

I hope there is a way for this to works it's way out. As far as I know it is the first time either have been involved in this sort of thing. Not sure what their financial situation is, but if scholly's are pulled, it could mean the end of their career. That's a tough thing to make a hasty decision on. Hate to see this sort of thing for anyone based on a poor decision at 20 years old. It really is a tough time to be a teenager/early 20's. Kids are so desensitized to things today compared to 20 years ago. Doesn't excuse what they did. I am sure Mac will handle it appropriately based on the kids and the situation.

On the back cover of the most recent North Texan publication, it references 361,000 total alumni with 237,000 living in the DFW 'area'. Not sure if their definition of alumni is a former graduate or former enrollee or something else, but thought the number was pretty interesting and I had not seen it published anywhere as far as I could remember. FWIW, I always have assumed alumni to mean a former graduate.

I doubt astate ever sees CUSA and when CUSA added WKU, the public word on the street at the time was that WKU and NMSU were the next two in line. Not sure if that has changed since.
