  1. Unless you really feel that Greer or McNulty are the future, I agree. You would have to burn the redshirt at that point in order to figure out if you take a 2nd QB in this class.
  2. Don't get why they don't just stand at the top of the section, just like at the Pit. No need to keep people from walking along, but have no problem with them checking tickets to go down to your actual seats.
  3. Rollins broken collar bone confirmed. JWilson out for Nicholls game, hopefully back by IU.
  4. Wow, it sounds like he has missed a ton of practice. Hope he takes advantage of the situation. If the other QBs had not been so putrid, I doubt he would have seen the field this season. Good luck DW. Seize your opportunity. No excuses now.
  5. This still counts. He obviously saw what was about to happen and tried the "You can't fire me, I quit" approach. I hope the health issues are not serious.
  6. I am hoping that Greer qualifies for a 'medical redshirt' similar to Dajon last year after the obvious injury that Greer must be suffering through in the first three games.
  7. Or your adopted dad.
  8. If we can't have fun at our own expense, we are taking ourselves way too serious.
  9. Let's make it a competition between Dajon and the Nicholls State D for 4 quarters.
  10. Canales does both.
  11. Sadly, I will be shocked if Greer doesn't start. Hopefully, if he hasn't shown dramatic improvement by the end of the 1st quarter, we make a change. At some point, the results have to speak or themselves. I hope we don't waste the next 3 weeks.
  12. Greer has had plenty of time to show what he has/doesn't have. McNulty has shown what he has. It's time to see what our other options, such as DW, can do. We have to figure out a way to go at least 5-4 the rest of the way. On our current path, I don't see how we get 4 wins out of Indiana, Rice, FAU, UAB, USM, FIU, UTSA, UTEP. It's not like we have to start slinging it around with DW in the lineup. Let him drive the bus. I doubt he gets more than 20 opportunities to throw, but let's see what he has. Neither Greer nor McNulty have shown any reason to expect that they will produce different results anytime soon. Mac has the perfect scenario to insert DW into the lineup. Nobody will blame him at this point if for some reason DW does not work out. He can easily point to the first three games as proof that other options needed to be explored. Even if DW fails, it seems to be that Mac would be taking a bigger risk by keeping Greer in at this point.
  13. Expecting a pretty evenly matched game...unless changes are made.
  14. Glossy Black helmet, green SOW.
  15. Don't kid yourself. smu is pretty much guaranteed to go 0-12. If you don't beat TCU, who in the hell are you going to beat? I realize that there are some downright awful teams in the AAC, but I am not sure smu is in a position to beat any of them now without their coach and starting QB.
  16. If all goes well this season, we will have a QB with either 2 more years (Greer), 1 more year (McNutty), or 3 more years (DJ), plus Means (4 years), plus Chumley (4 or 5 years). Not a slam dunk that we bring in a QB in this class. However, if all does not go well and none of our current options seem viable, then we definitely have to bring in another QB and open up the competition in the Spring.
  17. This will be the way SMU gets out of the series knowing our luck.
  18. What is the allotment? 2k? If so, that is pretty impressive. I hope LaTech turns in to a nice series that drives interest on both sides.
  19. Of course they have posters that take on the same persona as some on here, but I was surprised at the amount of their posters that are picking UNT to win. Seemed about 50/50 at the time I read it. Their past several recruiting classes have been rated higher than ours according to the services, but we know that does not always guarantee a better team. However, this will be no cakewalk. Their defense looked pretty reasonable once you are able to get past the Baylor team they were trying to stop (it still feels weird to type those words about a team and knowing that the team is Baylor). I suspect we will have our hands full. Also, Coach Mac built a somewhat smaller, but faster defense. Presumably to keep up with the spread offenses we face in CUSA. SMU will be a good test of our defense's capability to cover the spread/run and shoot. Should be a fun game.
  20. http://www.kntu.com/2014/09/01/dan-mccarney-show/ Look for the play button below the picture of Coach Mac and the team.
  21. Well Mr. Greer and Mr. McNulty, it's showtime. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SmHeP9Sve48
  22. Well, Mac couldn't have been more direct on his radio show. He never considered putting in DW. Missing practices. Not ready to contribute.
  23. It will be interesting to see if they actually do open up the competition again this week for either spot on the depth chart or if it was just coach speak. Either way, I don't see Greer losing the starting job on Saturday.
  24. I am going to go under assumption that Greer will still be the starter for SMU and that we are opening up the competition for #2. I don't see any way that Means or Williams jumps to the #1 after the UT game. However, I am beginning to think that McNulty may have lost his grasp on #2. Once McNulty lost out on #1, and after his performance at UT, which is pretty consistent with anything we have ever seen from him, it would not surprise me one bit to see him fall off the map and either bring up Means or DW to #2 and start getting them #2 reps so they are in a better position to get into a game.
