Banogu started the last couple of games in 2014 when AJ was hurt, correct? It seems like he did ok, and even drew a little praise from the coaches if I remember correctly. Nice that he actually has some starts under his belt.

Coach Mac unveils UNT 2-Deep: Josh Greer starts at QB

There won't be a problem moving to a better seat from the pictures I've seen of their game day attendance. Doea UNT make any money off of away game tickets that are purchased through the UNT ticket office?

Familiarity Breeds Contempt For U N T / S M U

Evidently, they are. -
WR has a real chance to be a strength, if someon can get them the ball. With Harris and Kahn as smallish slot guys, Goree, Kidsy, and Smiley as mid size guys that can burn, and Rutherford, Grimm, and Thompson as tall guys on the outside, plus the TEs, a good QB should be licking his chops.

Sadly, employees get let go every day that 'try real hard', but just do not produce. It doesn't make them bad people. As the great one said, "Either do or do not, there is no try".

I feel confident that if Smith is head and shoulders above AM, he will quickly get the nod, maybe even by the opener. If not, then AM will be given a chance to see what he does with it and Smith will be waiting to step in.
-
Of course they do it because they think they can get away with it. What they don't have a good handle on is the long term ramifications. Throwing a kid away has some real potential of taking a kid that may have made something of himself and turning him in the wrong direction. Not an easy call. I have no idea of his background or upbringing. I am sure someone in his family taught him right from wrong, but kids do stupid things even when they know better.
-
I have no issue giving a kid a second chance or two to prove they know better. They are 17 and 18 years old and regardless of what they think they know, they don't have a clue for the most part. It takes a village. and while we are at it, let's offer Soso Jamabo from Plano a spot if UCLA pulls their offer after his much more serious offense (I highly doubt UCLA pulls their offer).

Last season, the SEC had 5 of its teams rush for more yards that it passed (Georgia, Florida, Auburn, Arkansas, and LSU). The Big 12-2 only had 1 (Oklahoma). The B1G had 5 (Ohio St, Wisconsin, Nebraska, Indiana, and Minnesota). The ACC had 4 (Georgia Tech, Pitt, NC State, Boston College). Pac 12 had 0. It seems that there are still teams out there that have a run first mentality, but it is in the minority. Big 12-2 and Pac 12 had the least. Probably speaks to why many view those conferences as soft when compared to B1G and SEC. Keep in mind that our current O-Coordinator was chosen as the best candidate by TDodge to run a high octane offense. I can only hope that the Mac follows up on his 'threat' to open up the offense this year.

You could also flip that around and say that he is using it to motivate DS by reminding him of how he put himself behind by failing to take care of business in the classroom, and that he will have to work overtime to catch up. Part of leadership is to put your key people under a little stress and see if they focus, or fold.

Ah yes. Those were the days when we opened up the offense. No bus drivers back then. Gunslingers. Glory days.

UNT Signee Kevin Dillman putting in the work

Snatch. -
DW's leaving is hardly a surprise. Many thought he would leave after last Fall. In hindsight, he probably should have. This is what QB's do. If they are not in a position to play significant minutes, they move on. Sadly, it was probably time for DW to move on for his own sake. I still can't believe he was not ahead of Greer (at least) on the depth chart, but that just shows how far the divide between DW and the coaching staff must have been. Best of luck to DW. I hope he lights it up somewhere in the Fall.

Several reports saying they will announce football is returning. Presser at 4pm.

I am spotting a trend here. Andrew Smith led us to 8-4 and a bowl win over Cincy, started the first half of the next year before losing the job back to Scott Hall, and then you have to go back another 30 years to the mid 70's to get to Kenny Washington, a North Texas hall of famer. We really need DS or DW to excel in Fall practice.
