A UNT victory this season would do wonders for getting this series heated up, just like the dirty bird series.

There were naysayers initially about the back shoulder throw until people proved it could be effective. The back ankle throw that Canales taught DT, and now AM, will be the wave of the future soon. Impossible to defend. Of course it also proves impossible to catch at times, but let's not nitpick.

I expect this to be a smaller class compared to the last couple. Plus, I expect to see the staff continue to spend a lot of time on JUCOs and transfers based on the number in our 2 deep. Can't say I blame them. If they can get 10-12 quality HS and 7-8 JUCO/xfers that will leave a few spots for late signees. If the late signees don't materialize then they can pursue mid term enrollees. As many have pointed out, we have been signing too many HS recruits that don't have a lot of other offers, which has resulted in way too many that can't seem to crack the 2 deep.

The 2014 and 2015 classes are well represented.

The Periscope videos only show a small sampling, but Trussel seemed to be struggling in the clips I saw. Hope he continues to improve and is able to get on the field.

I must have missed that part. I only heard Mac mention the 1, 2, 3 ranking, but not the 'distant 3rd w/o a grasp of the offense' part. Maybe you embellished a bit? I have no doubt that Smith has the stronger arm. However, playing QB at the D1 level is about more than who has the strongest arm. I really don't see why that concept is so hard to grasp, but clearly it is. Hopefully, Smith can continue to learn and show he is capable of running the offense and will be ready if his name is called.

I remember the MT game in 2013 when they put in their running QB. It worked for a few times and then Sed Ellis (I believe), absolutely trucked him and that was the end of that. Hopefully, someone can do the same this weekend.

If you think that is more of a danger than a power running game then you run the 3-4 that we have bee practicing and put speed at the OLB spots with a NG and two speed rushers on the outside. The good news is that I believe we have options this year at LB and DL for this scenario.

I would be fine with 5-6k if the seats we had were really nice. There are worse things to deal with than having too many fans and not enough seats.
