  1. Moral victory?
  2. He is not on our list (afaik), we are on his. The list that Vito provided did not list our candidates, it listed people who had submitted their resumes.
  3. Nice way to finish out the game Brett. Some riveting commentary in the 4th.
  4. I don't mind seeing him as one of the list of 5-6 serious contenders.
  5. Woops. Listening to the pregame, sounds like Demarcus may be on a short leash and Canales may be looking to get McNulty and Greer some work. If that is the case, I am suddenly not so confident about covering the spread.
  6. I believe DaMarcus is 4-1 (ATS) since he took over. Looking to go 5-1 today.
  7. Do you know why? Because he's been with Del Griffith. The shower curtain ring fella. He can deal with anything.
  8. Keep in mind option 1 involves playing the bluebloods of college football and option 3 is playing P5, but likely playing the bottom 1/3 P5 or whoever you could get to agree to a H/H. Some people (more than I expected) are voting they would rather keep playing the bluebloods even though it means always playing them on the road and having to play an FCS.
  9. Please don't post in this thread again UNT90 if you can't keep from posting about the AD. This thread has absolutely nothing to do with the AD. This thread is about understanding what the people on this board would like to see in a schedule. It is not concerned with how, or if, or who. That comes later.
  10. This question is not meant to generate comments on the AD's ability to run a program and it is not asking whether we can afford to eliminate the current annual paycheck game. It is meant to try and determine if there is more interest from the fan base to play: The current strategy (Option 1) 6 HOME GAMESa road game against a traditionally top 25 P5 program (I will call this the premier OOC game) - still get paida home game against an FCS team (winnable (did not say guaranteed win) home game) - we pay them to come to Apogeesmoo series (OOC rivalry game in H/H series)one additional H/H series (rotating H/H series against comparable G5 program with some brand appeal)Potential strategy (Option 2) - THIS OPTION PRODUCES A 5 GAME HOME SCHEDULE EVERY OTHER YEARa road game against a traditionally top 25 P5 program (I will call this the premier OOC game) - still get paidsmoo series (OOC rivalry game in H/H series)one additional H/H series (rotating H/H series against comparable G5 program with some brand appeal)one additional H/H series (rotating H/H series against comparable G5 program with some brand appeal)Potential strategy (Option 3) 6 HOME GAMESa rotating H/H series against what would normally be considered a bottom 20-25 P5 program or a top 5 G5 program with name appeal (premier OOC game)smoo series (OOC rivalry game in H/H series)rotating H/H series with non regional G5 program rotating H/H series with regional G5 programs (Texas and mostly bordering states, recognizable name due to proximity)
  11. From an RPI perspective, it is often worse to play a lowly ranked D1 school (even if you win) than playing a team that does not even count in the RPI calculation. Edit: Not that RPI considerations would be the only reason we would schedule these teams.
  12. I wouldn't be so sure about that.
  13. UT-Tyler hasn't gone anywhere. Look a little closer.
  14. I wholeheartedly support the idea of any RV related threads be moved to the AD related forum. And if possible, the AD related forum posts not showing up in the 'new content' as they most certainly do not contain 'new' content.
  15. A Texas Christian school, Texas, and Stanford in the early going seems pretty tough.
  16. For those that are responding with the fact they like playing big name programs, why do you assume that we can't play P5 teams unless we play them in the road? Also, I realize that our current context is that we need the paycheck to fund the program. This thread was supposed to be about asking someone from the inner circle if there has been any discussion about eliminating these types of paycheck games and instead only play H/H series. In other words, if money was not a constraint, would we choose to only play other teams that were willing to play H/H?
  17. Is it still possible to add someone at the break, assuming there was someone they want to add? Or would they already have to be enrolled?
  18. Knocking off top 25 ranked teams. It's what we do. Congrats girls! And Congrats Jalie!! Hopefully the first of many.
  19. It is nice to see the home team actually making a few open shots. Last year, even when they were wide open, it seemed like it was a struggle. Also nice to see them shooting the ball in rhythm when they are open instead of waiting until late in the shot clock and covered. The defense will get tougher as the competition gets better, but still nice to see.
  20. My apologies, when I tuned in they were playing the mens pregame. just checked 95.3 and it sounded like the National Anthem was playing. May be a delayed broadcast but sounds like it is coming on.
  21. Ok, the men's broadcast is on KNTU now.
  22. Pre game on right now on the tv stream
  23. Again, I would suggest to look at the cause, not the symptom. The symptom is that we are not getting teams from the P5 to play in Apogee. I believe the cause is the fact we are still playing paycheck games. If we played the paycheck game AND scheduled another P5 at the same time, that is probably not putting yourself in the best opportunity to have success. Figure out a way to fund the program where the paycheck game is not necessary and a lot of the symptoms that get so many people riled up go away imo. Once the program gets to that point, maybe we can make some real progress.
  24. I think this is a short sighted view. You could make the same argument that it is Smatresk's ultimate responsibility, or Jackson's ultimate responsibility, etc... I don't disagree that RV should hold Nittardy accountable, just like ultimately McCarney was held accountable. If the entire program continues to perform badly, I would expect Smatresk to hold RV accountable. There are many people in the athletic department that draw a paycheck. There are many people not performing up to expectations.
